Positive Review
I've owned my 1989 Geo Prizm 4D Hatchback now for 20 years and it's still going strong with 147K+ miles, gets better gas mileage than most of the (non-hybrid) new cars on the market, and I paid less than $10K for it. You can't beat that! A very reliable commuter vehicle that is extremely economical to own!
Critical Review
I bought my 1992 Prizm used in 2006. It had 69,000 miles on it from its first owner. It's now at 120,000 and I'm looking at getting a newer used car. In the time I've had it, I've had to replace the rack and pinion, the alternator, the radiator, the struts, and the break lines. It has an oil leak. I can't go 1000 miles without having to add another quart to it. If I'm going to be spending money, I'd rather it be on purchasing a newer car than putting one more dime into this one. It's good for a starter car, but I've had enough of it now.

I have been a new owner of a 1990 geo prism in the past. Now I return to own a 1990 geo prism in the present day and I can say the awesome 9 dollar fill up has changed to 19 dollar fill up but I still get to where I am going every time. This car has never left me stranded. I do the simple once a week fluid check and I do add oil at least once every 3k miles. I guess you could just call me Thrifty cause I am so in love with the inexpensive Ins. and upkeep.
