Positive Review
Love the cummins engine. Strong and very efficient. Automatic transmission shifts slow without some aftermarket work. Absolutely love driving this truck.
Critical Review
5.9 gas engine great. Rest of the truck is very poor. Between the transmission of flawed design (A318) and poor quality of components this has been a real hard and expensive vehicle to keep on the road. I'm hearing that anything newer than this, especially the diesels, are a marked improvement. Gosh only knows what Fiat will do to this marque - I hear the Dakota is on the chopping block.

cool pickup
lots of Torque and power for hills with a load.
More noise than most gas engines.
I love the truck with its reliability and performance. I haul good loads and plow snow with impressive performance. The ride is firm and not what some people would like.
excellent driver
typical diesel no computer engine noise
automatic, electric windows, air update, tires brakes new, great driver like new truck, new carpet headliner and dash protector, cummings 5.9 /banks booster, good mileage, extra trany cooler for towing, heavy trailer hitch and mid bed hitch for gooseneck trailer, few scratches no rust or dents.

Turn the key always starts first turn, if you go two turns its out of fuel. If out of fuel open 2 injectors 13/16 wrench add fuel start up. Bullet proof truck, excellent fuel economy, very strong pulling power, extremely reliable. Will cold start ( Canadian winter cold start ) by switching to 0 weight oil. Will even start with out plugging in. Did you read above 600,000 miles......... I liked it so much I now have 6 of em.
owned since 2001. Never left me stranded. A couple batteries over the years, oil changes at 3000 miles and other regular maintenance. Bullet proof truck, basic in design and reliable as the day is long. he don't make them like this anymore. Plan to leave to the kids when I'm gone as I suspect it will outlast me.
