"Nice Truck but with Issues"

Love the way the truck handles and drives. Truck has gone six years\170000 miles without needing alignment. The 5.7 Hemi is a great motor and gets good mileage for what it is, but it will develop the "Hemi Tick." The four wheel drive system seems very fragile. Transmission Shift solenoid has failed twice, leaving me in "limp" mode. Chrysler replaced under warranty without hassle. ALL FOUR door lock actuators have failed and they are very expensive to replace. The electronic climate control system is also problematic. It has been re-programmed twice; now the air flow gate has broken leaving woefully insufficient air flow for air conditioning. Fixing it entails removing the entire dashboard, a $1000 dollar minimum repair. Informed auto techs tell me that Chrysler has known about the problems with the lock actuators and air flow gates for years but has not fixed the problem. If you buy one don't plan on keeping it over three years.

"Horrible Truck"

I have no idea what they are talking about these biased reviews on the dodge 2500 Heavy duty pickup. It is annthing but heavy duty. These guys see a nice shiny truck and some tow numbers( supposedly a good tow # means a heavy duty well made truck that doesnt break,,,Really?. News alert 99 percent of truck buyers dont use even 1/2 of tow rating ability lets just clear that up right now !! Ive owned alot of truck granted they were all chevys and fords and never have I seen a supposedly heavy duty truck break down mechanically working with it as much as this truck. Own this truck and drive this truck instead of rating it for smooth ride on a road and shiny paint and tow ability and you will have a truck that Fals Apart..My truck has 48k miles in 5 years and lets see now what has broke... The window motor has broke on the drivers side( unreal), the cup holder button snapped off and broke $(500 almost),the plastic molding strip on hood broke off ( wasnt sealed right at factory), The Power Steering Pump has Broke ( real junk, how this breaks at 44k miles ?? ),The 4 wheel drive does not work in low at all and in fact gets stuck there often, I tried to drive in the snow and it says 4 wh drive on dash yet is in 2 wheel Drive ( useless, shop says very expensive repair, also of note is the sheet metal on body doors is very thin and dents so easily even from leaning on it with cloths ,,unreal just unreal Left it alone for now... I just cant believe everyone in press praises these trucks on seeing it in showroom ignoring that this heavy duty truck is made like paper and falls apart

325,444 km's - Still going strong!

Due to careless drivers I've had to replace my truck 4 times in the past 5 years. Always Dodge Ram1500's, started with '04, then '08, '06 and now 2010. Loved my '08, but this 2010 Laramie is just awesome! Bought is in 2022 with 213,000 km's, and apart from a wear crack on the front driver seat, it was in mint showroom condition. I've had to replace the fuel pump, and of course brakes and tires. Otherwise everything is still in perfect working condition. I do have a service four-wheel drive code that comes up, but four-wheel drive is working fine so I'm not sure what that's about. I also have an ESP code that comes up. I had the module replaced, but it didn't work for whatever reason. The code is still showing, but it doesn't seem to affect anything. I use my truck to tow a small Boston Whaler with a 30 Merc motor, a trailer that's made out of an old Ram truck box, and a trailer that has my 8-ft camper on it. It handles great while towing, while launching my boat and when parking my camper trailer - it backs up like a dream. The motor runs very quietly and the stereo cranks. The interior is super roomy and comfortable - the kids love it too. There is some rust on the bottom of the passenger door, but I believe that's from prior damage not being fixed. And there is some rust just starting underneath the front fender flares. But this truck is still growing strong at 26 years old and 325,000 km!!

09 Ram 1500 Hemi Crew Cab

Best truck I’ve ever owned and with the junk Ford, GM and Chrysler is putting out at this time it’s a good thing because it is looking like I’m gonna need to keep it for the rest of my life. We only use it to tow my wife’s 30’ RV during summer months and it’s stored in the winter.

Owned since new in 2010
Pros

Reliable, tough, beautiful interior. Love the over the wheel well tool boxes as welland an actual Plug in the dash

Cons

Rear bumper rust

This has been the best truck I have ever owned! It has been the most reliable vehicle, getting me out of some places and situations I know I would not have escaped with previous trucks ( both Fords). Even at 14 years old it has out pulled Fords, GMC’s and newer Dodge Tams oddly. . It has cost me next to nothing in repairs over the years. I have completed regular maintenance of course, but expensive repairs have never occurred. Other than I choose to replace the rusted bumper. This bumper issue does appear to be this trucks weak spot.

Best Pick-up I have ever had; and I'm 75
Pros

Great to drive

Cons

None

This Ram truck turned me on when I turned it on. I love this truck. Sadly, I need a 3500 to pull a travel trailer that is larger than this 1500 should pull very often. It has the power and airbags to make it work, but it needs to be with a family that does not need to tow a larger travel trailer. It is set up to pull a trailer, so if you have a smaller trailer to pull, this is the vehicle for you. I really am not excited to sell it, just won't need it sitting in my parking lot without getting used.

2009 Dodge Ram 1500 is great
Pros

Good reliable truck so far

Cons

Rusts really easily

I got this pickup from my dad when he passed. It's been pretty reliable. Dodge has rust issues though. No key fobs but it has electric locks and windows. I like the way Chevy does their options more than Dodge. So many things standard with Chevy and Dodge seems to not want to put in standard features. Not sure if they changed their ways.
