Positive Review
I trade vehicles in every 2 years- religiously. I get tired of them. My Edge is different- I've had it 3 years now. Perfect size, great to drive, good mileage, can transport anything, I drive cross country in style. Never thought I would be happy with a Ford. I'm a very happy customer!!!
Critical Review
We bought our vehicle almost 2 years ago from a used dealer. I picked a FORD because we previously had a Ford Explore that went over 260000 miles. And I had loved that car. I looked up the reviews on Edge and saw not too many problems, so decided on the vehicle. I have found out that it is all wrong. Im trying to save someone else from the same issues. My water pump must recently went out. And it was located in the engine, thats right, in the engine, right inside the timing belt. Not only could my husband, who had done the majority of the work on our Ford Explorer , not work on the car, The majority of the local mechanics would not work on it either. We found a mechanic, and 3 weeks and $2400 later, we found out that not only had the water pump leaked outside, it had also leaked into the crank case. They flushed out the sludgy oil ( they save it in a water bottle to show us how bad it was), and the engine is still working, but they recommend an oil change in 500 miles, and GET RID OF THE CAR ASAP. My heart sank, and I am extremely sad, because, I love my car. Its comfortable, and roomy. But what Ford put into the car overall for comfort, they forgot to put in to reliability and ease of repair in the engine. Dont buy and Edge. I intend on going to FORD to see if they will do anything. I doubt they will.

I love the great sound system- that might be it. I bought this used car after my SUV was too old to run well. I was attracted to the year, model, and size, and low miles. The copper color stands out. Summer hit. Lots of chrome inside. Lots of glare. Bad blind spots. I had it in the shop so many times, I paid for the car twice within two years (meaning over $6,000), and I am nearly done paying off the car, which is now worth 1/3 of what I am paying for ($6,000 during COVID= below market value then). Every time I took it in for a tire change or oil change, I paid $2,000. I kept changing mechanics, believing I was being ripped off. All the mechanics showed me the issue or pictures of it. the same mechanics I had work on my other vehicles. It's an old car that was well taken care of. I already changed 6 tires on it. I don't get that. Now the CD player quit working (yes, and I have a rare collection), and the AC blows hot air. The electronic driver-side mirror has a mind of its own. Whenever I click the remote locks, the mirror starts moving around. The heat from the sun sitting on my lap from the elongated windshield is as bad as all the glaring chrome I had to paint flat black. I had the windshield tinted darker, too. I don't know how anyone drove this car for over 15 years with glare from the entire front panel of the dashboard. Side note- we had May Gray (a very cloudy sky) the month I purchased the used car in 2023, so I didn't have a glare issue. Before I signed papers to buy the car from a used car lot, I took it to my mechanic. Seat covers do not stay on well, so in the summer, I stick to the seats from the sweat or burn from the heat if I forget the sun visor. I had to get seat belt extenders because searching for the female end was like digging for coins in the seats. The car is roomy, but people complained that the doors are heavy. I didn't. There is an issue with blind spots compared to the SUVs. The license plates from this decade? peel. The most recent fix was the water pump, which took 13 hours to fix and cost $1500. The 'check' engine light gave little time warning when the water pump fried, maybe 5 minutes. The tire pressure light gave little warning when I had a flat tire. I haven't had the best of luck with this vehicle. I don't beat it up. The original copper color is beautiful, as the paint is now peeling. If I sell this car after it is paid off- I was given 4 years, but I am paying it off in 2 years, I will lose all the money I put into it. I prefer an older SUV since they stopped making the great cars. All (makes) are crossovers now, and all look the same.
Comfortable, roomy, quiet
mileage is about 21 gallon, pricey
I went from a RAV4 to a prius during a slight period of insanity. I saw the used EDGE at FORD and drove it around. It's a limited and it has metalic black outside. Inside is heater seating with seat warmers. I would make the front seat more able to go back because I'm only 5'7" and I put it back as far as the driver's seat with go. The seats fold down. I wanted to mke the SUV a camper for me and my dog, but it seems to entail taking out the back seats, which I am not up to doing. I'll try one of thoise blow up beds. I like this better than the RAV4. The years and packages were about the same. The FORD had a better sun roof and a quieter ride. The RAV4 had slightly better mileage. The ford is more comfortable.
Pretty cool. Mine is blue with the 3.5L V-6 and the SEL trim. 170,000 miles on the odometer, but it's still doing its job very well.

I have had my 2008 Ford Edge since 2013. She was beautiful, and caught my eye right away. She has been an excellent car, having had 45,000 miles on her at the time. She now has 144,000 & a few miles. She has rarely been sick and is the best car I've ever had. Thank you Ford. I hope to keep her for a few more years. She doesn't have rear backup camera but I manage. I can't since my phone with her but I refuse to use phone when driving. Thank you for my beauty..
Stability, comfort, style, mechanically sound, bea
Recalls on both front airbags but easily fixed for
My 2007 Ford Edge SEL Plus has been an awesome driving experience. This vehicle is extremely sound and if problems do need to be repaired, parts are reasonably priced. Mine has 220,000 miles on it and has no mechanical issues at all, very little rust, and beautiful leather interior. With that many miles I have only had to replace one passenger rear wheel bearing, rear shocks, brake pads, and a brake booster. I also change my oil every 5,000 miles and recently replaced the air filter and the cabin filter ($6 each). I am amazed and pleased with the way it handles and it runs like a dream! Mine has 18" wheels and a tow package.
