Bought my 2024 CRV hybrid before our cross country trip. We needed a bigger car than our 2018 Audi Q3. We bought the Sport model. Gas mileage averaging 65 + 50 percent of the time was not great about 32 mpg. Since arrival to our destination city and highway about 35 mpg. Blind spot sensor needed to be replaced at around 4.5k miles. Dealer had to remove rear bumper and now need to fix both rear well moldings which popped out a bit on both sides after a few weeks of driving. Android and Apple Auto have had issues. I'm not sure why. I only wished I went and bought the L version for the parking sensors and trunk release, etc but didn't want to spend an extra 2k. Instead put the 2k into an extended warranty. Handles well and comfortable. I'm 6 ft.

My brand new CRV sport has a high pitched ringing sound when you drive at a certain speed. Have had the car for just over a month, been to dealer 3 times who finally threw their hands up in the air because they don't know what it is and try to tell me I just have to live with it that this car makes that sound and they don't know why. DO NOT BUY unless you want to feel like you are taking a hearing test every time you drive your CRV hybrid around town with high frequency faint beeping noise, enough to drive anyone crazy. If this is normal Honda should expect a class action lawsuit soon. Hondas are made so cheap now and way overpriced.
Drives perfectly smooth. Zero issues. I’ve been wanting a CRV for a while and for the price it’s the best car that I could find!

Endless repairs, doesn't run well, terrible gas mileage, two months in shop so far
This thing has been horrible ever since I drove it off the lot. It has spent nearly two months in the shop for all kinds of issues, mostly electronic and safety, and repairs don't seem to be making a difference. It runs poorly, stalls, and gas mileage is terrible especially for a Hybrid. I used to love Honda cars, but I'll never buy one again.
Sport mode option, Bose sound system, leather seats, roomy back seat, spacious cargo, user-friendly, standard driver-assist tech
no cooled seats, small sunroof, terrible windshield wipers
I got this car at the end of April and have been so happy with it. It's the Sport Touring trim level, and the upgrades to the screen, sound system, and tires were definitely worth it. It had one owner previously, then was owned by the dealership as a loaner. It's the perfect combination of comfort and efficiency with a touch of rugged. I do mostly city/suburban driving, and it gets better mileage than my 2012 Civic. The boxier redesign means more headroom without sacrificing the compact size. I do wish Honda would spring for some of the little luxuries that Acura does, like rear heated seats, front cooled seats, panoramic sunroof, and panoramic backup cam. But I also understand sacrificing some of these luxuries will likely make the car more reliable and affordable. Anyway - very happy so far. The ride is so smooth and quiet. It's my first hybrid and I have zero complaints.
Interior and space
Engine performance is inconsistent and slow
The interior is nice and space is excellent. The back-up camera quality is poor. The hybrid engine is slow and loud. It takes a long time to warm up before it becomes a smooth drive. The transition between EV and gas engine sometimes gets stuck and won't accelerate normally. The engine was so slow at one point that I had to turn on the hazard lights while driving. The dealership's service evaluation was that it was "driving as designed." No thank you Honda...trading it in for a Toyota.
I had nothing but praise for this car but this all changed after a blown head gasket and fuel injectors. This cost me $5000 to repair on a vehicle I am still paying for. It also shows me that Honda customer service is poor. I started having issues when the vehicle was still under warranty. The problem presented it self as a slight vibration that felt like my tires were unbalanced. Then it started feeling like a bad torque converter at speed 20-23 mph which this vehicle doesn’t have. Went to three different dealers and none of them were able to properly diagnose the problem. It got worse and then I noticed that whenever the car sits for a while the engine would make a loud noise like a diesel engine and would go away once the engine was warm. Most people probably won’t notice this issue until they are out of warranty if they are not putting a lot of mileage on the car.
I have driven my Sport-L for two years and 27k miles. The best part about this car is its drivetrain compared to others in its class. The 2L engine is never loud and the car smoothly transitions in and out of electric-only mode. The e-CVT is responsive to throttle and is relatively quick to accelerate when you need the power. The safety features are not intrusive. The adaptive cruise control and the lane-centering features work nicely, even in traffic. The emergency braking system works well and can be adjusted. Another pro is that it's super spacious. It fits huge Costco runs and the back seats have great legroom. The front seats could be more comfortable, though. I find the aggressive bolstering digs into my thighs. I'm not even a big guy and it's still noticeable on long trips. This type of bolstering is better suited for a sporty car, rather than a family hauler. The interior is inoffensive and practical. The buttons and dials are accesible and easy to use. The auto-dimming rearview mirror is a life saver. The AC works well but sometimes you have to lower it a couple of degrees because it leans towards efficiency. Glitches with the infotainment have been due to issues with Android Auto, rather than the Honda software. However, the new CR-V is not a good value. Almost $40k for a FWD car with no heated steering wheel, no cooled seats, a basic audio system, no HUD, no satellite navigation, a manual passenger seat with no height adjustment, no spare tire, no wiper fluid sensor, no tire pressure monitor, and no back seat release in the trunk was hard to swallow. The Sport Touring was too expensive and came with things that we really didn't want like AWD and 19 inch wheels. I wish Honda would offer more options on the mid-level trims and not force you into the Touring to get features that most competitors include. I still like it!
GAS MILEAGE, AT TIMES NEAR 40 MPG
RELIABILITY
on 5/24/25 at stop sign, vehicle locked up. no ability to move forward or reverse. multiple warning lights lit including brake malfunction. towed to a dealership where bad battery cell was diagnosed. new battery installed. on 6/2/25, on country road, multiple warning light lit up. complete loss of power from gas engine. able to get home on hybrid battery but flat surfaces and slight inclines only able to muster about 15 mph. now awaiting AAA tow arranged by Honda Roadside Assistance. no longer confidant that i can get from point A to point B without being possibly stranded somewhere.
