Positive Review
I bought a used Ford Ranger Raptor with 2k miles on it. I was buying a new one but this had all the extra I would have put on the truck. This is an amazing and powerful truck and when you need the power, this vehicle has it. You will be at the gas station more, but the ride is worth it. The view in the truck for driving is amazing as you feel like you are sitting above everything but because it is a mid-size, it is nimble. If you want a fun truck, this is it. It is a Raptor that is 30k less than the Bronco and F-150. It is also top of the line and 10 K less than the Tacoma and Colorado, with a 6 cylinder.
Critical Review
I purchased a new 4x4 base model Ranger XL STX with the legendary and reliable 2.3L engine. At delivery, the truck would not start and required assistance before I could take it home. Shortly after, I experienced repeated cold-weather issues including loss of power steering assist, dashboard resets, and charging ports not functioning. The electronic steering system behaved unpredictably in cold temperatures, making the vehicle difficult to control. The following day the truck again failed to start. I contacted Ford customer service and was advised to pursue a buyback, but that process was later reversed. After a year of ownership and only 1,500 miles, the truck continues to have intermittent no-start and steering issues and is currently back at the dealership for diagnosis. I also learned that connected vehicle features require acceptance of extensive data-collection terms, which some buyers may want to review carefully. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this vehicle

I “thought” I wanted to trade my 2014 Ford F150 Lariat (also with double moonroof) in for something a little smaller….the Ranger Lariat. Well it’s smaller all right! My husband is approx 5’ 9 1/2” tall, has to slide the seat all the way back and it’s still not enough! The road noise reminds me of someone leaving the window barely open. I have chronic back pain with some fusions so there’s only certain vehicles that are easy for me to get in and out of, like a truck. This thing is NOT comfortable for me to sit and drive OR ride as a passenger. Yes, it was comfortable the day I bought but how do you know? Also, when you shut the door it sounds very thin and cheap. The BIGGEST thing that I don’t like is the console! The button for changing driving terrains shouldn’t be there. I swear you could just look at it and it will change and start shifting to whatever terrain and/or to 4wheel drive. I thought it would be a great place to lay my purse ——nope—I learned my lesson. Really bad console configuration, that’s for sure. Instead, I’ve got this really small storage space. C’mon Ford, I buy the Lariat package for comfort…..and you’ve obviously cheapened out on the Ranger Lariat!
Very comfortable and smooth drive. Interior is nicely laid out, nice technology! Nice looking truck. Accessories from Ebay and Amazon were reasonably good and the insurance coverage was also good. Good MPG average 22.
The 2.3L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine is great!
Electronic power steering and no starting in the cold

This truck stock truly is a Swiss Army knife it will do everything at a high level will it be the best no but its versatility is unmatched. The F150 and Bronco raptor are awesome in their own rights but gigantic on the streets and hard to fit on tight trails. The nimbleness of the Ranger Raptor allows you to daily drive, rock crawl blast thru the desert all at the same time for a very reasonable price compared to the competition. Ford nailed it with the Ranger Raptor.
Size and responsiveness.
Still a pricey option
