Positive Review
Great vehicle with luxury interior/sound. Superb visibility and A!C & heater. Most interior room ever, especially with third seat removed & rear seat flattened. Works flawlessly in snow and stability is unequaled by any truck I've previously owned. Ford did this one right! Not cheap, but better than any GM vehicle I've owned! Good resale value--- think it was a mistake to cease production after 2005!,,
Critical Review
I purchased this vehicle a few years ago. I loved it. It was reasonably reliable (petty issues existed like mirror switches working in only one direction, door lock on passenger door wouldn't lock and eventually stopped altogether, etc) but the real heartbreak came when a MAJOR design flaw became evident. The 6.8L v10 engine aluminium heads are not blessed with adequate spark plug threads. As a result, it will begin to blow spark plugs out of the cylinder heads as the vehicle begins to age (160,000+ miles). Ford released a bulletin recommending welding a thread kit back in, but these are not a reliable fix. I loved that truck until it let me down.

Tons of space for all your people in gear Road. Really nice on the freeway
The 5.4 l V8 only got 14 mi to the gallon on the highway and about 12 mi a gallon around town so it is a gas hog but other than
I had the 5.4 l V8 never had an issue with it. Four-wheel drive. It's a honking huge vehicle. You can put a lot of gear and people in it. It rode really nice. But it go horrible gas mileage like 14 mi to the gallon on the highway at like 72 mph. Anything over that? It got really thirsty. But if you're a guy that likes to haul around a bunch of kids or maybe a hunter and you want to put your dogs in the back plenty of room for that or drive it around on the farm and put baby cows back there. Been there done that. Anyways. Pretty reliable vehicle. No major problems. If you're looking to get a really big SUV, definitely take a look at a Ford Excursion. I would go with a diesel model myself but I didn't know much about them when I bought it.
Moveable pedals (I'm 5'2"). Diesel. No fancy electronics to learn.
Can't think of any.
I bought this gem 6 weeks ago and would do it again in a heartbeat. It arrived by truck from AZ (I'm in RI). It looks like it just left the showroom, beautiful inside, out and under the hood. Runs like a charm and handles like a dream.
Great for traveling the country...very comfortable
Drivers cut in front of you in city traffic-space
Peanut was purchased in Northern California brand new and recently celebrated his 24th birthday! As a professional photographer, I need a vehicle that could carry plenty of lighting systems, grips, light boom and camera equipment. The other large SUVs were too small and unable to compare with Peanut's cubic space...I was sold after the first test drive-amazingly easy to maneuver, spacious for the length of my legs, great visibility of the road from all angles, and the power of the V-10 engine hauled my equipment with such ease it was effortless!! I retired 4 years ago, donated my very expensive medium format cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment. Living now in the mountains of Northern New México and Peanut provides all the power I need to navigate through the canyons and valleys!!! Peanut is so cool on the open roads when I travel and travel I do quite a bit throughout the nation.
vehicle in good condition, from top to bottom, engine, transmission, and power train, I am the only one do mechanical work on this vehicle.
No Pro's
GAS HOG, POLLUTION, V8 GARBAGE ENGINE
((Junkyard vehicle's)) Worthless pile of old metal. These SUVs are trash, and long gone into the junkyard. Beyond terrible gas mileage. Way to big for anything. Good riddance to that big honky tonky V8 engine. Say hello to the new generation of society vehicles.
MPG , Transmission hump in 1st row, Ride quality
I've owned this car (XLT V10 2WD)for 6 months, very powerful, reliable, and practical despite its size. Had some electrical problems with the horn, door locks, and wipers but the Transmission and engine are very good. Looks and feels very solid, I have jackknifed a trailer and it only left a small dent by the Tail light. Roof looks kinda thin though. 😅 I do actually suggest you buy an Excursion vs the Expedition from this model year.

Mpg
This is a great truck and great value. I love everything about this this truck except mpg. It is great on long trips with my family, everyone is comfortable. Remove the 2nd and 3rd row and you have a long bed truck where you can put almost any work equipment or tons of lumber. We feel extremely safe when driving it because its large and heavy. I purchased it with 113k miles in 2022 for $12k and it was a great value considering the market at that time. A year later at 134k miles it still runs great have only had regular maintenance items. Oil changes, brakes, battery, tires and a couple other small items. If you can get one with good maintenance history, it will be a great vehicle.
I ♡ this rig. It's comfortable stylish, lots of room, versable. Very dependable great drivability. Power when you need it, no problem. The only thing I I have a issue with is the gas mileage. As with any bigger rig they use alot of gas. That's expected especially with a V10. This rig has done every thing I've asked of it & gone everywhere I've wanted it to go. Once again Ford has nailed it.
