Positive Review
I’ve had my Lariat for 6 months now and I am happy with it. Although the entry models are very well priced for a brand new vehicle, I chose the Lariat without any upgrade packages as the XL & XLT do not have the current “luxuries” that most would consider standard in a new vehicle. (Push start, dash screen, “leather” seats) The Maverick is the perfect vehicle to suit work and everyday life without breaking the bank. Pros: well priced, well designed interior with ample storage, good on gas, comfortable seats, strong engine, great handling and overall feel without the overbearing ride and size of a truck. Cons: engine auto stop/start cannot be permanently disengaged, sync/bluetooth system can be glitchy on occasion, wind noise at highway speed is noticeable, adding extras to your build can get very pricey.
Critical Review
I really don't understand why so many people are raving about this truck. Are they blind and deaf? The ride is acceptable until you hit high speeds, then you better hang on. The fuel mileage is excellent like everyone else says, I am getting mid 40's. Otherwise, this is a cheap, plastic, HORRIBLY squeaky and rattling piece of junk inside the cab. The computer processing power must be from 20 years ago. The radio, dash, GPS and other electronics take way to long to load and the garbage SYNC never seems to be able to connect to my phone contacts. I have owned it since March of 2024 and I only have 4,000 miles on it. It's the lariat hybrid. I would NOT buy it again.

Great gas mileage
Too many to list
I bought a Ford Maverick in 2022. I was very excited about the prospect of having a truck with hybrid capabilities, and could not wait to take delivery. At first all seemed well, but soon the reality of Ford's substandard build quality and terrible customer service began to surface. To begin with, the truck was plagued by numerous recalls involving electrical, engine and other unexplainable gremlins that had me visiting the dealership regularly for extended periods of time. To make matters worse, every time I tried to reach out to the service manager, I never ONCE received a phone call back, and had to rely on my service advisor for answers (which usually were not satisfactory to say the least,) What really exemplified Ford's incompetence at every level was the occurrence of a no-fault crash I suffered in this substandard vehicle in 2024. I was hit at appx. 50 mph at an intersection and THE AIRBAGS, ALL OF THEM, FAILED TO DEPLOY. Not even the emergency blinkers automatically engaged, something pretty routine for even older vehicles. I basically ended up with life altering injuries because of a truck that failed at every level to keep its occupant safe in a crash. After doing some research, I found that there had been a recall of the Maverick air bags but my vehicle was not included in the recall. Obviously it should have been, and I was never notified. I tried reaching out to Ford to let them know what happened. After almost 2 months of being placed on hold, redirected ad nauseum, and having no communication, Ford offered to "buy back" my vehicle, which is laughable considering that they knew that the vehicle had been totaled in the crash and there was nothing to "buy back." This saving face attempt once again epitomized Ford's complete disconnect, whether purposeful or not, with their customers and the real gravity of the situation. Not even an apology was ever offered for what I have gone through this past year at the hands of this abomination of a truck. By the way, at least 5 of my friends and family have asked about the "quality" of my Maverick, as they were thinking of buying one. Needless to say, after sharing my experience, they decided otherwise. At least I have the consolation of knowing that others will hopefully be spared my experience, as I plan on sharing my experience on every available platform. By the way, no attorney will touch this incident because obviously they know that, in spite of overwhelming evidence (pics, police report, witnesses, etc.) Ford's team of attorneys will cover for any of their negligence and product liability. If you want to risk your life driving a substandard vehicle, be ignored at the dealership, treated like garbage by corporate, and have absolutely no legal recourse against a negligent car manufacturer, then Ford is the vehicle for you. Now driving a new Toyota truck, I feel like if, God Forbid, someone runs into me again, I will be protected and not hung out to dry by an irresponsible corporate machine that only views profits and shareholders as valuable, not human beings.
Small size with big abilities
Doesn’t last
I would not recommend purchasing a Ford Maverick. I drive a significant number of highway miles, and shortly after reaching 100,000 miles, I had to replace the air conditioning system (despite rarely using it, since I typically prefer driving with the windows down). Just 5,000 miles later, I am now facing the need to replace the transmission. This is not due to lack of maintenance, as I am always on top of it.
The exterior and interior great design. MPG 28/31. I think ford can do better than average estimate 30 mpg. Great for small business owners and daily commute such as Lyft or Uber. I would like to see a V6 engine in the mavericks truck with hybrid. I gave it a 3 stars because I love it, instrumental technology needs improvement. but the price tag should be below $28k and remind me of a FORD ESCAPE and FORD RANGERS.
Working for a Ford Dealer, and not a truck owner for over 20 years, I was content to keep driving my 23 Escape ST Line with only 13K miles, but then the Lobo showed up on my showroom floor. I even gave a presentation on the truck to my fellow Sales reps then took some pics for my wife. She said it was beautiful and that we should buy it. I did, and everything that's written about it, especially the Lobo Mode is true. Fun truck to drive, and I've been stopped at least three times now by people who say what a cool looking truck it is....and it is. Buy one, you won't be sorry.
4" shorter than my Tahoe was, so easy to park compared to a full size Silverado we once owned.
As happens frequently, couldn't find a truck with all the options I want without paying for several I don't need...and couldn't order as wait time too long and I'd not know how much my trade in would get me by the time I actually traded it.
Bought it 8 days ago new from Ford. Very nice. Turbo runs much quieter than I expected.
Good gas mileage
Unreliable
I bought this Maverick hybrid new in 2022, have had countless problems and recalls completed. This truck has been in the shop more times than any other vehicle i have ever owned. I received a letter from Ford stating that certain engines assembled at the plant in Mexico had a flaw in the engine, crank shaft assembly that could cause the motor to blow up, mine is one of the lucky engines. They offer no remedy other than a 10yr 150000 mile replacement if this happens. Needless to say this truck will not be going on any road trips far from home. Now I have a draw on my starting battery that causes it to go dead after a few days, it's called deep sleep mode and requires a jump start every time. It's been at the dealer 4 times in the last two months with no success in finding the cause. Ford just released a bulletin saying they know this is a software issue, they are working with their engineers and do not have a repair yet. Meanwhile I am making payments on something I cannot drive! STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRUCK!

I bought a new 24 Ford Maverick LARIAT AWD Tremor Package. My first road test was a 700 mile round trip visit with family. The vehicle performed well and was very comfortable. It is a great alternative to a big truck.
