KBB Review Highlights
Shrugging off the staid stereotype of the minivan, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica delivers buyers an elevated experience. The seamless available AWD system offers a stable drive and increased traction where needed. Equipped well, even in its base, with a 287-horsepower V6, the drive is smooth and complimented nicely by the 9-speed automatic transmission. In the plug-in hybrid version, the transition between EV mode and gasoline engine is discreet and smooth.
One of the benefits of a well-designed minivan is the comfortable access to each row afforded by the vehicle’s layout. With second-row captain’s chairs or a 3-person bench, the 2021 Pacifica can seat 7 or 8. Actual space exists in each of the three rows for full-size humans.
The front of the cabin is dominated by a 10.1-inch UConnect-enabled touchscreen infotainment system. Chrysler equips the Pacifica with Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility. It also offers the new version of Fam-Cam, a helpful tool that lets you view the vehicle’s interior from various camera angles. With comfortable seating, power-sliding side doors, and generous cargo space featuring Stow’n’Go, which allows second and third-row seating to fold directly into the floor, the Pacifica offers a welcoming space for all occupants.
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica’s exterior styling is distinctive, drawn in soft lines that swoop and cradle. A new grille is centered on the front, leading to LED headlights and fog lights. The body is wider and smoother. New designs on the alloy wheels anchor the new look for 2021. Sizes vary based on the trim, topping out with the new-for-2021 Pinnacle trim’s 20-inch wheels.
The Pacifica is one of the most fuel-efficient minivans on the market. It is available in four models: Touring, Touring L, Limited, and the new-for-2021 Pinnacle, as well as two powertrains. The gas-only version uses a 3.6-liter V6 paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, while the Hybrid variant amps up the power with two lithium-ion battery-powered electric motors. The Hybrid version can travel up to 32 miles on pure electric power, increasing its range to 520 miles.
Several drive-enhancing features in the highest Pinnacle trim can be purchased as add-ons in the lower trims. The 360-degree camera, the family-favorite rear-seat entertainment system, the stowed-in vehicle vacuum, and an extra 110-volt outlet are the most intriguing. Trims above the base Touring receive perforated leather upholstery and heated front seats. That said, even the base comes fully equipped with a comprehensive set of safety features, including tri-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, a powered tailgate, and an 8-way adjustable driver’s seat.
