Positive Review
I've owned this Lusso for a little more than a month. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, for me the Spider is absolutely gorgeous. Test drove both auto and manual. Have to say that my personal preference was manual - a bit more driver engagement, but wife said that if we were to get one at all, it had to be automatic - an acceptable compromise. On the open highway at speed there isn't much need to shift anyway, and in city traffic, it's less of a hassle to not shift. Sports cars are, in general, known to have harsh rides - not the Fiat 124 Spider. It handles superbly like a true sports car, and yet has a very comfortable ride. This is not a muscle car, but is lightweight, nimble, peppy, and has magnificent handling. Always puts a smile on my face, and my wife enjoys the ride too. I could not be more satisfied.
Critical Review
The center touch/control panel is nearly worthless. It is not user friendly; and in the daylight it is not visible and hence; does not perform at any level.

Great handling, excellent mid range torque, excellent reliability, fantastic looks, excellent reliability
Can be a tight fit for large or tall drivers, cup holders could be hetter
I am very late to this thread however I wanted to add my review. I own a 2018 Fiat 124 Spider Lusso and I have owned it for about 2 years. Mine isn’t modified in the powertrain except for a turbo blanket to keep the underhood plastic and rubber parts safe from high temperatures. I have added a few bits and bobs to the car but nothing extravagant just a few personal things to improve the look and function of the roadster. I bought mine with 5000 km on the odometer so it was practically new and I have found it be be reliable and pretty low cost to own. The real thing though is I absolutely love the style and it is amazingly fun to own and drive. I have always liked the Mazda Miata MX-5 however the 124 Spider just has the looks that I adore. Long hood, short rear deck and the looks of roadsters that I loved in the 60s, 70s & 80s and never owned or never fell out of love with. When I was looking to buy a Roadster 2 years ago I drove many Miata’s of various generations and really was planning to like buy an ND Miata until I discovered the Fiat 124 Spider. I looked at several and test drove them. I decided I wanted a red Lusso 6 speed manual transmission which wasn’t easy to find as most 124s were automatic and when I found my low mileage Red Lusso 6 speed I bought it and never looked back. It really is unfortunate that Fiat (Stellantis)did such a poor job of promoting this vehicle. It would have been absolutely great to have witnessed updates and maybe improved power in years that followed 2020 same as we have seen in the MX-5. Stellantis seemed to have a short attention span on their vehicles. I am glad that Mazda/Fiat did strike a deal to produce the 124 though and equally glad that I get to own and drive one.
I have had 3 of these. I just traded and got the blue one which is very rare. These will be a collectors item. The price KBB is saying is ridiculous. You couldn't pay me enough for my baby. It drives great, never had any issues, will be highly sought after, butbI am keeping it until I die. Only way I would trade mine is if I could find a manual. These cars are hard to find. Get one now before the value skyrockets.
EVERYTHING!
rear wheel drive and low profile not amazing for snow but it’s doable with extra weight and good tires
Cute, compact, great gas mileage and turbo to boot! Fits everything I need and is incredibly fun to drive. Stylish, well made, and definitely a head turner (especially the lusso and abarth). Amazing value for a super lux and reliable car.
As you fit into your Spider, you know you’re in a very very special rare sports car. The Sexy Italian design gets many looks! It is quick and a delight to drive, it turns when you do! It takes curves like your driving at Le Mans! The top is always down! The Mazda mx5 engine combined with the Fiat Turbo gives you security that the engine won’t fail. The black paint with green flecks is awesome combined with the camel interior. For the price, you will not find a better sports car that holds its value!. It is truly a magnificent well built machine and this is NOT a toy! Oh, rare? They stopped production in 2020 so now they’re rare. No I’m not selling for all the money in the world. It’s that gorgeous!
Fun fun fun and easy to wash lol
I have the Lusso Red top edition. It’s my all time favorite car I’ve ever owned. My only negative is my husband’s a giant lol but that’s not the cars fault! 😝 he’ll still be a sport and get in (top down) on rare occasion. (6’6”) 😃 #lovemyroadster
So much fun! Top down on a sunny day… you just can’t beat it. The best of Italian styling combined with Japanese manufacturing.
Fun to drive, smiling all the way.
The interior is not very roomy, trunk is good size
The car is a blast to drive with the top down. Which can be done in less than 3 seconds up or down. The sport mode is perfect for tooling along city streets or accelerating up the freeway on ramp. Cruise work’s best most of the time. As this car can certainly get out of its own way. I am stopped often by car people asking what kind of car it is as it is beautiful with the red body and black racing stripe.
Fun to drive
Puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it. Owned since new, and never been back to the dealer for more than an oil change. Quality is top notch. Very fun to drive. I'm 6'3" and I've driven this car on several long trips (multiple day journeys) and it's tight but very comfortable.
