Positive Review
There isn't much out there quite like a Twin Turbo Stealth / 3000GT. It has almost every feature imaginable for a 1992 model car. During the first 6 months of ownership, each time you tinker with the car, you learn of another feature you wouldn't think the car would have. If you are poor, a turbocharged Stealth is not the car for you and you must not let your lust for it overcome you. It seems to be built quite well and reliable, but when something does go wrong, it is expensive to fix. In my opinion, the common mechanical issues these cars have are the result of abuse and hard driving due to their sporty nature. And also, these cars have so many parts throughout--the adjustable suspension, variable tone exhaust, all wheel drive, all wheel steering, 2 turbochargers, 2 intercoolers, big fat tires, anti-lock brakes, pneumatic clutch assist, consealed headlights plus more I am forgetting. So with all this stuff, chances of something somewhere going wrong is greater than that of a much simpler Geo Metro. It handles awesome, it is very fast, traction is not an issue in rain or dry pavement, and to lose control of it, you have to be doing something incredibly stupid. A hard launch will spin all four wheels on dry pavement... but that can't be good for the car. With the automatic climate controls, my feet never get cold, I never get too hot. The radio stays working when you turn the key off until you open the door, the headlights do something similar to the radio's function, It may as well not have a rear seat. Trunk space is sufficient, but very shallow. The rear seats fold down for extra accomodability though. Getting in and out isn't the easiest. Head room is okay. The doors open and close like a brand new 2009 car. Gas mileage is around 21-25 mpg... usually 23. The car requires dedication to own, and a good job helps, too.
Critical Review
i have had this car for along time and it has been very good to me the only problem is that the driver side control arm is broken i have replaced it once before from the original part but they replaced it with a cheap Chinese part so it broke again other than a few scratches, and in the near life ahead going the need a new engine or rebuild the one that is in there

quick
Sits low to ground hard to get in to and also
this vehicle is an EXCELENT VEHICLE a bit hard to get in to the vehicle is low to the ground so it's kind of tough to get in to and similarly tough to get out of overall I would reccommend this vehicle b/c it's a very quick vehicle which i'm a bit of an adrenaline freak
styling, comfort, handling
wish it had more horses!!
Just inherited an unmolested 1992 Stealth TT from dad who passed. Completely stock and in excellent condition. Drives like its on rails, not super fast compared to today's cars but does have some get up when the turbos kick in. The all wheel drive and all wheel steering are really neat features. Adjustable exhaust sound (why would you NOT have it on "Sport" all the time??). Awesome styling. Drove it from Ohio down to NC. Thumbs up all the time, a guy actually wanted to buy it from me at a stop on the way. Its red with black interior. Unfortunately I have to sell in the near future since I just acquired his unrestored 1935 2 door Chevy Master Coach. The Stealth is really cool and I will certainly miss it
Sounds great
Ac works when it wants to
Well, I'm a 16yo with a 92 dodge stealth rt 5speed for a first car, the cars name is Stacey and she is my daily for going to school, work and going to Jack and the box for their tacos. The first thing you may of thought about was insurance, well insurance for this is not bad, the same as it would of been if it was a Camry or a Impala. Sure this car is slow for modern standards but it feels dang fast, foot to the floor peak power feels to come around 3,500 to 4,000 rpm, and you do feel that kick on the onramp. This car looks better the more you look at it, The build quality on this feels pretty good, for it being a 28yo car (by the time I wrote this) it feels like a modern Honda, if not better Gas mileage is ehh, you get about 400 miles out of a tank. But the sound of the 3 liter engine is worth it Has okay reliability for being a 90s kid, I do have to add oil every week or two but it has no cooling issues (lifter knock is just unavoidable, just accept it). Value? Not much to the dealerships eyes, this isn't the praised rt twin turbo, but does this mean Stacey isn't cool? Hecc no. I get compliments almost everyday, people who know this car, love this car. One of the things about this car is that almost everyone else and their headlights are at your eye level and at night, that's not fun. Oh yeah, 2nd gear is moody and doesn't want to be shifted into on cold mornings until 7am, just like us. "Don't talk to me Karen, It's 6:34 am and I don't want to hear your cbd oil stuff" Generally, if you want a fun weekend car for Going to the local car show, or just to look cool in I'd definitely say this.
Great car, great value
Don't buy a 24 valve version
Pricey when bought new in 1992 at close to $22K but never a breakdown in 27 years. Still with original motor and transmission. Had to replace the ECU a couple of times and the TCU in 2018. Normal oil changes every 3000 miles, wonderful car. Just gave it to my son, still going.
Good looking car not many around
There isn’t more around
Much throughout the 1990s these cars per very much ahead of their time the TwinTurbo versions were one of the best sports cars you could buy for the price at the time they feel extremely sporty wherever I go I turn heads driving mine
Engine rebuild cost $6000..then $2000 add. repairs
Interior wear to front seats.
Roof and Headlight- black accents on Silver Body..Chrome Wheels (Re-Chromed, directional wheels..good Condition. Extra wheels and tires. Engine runs great..oil pump, exhaust system, shocks and suspension replaced..Still turns Heads and younger people think it's some new model car...don't see many now!
fun to drive
no cons
Only one major repair in eighteen years, timing belt.
drives exelent, lots of pep, great quality overall
very heavy cup holders are specail order item
i bought it used with 200k miles 4th owner i believe. my automatic transmission is a little sluggish some times but it is the original transmission and is the only problem i notice. it has great power and the ride quality is superb for a sports car. it feels very solid at high speeds drives like a go-cart despite being 3500# I dont know why it has back seats besides putting in a child's car seat its useless.. i plan on buying the all wheel drive version as my next car
