Unique, well built, design and engineering.
Some cheap plastic. Early model gremlins.
These cars are very underrated. They were designed by the greatest designer of the 20th century(Giugiaro). They were equipped with an all alloy European OHC v6 mounted longitudinally, a German transaxle, and state of the art electronics mounted on a smooth, solid and tight French chassis. The Dodge Monaco and sister car Eagle Premier were assembled in the newest, most advanced assembly plant in North America(Bramalea, Ontario), and were sold at a very competitive price. Its' competition was crude by comparison(Ford Taurus, Chevy Lumina, Dodge Dynasty). A victim of the AMC-Chrysler merger, they didn't sell well(because people didn't know what they were, and Chrysler didn't know how to sell them), so unfortunately few people have had the privilege to enjoy them. Some early models had various bugaboos, but the later versions were sorted out.
