Positive Review
I've had two of these...88 & 89. Both with the 318. The later with FI carb. Most reliable engine out there. Easiest vehicle of it's era to fix. Lots of room in the engine compartment, though I rarely have to spend any time in there. Just a water pump on the 89, which I currently own. This one still looks new inside and out. On the highway? Rock solid ride. The beach? Goes through anything, but I reccomend softening the tires. Fuel consumption is always a problem. 11 in the city and not much better on the highway unless you travel around 60. Not made for speed. No overdrive on the transmission. But that will make repairs to less costly. In fact. the parts for this are so cheap, it makes up for the mileage. I've owned a lot of trucks, and this one is by far the most reliable. Dubbed "The Family Rig". A real truck. Have the chance to own one? Do it. Soon. There're hard to find anymore. Currently considering trading it for something more long trip/higway friendly and it seems the dealers can't wait to get their hands on it. Was offered something worth twice the book value as an even trade.

Dodge ramcharger is very rare and I have no idea why its like a tank with super powerful motor even has fuel injection and ac exelent truck but its too rare for kelly book
Easy to drive, safe to drive, never dies.
cup holders suck, gas mileage isnt the best
If anyone ever comes to Sarasota, you will see this truck. GasHog is labeled across the front window. My RamCharger is a 1986 with a 318 v8. I love this truck with everything. I will never sell it. I will never let it die. I have fixed it myself for the 3 years i have owned it. I bought this truck when i was 16, for $350. I have put over 30,000 miles on it. I have driven it into lakes, mud holes, chased horses and cattle. I also rely on this truck to get me to college. Since i have maintained everything on it, it gets 18mpg on the highway. I have all of the original paperwork from the factory and every year it was registered. I have a CB Antenna off the left back bumper and this truck is my life. I want another one, i am going to install a 5 speed in Gas Hog and put a 12 vaulve Cummins in another one i want to buy. I have plans and i love this truck.
good plow truck very strong in snow but body roll was bad off road
This is my second RC, i loved my first one i had several yrs ago so i bought another one last yr. Wish i could get better mpg and common problem is rear hatch with the hinges but other then that is the only complaints i can think of. This truck is a monstar, will run for ever and will go anywhere. This will past by other 4x4s straning or stuck with no problem. They continue to make these RCs in Mexico. I would love to buy a newer one!!
great trucks, run for 250000+ miles, workhorse, not the most comfortable truck but gets the job done, only down side is dodge only focuses on long lasting drivetrains and everything else is kinda thrown together
Bought 'Bob' new back in 1987 and he's been a very reliable performer till today (2010).
