Positive Review
The pick up on my car is great. The radio sounds really great. I love the push button gears. The only thing I dont like is that it is a little too wide. I wish the mirrors on the side had a push button to fold them flat so I could get in my garage easier. I have gotten 4 dings on it because of that. I am sick about that. I like the cup holders. There are so many new things to learn about it... I havent learned them all yet. I am 5ft. tall. Its a little hard for me to see everything around me. I had my 2000 Odyssey for 17 years and didnt want to even look at another car. I really like the idea of it telling you want it is doing straight in front of you where you see your mileage on the car. The gps is a little more involved. I know I just need to study it a little more but right now its trial and error for me. I feel very safe in my new 2018 Honda Odyssey Van. OH! I almost forgot...My Grandchildren love the movies I show in the car. It keeps them occupied. Oh! I wish the writing on the steering wheel was a little easier to read. You have to memorize it I guess. You sure dont want to look down at it and try to figure it out while you are driving.
Critical Review
The new Odyssey is complete garbage with tons of electrical issues, recalls, and reliability problems. Mine is 1year old with 12,000 miles. Is been in for repair 10times, towed twice, and on its THIRD battery. Honda won’t do anything to help or even extend the warranty. HUGR disappointment.

In February it's been 6yrs since we brought home this car. My kids were 12 and 14yrs. I don't need a minivan anymore but this car drives perfectly, looks brand new - it's so hard to part with! We only have 36.6k miles due to the pandemic. Our driving was cut down for over a year - more like 2yrs! It's so comfortable to drive on long trips - the middle row seats are as comfortable as the front row. We love the seat memory - switching drivers is a breeze. The V6 engine gives us great pickup. When I drive the CRV it's not as peppy. Anyone thinking about a low mileage 2020 EXL - you won't regret it! I can't believe the cost of a new one - we paid under $35k in 2020!!
Strong engine and smooth shifting transmission but long wheelbase requires wider allowance for turning radius. A little too noisy and needs more insulation. Garmin navigation is very disappointing as is the display with too much glare. Seats are not comfortable and my wife hates them; just too hard. Roomy with plenty of cargo space but floor is not flat which makes loading difficult. Love the rearview camera and other safety features.
Honda ‘s require maintenance for longevity. We have turned into a Honda /Acura only family after owning and experiencing Dodges, Fords , Audi, VW, Ram , and Toyota. My wife currently had an Odyssey and went to a Passport after 6 years of use. Well now she wants to return again to the Odyssey for space, comfort, and easy to get into and out. They have plenty of power and I can do all the maintenance. We’re buying the 2023 with 152,000 miles and sure it will go another 150 w/o a problem.
This is our second Odyssey. It seems all of the technology upgrades have come with just as many downsides. Both lift gate motors went out before 75k. Power doors are far more finicky than previous model. Have needed more battery changes (covered by warranties, but still a nuisance). For context, our 2018 model now has 148k miles. We have spent more than $4k a year in maintenance and repairs the last two years (this does not include tire costs). Pros- styling, comfort for driver and passengers
It’s not even been 9 months of ownership, and we have had continual issues. The car has literally died twice at stoplights. Electrical system has been unresponsive several times. We have had AC issues, the windows are very jittery when they are rolled down, just poor quality. The lane keeping hardly functions. The AC turns off when you idle the car and in Texas that’s a problem. So far the dealership has done very little to help. Had to call corporate to force them to notate the issues as the issues are not consis
All around amazing car. Everything you need for the family when on the road. Drives so smooth. So quiet. Inside. Touch screen is very big can see everything clearly.
relieable, roomy, versatile
no awd
This Honda van is extremely practactical & versatile. Always relieable. Has enough room for 8 people. The interior is quite comfortable & roomy. It drives like a car. yet has tremendous seating arrangments & cargo space availble. Great for long road trips. The only setback is that it is not available in an all wheel drive version. Other than that I would not hesitate to buy or reccomend another honda odyssey.A great family friendly vechicle.
Almost 300 HP, legendary J35 engine, Vtec, tight cornering, comfy
no manual transmission option
No hybrid, no problem. That's not a con, it's a pro. The J35 is a legendary engine that gets better year over year. Maximum confort, street car like handling, sleak look, excellent visibility as a driver, dope entertainment system for kids that are not brain dead tablet fiends, and plenty of power. Very little not to like from the Odyssey.
