"Amazing Value and Driving Experience"

I recently purchased the G70 2.0T Advanced base model after an extensive compare/contrast across a broad range of vehicles (Lexus, 2018 Audi, 2018 BMW, Honda, Mazda 6). Based on my family's stellar experience with Hyundai, the data (reviews, spec comparisons (hp/torque, safety features, more back seat leg room than IS 300, BMW 430i)), JD Powers, etc), expected cost of ownership, perks (valet servicing, 5yr/60, Genesis app, Alexa), and the AMAZING driving experience, the G70 became the clear winner.

Amazing little compact
Pros

Engines, Build Quality, Simplicity, highway driving assist, comfort, fun, speed, value.

Cons

Back seat space.

Most fun car I've ever driven and also the most comfortable. It is able to easily fill every role ive needed so far. It is ultimately best used with 2 or less full sized adults. But nonetheless its the only car I've seen thats escaped the waves of computer filled cars.

Genesis is my favorite car brand and this model is

I’m 65 and have owned quite a few cars ok 2 MANY!! 1st new car was a 1985 Corvette then a 1988 Corvette. Then with a family and a brother working for ford so I purchased 3 different Fords and quite frankly all 3 were less than satisfactory. Switched to a Honda and alas opened my eyes to new brands. My wife and I were always sport and speed types so we went to a BMW 535i had a 4 and a 6 cylinder loved the style and performance but extremely expensive upkeep and hard to get work done. Purchased our 1st Genesis and have been hooked ever since. Instead of purchasing a new 1 I fell in love with this 2019 elite edition with the twin turbo v-6 and of course every option. It now has 72,000 miles and looks and drives like new!! Haven’t had 1 problem someone said it gets bad gas mileage. Personally I never care and the money I saved purchasing it used pays for a lifetime of gas. Genesis is by far the best car for a complete car mixing performance with luxury and technology I’ve ever owned. The close second was my Lexus and Liked my BMW . If you haven’t purchased a Genesis test drive one . I’ve rented the Gv70 and GV80 on trips loved them but for now I like owning a 4 door with all wheel drive. Purchase the 6 cylinder you will agree best car decision ever.

Est. on a ‘25 G70 Genesis

Kelly Blue Book is the ‘Gold Standard,’ & always has been, in my eyes. It is quick, because it’s easy to use, & I’m hoping to buy a Genesis, even though my wife says she like her ‘08 Lincoln MKZ! What a great tool for everyone to use!!!

Why I love my Genesis
Pros

Very sporty. Get the 3.5T

Cons

Just enough rear leg room only if you're 5"9

After researching several luxury SUV'S ( Previous Benz owner). I found that the Genesis offered more standard luxury and I love that it has a 6 cyclinder engine option.

Great but not refined

I have found the GV70 to be a generally great vehicle and one of the best looking SUVs. It rides well, is quite comfortable and fairly easy to set up. It did take me a few days to learn the system and all the features but initial set up was easy. As with any computer system it takes some time to understand all the nuances. I must admit that I am 83 years old and probably not as computer literate as younger persons. The vehicle does need some additional refinement. As an example I found the idle stop/start function to be extremely harsh…jolting my nerves at every red traffic signal.. I promptly turned it off.

Cons

Even though it a 4 door sedan no back seat room

Bought this car about two weeks ago, choose over Nissan Maxima, or another Toyota Camry. So glad I picked this vehicle

Almost too good to be true...
genesis g70 2024 Image - 37215176
Pros

Price, comfort, features, performance

Cons

Poor brake rotors/pads from the factory, RWD model can be a bit light in a tailend

I bought a 2022 Genesis G70 Sport Prestige 3.3t RWD at the end of November. I was shopping for a car to replace my 2018 Audi S3, which was fun but lacking in comfort and features. I was downselecting between an Audi S4, Audi S5 Sportback, Acura TLX Type S, BMW M340i. The BMW was holding the top spot pretty easily with it's handling, power, interior and looks but the price was higher for a comparable model year with low miles ($10-20k more than a G70). I loved the looks of the Acura TLX Type S but the car was lacking personality. The S4 felt too much like my S3. The S5 Sportback, like the BMW, is great in every aspect but the cost for the '22 with low miles was impossible to find. The first G70 that I drove wowed me. I drove it back to back with a 2020 BMW M340i and it's clear that the G70 was created to go after that car. The handling is very similar, as is the power, with the M340i being quicker off the line and a better transmission (quicker shifts). I do feel like the G70 edges out the BMW when it comes to features and comfort. The cabin of the G70 is excellent and I love the seats and the adjustability. The car is very intuitive and easy to learn the features. The drive is exactly what I was looking for - night and day personalities. In comfort mode, it rides like a fine luxury car soaking up road noise and bumps but still with some fun and excitement. Sport Mode changes the car while Sport + is almost scary...LOL! The car takes on curves confidently and is sneaky fast - you will be at 100+ effortlessly. The car pulls like crazy in all modes from 60 MPH as if it is pulling from 20 MPH. NOTE: The power and torque are higher than one would think - when the tires are cold, the rear end does/will slide out in a controllable manner in a slight drift. Once the tires are warm, this behavior does self-correct. My list of gripes: =Proximity lock - would be nice to have with a luxury car =No way to default to a drive mode other than comfort =Window Trim on the Sport Prestige oxidizes quickly =Brake pads and rotors - not suitable for a car this fast =Why does the app cost $10 per month? Ridiculous!!!! =Trunk space is very shallow =Not a gripe but something that potential buyers should know is that the backseat is small. Not a huge issue for me since I can't remember the last time someone rode in my backseat. Overall, I am very happy with my G70. I typically get upgrade fever shortly after getting a car but not with this one. I will add some wheel spacers for better stance/fitment, color correct, and ceramic coat. I'm a cyclist so a roof rack will be installed since cycling is part of my lifestyle. Outside of those items, I will continue to love driving it.

Great value for a fantastic car.
Pros

Great driving dynamics.

Cons

Lack of brand recognition, if you care.

Bought a '21 2.0T Elite package just off lease with 22,000 miles on it. This is a fantastic Sports-Sedan. A good value new compared to the competition (BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Mercedes C Class), it's an even better value CPO or lightly used. Since it doesn't have the brand cachet the German do, it's depreciated a bit more (don't expect that to continue). Power and handling easily match or exceed the Germans, and maintenance costs will be significantly less in the long run. The only complain I hear is that the infotainment is straight out of a Hyundai/Kia from that year... so what? It has CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio and Satellite radio (if you really want to subscribe). The infotainment is simple and straightforward, unlike my wife's 2024 Kona with the massive touch screen that we can't even figure out how to navigate to the radio tuner on without looking for a tutorial on YouTube... There's something to be said for keeping things simple. The seats are probably the most comfortable I've ever had in a car with the possible exception of my 1976 Chrysler Cordoba, which was like sitting on a well loved sofa. The adaptive cruise control is a god-send in rush hour freeway traffic. If you're in the market for a luxury sports-sedan, do yourself a favor and at least check it out.
