Good looking, dependable car with V6 and 5speed manual trans got 21mpg city, 28mpg hwy. Xlnt car until some jerk ran a red light and tboned drivers side, totaled rear of car but I was unhurt, must count for some thing! Bought used in Pasadena Ca. 2009, car was orig from Tx. 91 Probe had 150000mi and ran great after repl a fuel injector and catalitic converter. Later repairs incl. left front wheel bearing went bad, harmonic balancer/serpentine belt broke it. Glitches with the AC and cruize cont but good dependable sporty economical used vehicle for reasonable price. I replaced it with a 94 Probe GT model with V6eng 5sp trans also, very similar handling and perf. Can recomment both models as well built and enjoyable to drive and (both being V6 cars with stick), they get similar fuel economy 21city, 27hwy about. 4cyl cars should get better fuel economy, up to 34mpg on highway.

bought this car new and have loved driving it every day! just sold it to a friend today and am sad...(bought a new car). have never had a major problem in all 20 years.
had my probe lx 5-speed 3.0 v6 for a year and a half. bought it for $200 with a 154000 on it now have 171000. very fast coners excellent good braking. has full digital dash with optional metric readings. i have goten up to an average of 38 mpg. taken it on 4 800 mile trips geten an average of 33.5 mpg driven 75-95 mph through the mountains. it never strugled.
I've owned 2 89pgts and a 92pgt. They were great cars. Fairly comfortable, great handling with quite a bit of zip to it. Installed a manual boost controller pushing 10psi (stock 7.3) and it handled it just fine without any additional needs. beat a 5.0 hatch stang and never lost to a N/A 4 banger or N/A v6. With intake, downpipe, exhaust, boost controller, MSD setup, BOV, youll push around 200whp. avg pgt will cost you about $1200. figure brakes, tune up, possibly alternator and starter (as they go out around 80K) and a valve cover gasket (starts wearing around 80k too) you'll spend just over 2K on the car. $1500 in minor mods and you have a decently quick car for only $3500 Great value for a great car. Only problems I've ever had were starter, altenator, valve cover gasket and replaced the clutch once. If you find one buy it, cuz there hard to find in decent shape and there easy and fairly cheap to make them faster. Had to sell mine when I moved. Gonna get another when I get time and cash.
This car starts up every time the Adjustable suspension and Turbocharger make this a classic sports car.
Great on Gas and handles well. New shocks and stuts. Lots of work done on this car and have the paper work to show what has been done. Turbo engine pick up is great and fun. Needs some interior and exterior work. Have many extra parts for the car.
