Reluctantly bought it new in 2000. Loved it after that. Ran great. Looked great. My issue was gas mileage. Remember in early 2000's, gas was "less expensive" So it hurts a lot more now to fill it up. 18 gal. tank at $4.00/gal. Drove like a car. Have replaced tires, alternator, and fuel pump. Also changed some front suspension parts, but overall this baby was a good vehicle. Very dependable.
Critical Review
This was a complete waste of my time I just wanted to know what the value of this vehicle was on Kelley blue book and I spent 15 minutes typing stuff for it to tell me that I need to take it to a dealer for a cash value and I did not ask for that I asked for a rough value of this vehicle. I will never use this website again as long as I live!!!!

Father bought vehicle new as a work truck and it has been worked ever since. Immediately the bed removed and utility box installed and loaded with equipment . Gross weight 12,000-14,000 on and off road. It has had a very rough life with less than ideal maintenance and only time ever in a paid shop was for a new motor at about 140,000 due to bad pop off valve and nothing done about it till it went catastrophic. Total negligence of owner at fault. It’s on its second flywheel and fourth maybe fifth clutch mainly due to bad habits. At stop lites even on hills he would slip the clutch rather than simply neutral and brake and most recent clutch and flywheel I was at fault for pulling stumps out along driveway 3”-5” dia. Utilizing every option from 2hi thru 4hi eventually in 4low hubs locked granny low with the turbo slightly spoiled when the spring packs in the disc let go. Luckily for me I’m an expert in replacing the clutch already. We have always cheated I believe from the very first time dealing with the wider top vs bottom configuration of the crossmember. We have always used a porta power to spread the frame to remove and install crossmember. On 2or 3rd blower motor cuz kicking it when first stops working will buy you another 6-9 months minimum before forced to change! I don’t know how many sets of tires because when you put off replacing tie rods/ steering components till there so bad you don’t know how they didn’t just separate on their own! Brakes nothing unusual until the truck pulls hard braking and one caliper sticking but still drivable.eventually found it to be an easy fix with a large flat blade screwdriver. The front rubber brake lines have a bracket that wraps around the line in 3 spots and rusts and swells pinching line closed. Simply insert tip in gap of bracket pry apart some and then use handle to hit bracket knocking rust debris out unpinching line! Don’t use the cruise control because you think u have it set correctly only to become aware you are gradually still accelerating to infinity if don’t disengage. I believe there’s a recall on that, maybe? And keep a brick, block something on driver side floor either front or back to block your tire if ever wanna leave running while not behind the wheel cuz park break didn’t work reliably ever! One last thing due to higher speed limits at higher sustained rpm’s the filler cap needs replaced by a clamp on air filter to prevent loosing almost a gallon in 30 miles of oil out the factory valve cover vent. Prior to the fill neck vent it was a gallon rotella jug on its side cap up facing driver side bailing wired and zip tied to back of transfer case skid plate with vent tube plumbed into to catch the oil and be able to transfer back into engine to o make it home without buying a gallon every time left the city limits. It’s still in my driveway about to take it to grocery store. What I’m trying to say is if maintained correctly and driven responsibly it would have to be one of the most reliable and dependable vehicles on the road literally have never been stranded and it has never needed to be towed! Almost forgot only fluid it leaks is gear oil but not from differentials but shifter tower on transmission the four 1/4 inch bolts holding shifter down loosen and or break regularly these days have helli coiled all but one so far and currently loose again. But I’m not to worried about it!!
It runs
This website gave zero info
Had no information about a 2000 dodge ram 1500. This website is getting worse and worse as time goes
i came in to get my trucks values. i put in vin and tag info and filled out everything it asked. when i got to the screen to see the value it says im missing info!! its the info you gave me stupid how can i not see the value when i went through your process dumb!!
I am the only owner; the truck has 327,000 miles, new paint, interior and the motor was replaced at 297,000 (but really didn’t have to); the transmission and rear differential were overhauled at the same time. I want to sale it, but don’t know what price to put on it? Need help?
I even enter my VIN and it keeps saying value unavailable! I entered all the options as requested and still says value unavailable...
I have a 5.2 Liter engine in my 97 Dodge Ram Club Cab it still runs great and I have 250000 miles on it. The dash was the first thing that I had to replace.
I would have gave this truck 5 stars but the dash panel is not worth 2 cents...all cracked and in pieces from the sun...Also fenders around rear wheels beginning to rust ,I had the vehicle under coated thank goodness...or would of been lot worst .
I have owned my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 V10, with a work bed and tool boxes, to include a ladder rack and winch with push Guard. I used my truck for my business since 2004 while living in CA. I traveled through CA. performing my Contracting business. Which I have had this truck loaded down with equipment and ladders . I did add a second battery in the back tool bid, which provided more cranking power. I have enjoyed owning my Ram, have had no major issues.
