"6200 lb civilian tank that will pull a house"

I love this B250 Dodge Conversion Van. It doesn't get bad mileage considering its payload and its great on long trips. The only thing I don't like on it, Is the fuel delivery system has a lot to be desired. 1989 through 1991 were the throttle body issues, but even with that tinkering, It isn't bad.

Critical Review

"One rugged old truck"

I was issued a 1989 Dodge Ram Wagon B350 by the Civil Air Patrol as my official vehicle back in 1996. This vehicle went over 220,000 very difficult miles with very few problems. Worst issues concerned rust, weatherstripping fit poorly (probably contributed to the rust), air conditioning system leaked freon, would eat a set of front brake pads and discs every 30k miles, also never could get the front end aligned and keep it in alignment. 318 V8 with 727 Torqueflite Automatic, both still soldiering on without a rebuild at 220k miles when it was returned to the Air Force for bid sale. This was a government contract vehicle so it had no power options and a vinyl interior (no armrests which was annoying!). The headliner was made of heavy fiberboard and fell out, it was so heavy I attached it to the roof with sheet metal screws and a power screwdriver!!! Used vehicle for 12 years to haul people, supplies, and on rare occasion to pull other vehicles out of the mud or tow aircraft. Never let me down but electrical issues and fuel system (carburetor?) issues at the end of its lifespan were a concern. If maintained to factory specs and garaged it would probably last a much longer time. I'd recommend this Dodge full-size van, it served its mission well.

An ok runner

My mom had this old 15 passenger van since new. I recently got the vehicle from her. It hasn't been run in 10 years. I finally got it running. I ran it around town and it ran fine. It was a special custom handicapped package without the hightop roof. It does have rust and it runs really rough. Soon I will be running this van everyday. It has more than 150k miles. I like it but it still has its flaws. The AC broke in 1997 and It hasnt been replaced. But Im 16 and I like it.
