Positive Review
Back glass in the lift gate rattles loudly, literally moving up and down. It has been in shop 4 times, they hear it and see it, but can't figure out how to fix it. Had to file a claim with GMC. Very disappointed. Most of trim on inside is cheap plastic and poorly assembled. The ride is as good as the previous model. Turns and handles like a car, not a truck.
Critical Review
I bought a 21 Yukon XL, SLT with the premium package (captain chairs, tvs, leather) in January of 21 before the chip shortage. I only drive it once a week (I have a work car) and on family road trips. At 1 year old and 3k miles, it died in a drive thru.. fuel regulator.. and had to be towed (fun fact you can't put them in neutral since the transmission is all electronic). On to June 25, 2023... The radio had to be replaced because it wouldn't download an update and it could just stop working at any point, also disabling the wifi (one week before our two week road trip). July 14th 2023, driving home on the last day of our two week road trip... the engine (we believe) breaks a lifter 100 miles from home and we have to get it towed, find a hotel, then work out two rental cars (family of 5 with two weeks worth of luggage) to get home. I was never a GM fan, but my wife was raised on them. I will be getting rid of this garbage as soon as I get it back... from the second major failure, with only 11k miles on it.

Lots of interior room
Too many mechanical failures!
Second Yukon, Second transmission failure. I don't drive it hard and I tow very little. I wish that was all, but it isn't. It's been in the shop a total of 6 weeks in the 3 years we owned it. The second major issue is that when you shut it off, there are times it just won't crank. Just cycles through starting sequence, never turns over. If you let it sit for sometime, then it starts. GMC can NOT tell us what's wrong. Said they had it fixed, nope, died on us 6.5 hours from home. Luckily letting it sit worked. Last GMC I will own that's for sure.
The Diesel is Amazing
The Safety Features are Annoying
First, get the diesel. This is our 3rd diesel Yukon and they are amazing. Great mileage, great resale value, plenty of horse power, and the range for one tank of fuel can be very convenient on long road trips. The extra room in the XL model is also convenient for luggage if you have a large family and enjoy the ability to see out the back windows. The 10 speed transmission is smooth and it will glide down the interstate at any speed with ease at very low engine RPM. The only real downside to this vehicle are the overbearing safety features. If I look over at the navigation screen it vibrates the seat and tells me I am distracted. The auto-cruise (self-driving) feature will randomly hit the breaks in the middle of the highway. The backup camera will slam on the breaks if it sees any movement behind the vehicle even if it is way out of range. The back hatch opens automatically if you walk past it with the key in your pocket. If I lean too far on to the center console it will vibrate the seat and tell me I am distracted. We use this vehicle on the farm and there is no way to disable the seat belt alarm. We spent about an hour going through all of the settings and were able to disable most of the annoying features. I find putting a business card in front of the camera that looks at my face cures many of these frustrations and I may opt for a more permanent piece of black electrical tape that will blend in seamlessly. The auto stop feature is also frustrating but like the EPA gas cans I believe most of America is dealing with this frustration and it is not limited to this vehicle. Overall, we love the vehicle and will buy another one.

I got my 26 Yukon Denali SUV with 3 miles on it. Got to 308 and had engine knock. Took it to Classic GMC, they had it a week. Flushed out the engine debris, no knocking. Also they changed the oil. Not from 0-20w to 40w, but just changed it with the same OEM AC Delco standard Dexos, no more knocking. Now at 1238 miles havent had any issues. Actually getting 22.3 MPG! For a truck that is 17 city 20 Hwy..
This truck has excellent get up and go power, great traction control and steering, with an impressive turning radius, love the large dash display screen, sleek design inside and out, and the suspension makes for comfortable long highway and city driving. Surrounded in cool luxury, state of the art sound system while feeling like a VIP in my classy black FBI looking whip.
If you like a car that leaks from every opening in the roof any time it rains and a brand that doesn’t think it’s an issue worth addressing, this is your car! 100k car that GMC would recommend you don’t park under a tree. My personal advice is do not purchase this vehicle or any GMC vehicle for that matter. Worst car experience I’ve ever had in my life. Just hoping there’s no mold to impact my health because I’m stuck with a piece of junk until I can sell it.
2 years left in warranty Great condition Beautiful Runs great Sterling metallic/teak light shale Diesel 3L

Bought a White Diamond color Denali which has exceeded my expectations. Premium materials throughout, especially seats. The mileage has also exceeded my expectations, have experienced a mileage highway best of 25 mpg, normal highway is 21-22 mpg. My combined is 18 mpg, and I burn regular fuel. Premium is 'recommended', not required.......and I burn that when I tow my boat or jet skiis. Warranty is not affected by this. Ride and Handling is supreme. Safety equipment makes the drivability a super experience.
Roomy, good fuel economy for the size
Value dropped like a rock.
We have owned ours for three years now. We built ours through the local dealer and got everything we asked for. Great fuel economy considering the size and great quality throughout. The interior is very comfortable and well made. We’ve never had an issue other than a couple recalls that have been taken care of by the dealership immediately. We are constantly on the road with our daughter as she plays travel volleyball and there’s plenty of room for all of her things and she can chill in the third row comfortably. Most of the trips are 4 hours one way and on the highway we see around 21-22MPG. Very happy with this vehicle and with the comfort of the 100k warranty we purchased I feel we will be well into the 6 figure mileage range before we make another purchase!
