I bought this car in 2019 with 79,000 miles on it for $2,000 and have been driving it trouble free ever since. I now have 140,000 on it and don't question it's reliability. Transmission shifts like butter and the engine runs flawlessly. I have owned a number of Toyota 4x4's and found myself constantly sinking money into them to keep them on the road so the last three years of owning this car have been very refreshing and easy on the wallet. This car is the definition of "couch on wheels." This car's only downfall is the gas. I can only use premium here in Denver because the lower grade fuels cause the engine to spark knock which can damage valves over time. Despite this issue I regularly average around 21 MPG which is great for a V8.

I completely understand why Police Departments all over the USA chose this particular vehicle. Mine thankfully does NOT have the CNG Package and I still get the gas mileage close to this vehicle's showroom specs. It was maintained very well by the vehicle's last owner. Mine has a little over 130,000 miles on it, yet she still starts up on a super cold Texas winter night at first ignition. No upgrades have been done to her and she drives wonderfully. I'm happy that I got her and she's got a long, comfortable life ahead of her.

It was my moms ...she wanted a car with get up and go and this car delivered. This is one amazing ride......0 rust.....very clean inside...still smells fresh and so fun to drive!! I really love this car and wouldnt hesitate to buy brand new. Very hardy and never needed any major repairs...and if it does...its worth fixing...great car:)

We bought this LX in 2004,with 45k miles, and still drive it daily 14 years later, now with 228000K miles. Several years ago we replaced the intake manifold, and have had no other major problems since. The motor is still tight, the transmission is smooth. Outside of normal replacing parts, e.g., serpentine belt, alternator, batteries, AC hose etc., It is all original. Not a tear on the upholstery.We just got back from a 4400 mile trip, ave 24 mpg at 75 mph. The worst we have gotten is 22. It is quick, responsive and quiet. My only problem is, having gotten stiff in neck and back it has become hard to get into, but thats my fault, not the car. Shows what happens when you change the fluids regularly....

Ive had nothing but trouble with this car since day one. Its went through 2 transmissions, a radiator and 1 intake manifold. Not very reliable at all, no wonder people just derby these junkers.

Once you get used to the sheer mass of this truly full sized car, you will never look at any other car segment in the same way.

Had the car since new. Completely bullet proof. Decent 4.6 litre V8 makes 210 horsepower and in the high 200's for torque. Easily enough to get the car around quickly, and it makes a great noise while doing it. The only problem is the 2v in the crown vic always cracked the intake. I replaced mine with a aluminum intake. Always loved the car, and always will. Would recommend it to anyone who wanted a decent reliable car.

Had the car about 5 years. LX, HPP package. Came with the intake manifold replacement. Proactively stay ahead of maintenance and cleaning needs. Car still looks sharp, in and out! This car has a great ride. Very smooth, yet handling is a lot like a sports car. Hypermiling on highway actually returned 27.5 mpg. Normal in town driving less than half that. My wife is the main driver, and she keeps praising the comfort. Never had to touch the A/C. Don't use the original jack holding brackets.
