Ford Dealership Repair Options

After the purchase or lease of your Ford, it’s recommended to have repairs done at your local Ford dealer, who will have the latest information on your vehicle, as well as the latest recall notices and service bulletins, as issued by the manufacturer.

In the case of a leased Ford, many of these contracts, including those from Ford Credit, Ford’s financial partner, will require the use of Ford original equipment parts when it comes to making the vehicle whole again.

Some Ford vehicles like the F-150 truck use special material such as advanced high-strength steel and military-grade aluminum alloys. Still others may be using carbon fiber, depending on the model line. In many cases, it requires special handling. In those instances, a member of the Ford Collision Care Provider dealer or a Ford Recognized Collision Care independent body shop network may be the only option for getting it repaired properly.

Training

Ford-certified repair and service mechanics receive factory training on the latest techniques and are required to take certification tests. Technical service bulletins are regularly issued to update the 3,000 Ford dealer shops on the latest information to provide a successful repair to your Ford vehicle.

Loan car policy

If your Ford brand vehicle requires warranty repairs within the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty period, alternate transportation may be available through your dealer. Consult with your service advisor for more information. If your Ford vehicle is in for collision repair, the use of a loaner may be covered by an insurance policy rider.

Collision repairs

Ford operates a Collision Care Provider network which is comprised of Ford Certified providers (dealers) and Ford Recognized (independent) providers. Both are certified using the same instructions and techniques and can perform work that is outside the scope of another independent shop.
