I've built this truck and made several mods but the drivetrain is stock, and the miles on the engine are original! I have owned 2 F250s, a 1988 with an IDI Diesel and this 1996 with the powerstroke diesel. Both of them have been outstanding and I would recommend either truck to anyone

Looks, reliability, comfort, style,
Original rear diff was really low gears great pulling but made it difficult to be a practical daily.
I bought my 96 350 crew cab Long box dually 2wd, 7.3 powerstroke 5spd.... Must be about 8ish years ago now... What an amazing rig, I bought it for literally half of what engine is worth as someone let batteries eat some of the cab out and it needed a trans. The guy I bought it from drove it hard, I wasn't much better to it honestly, donuts, or loaded to the absolute max or late and just hauling ace. It's been pretty much my main daily and all towing rig most of time. In that time oh mileage the last guy told me that the same thing he was told no idea it's stuck at 300000kms..... So I'm guessing way over double that. Absolutely amazing interior huge comfy, large solid and well built, looks beautiful thoughi did do my dash and door panels black now. In the time I owned it an abused it... I changed it to commercial semi truck batteries 1200 CCA, the rear differential blew but it had been leaking and left unchecked aa well as earned its lifespan, ( turned out to be a godsend as I put in a differential that lets me go much much faster at lower revs) Clutch pedal bushing Clutch slave and master That's literally it changed oil. Like $500 in parts not including trans when I bought and batteries. Customized a big ranch hand bumper and used it hard lol If you find one cheap buy it if not tell me where it is😉
Best truck I've ever owned, rides nice pulls great and looks beautiful. Decent gas mileage for a diesel gets better than most new diesels. Love this truck wouldn't sell it.
One owner garage kept F-250HD w/7.3 diesel engine, towing package, Jasper racing transmission, and 4 position Chip with Stock, Fast Idle, Economy, and Tow positions. Looks better than when I drove it off the showroom floor. All maintenance records are available, including the original window sticker. Never wrecked, everything works, ready to tow. Includes 5th wheel hitch and standard hitch. It can also be considered an antique as everything except the racing transmission is original.

This girl was perfect. Car was smooth, you didn't even know you were driving it felt like a Lincoln Continental. Performance was great comfort and totally reliable. I purchased from a single owner who was a retired vet. I am second owner. British owner did timely engine upkeep, tires, and etc.
solid, economical, reliable, no repairs
its a truck, doesnt ride like a car, doesnt tow like a car, gets car mileage still 20 mpg, 15 while pulling 6500 lb 30ft dual tandem goose neck with 18500lb Caterpillar D4 dozr,,,,crossing the rockies mileage was 10-11 mpg. Original starter and water pump. Changed alternators twice and air conditioner compressor twice. Fuel injection has never been touched, turbo never touched. I change oil, air, and all fuel filters every 6000 miles. I disassemble front hubs and regrease every 50000 miles, change brakes and tires as needed. Never been stranded anywhere. Two fan belts. Best vehicle ive ever owned. its a truck not a car,,,,,
As anyone who has owned one of these trucks they are a very dependable workhorse. I've owned mine for 21 years and have never had any major issues other than regular maintenance and it's still chugging along. It's no cadilac but from its era it was the best truck made.
