2025 Hyundai Palisade vs. 2025 Kia Telluride Comparison

The Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride are platform mates. That means that although they hail from different brands, they’re mechanically almost identical, with the same chassis and engine. The differences between these 3-row SUVs primarily have to do with aesthetics and feature content, which can be enough to make one right for you over the other.

Let’s take a closer look at two of our favorite midsize SUVs and see which better suits your wants and needs.

2025 Hyundai Palisade

2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy

What makes the Hyundai Palisade different from the Kia Telluride becomes clear in its upper trims, namely the Caligraphy and Caligraphy Night Edition models. These luxurious trims unlock features that you can’t get in the Telluride while retaining a price tag lower than a similar SUV from a luxury brand. Pricing starts at $38,575

Hyundai Palisade Highlights:

Power-folding third-row seats: Sometimes you need those extra seats, sometimes you don’t. When you don’t, they’re easy to fold down with available power-folding; just push a couple of buttons, and down they go. You can also get a heated third row in the Palisade, which is uncommon.

Passenger Talk: The Passenger Talk intercom system available in the Palisade makes this SUV an even better family vehicle. It makes answering the question, “Are we there yet?” a little easier on your voice.

Ergo Motion seat: Borrowed from the Genesis luxury brand, the Ergo Motion driver’s seat in the Palisade Caligraphy trims has air pockets that automatically adapt to drive modes and driving conditions. This supremely comfortable seat helps reduce fatigue on long drives.

2025 Kia Telluride

2025 Kia Telluride

The Kia Telluride is a repeat winner of our KBB Best Buy Award for a midsize SUV because it gets just about everything right. It has a roomy, well-equipped interior, a handsome exterior, an outstanding warranty, impressive resale value, and a starting price under $40,000. It’s one of the best family haulers this side of a minivan. Pricing starts at $37,805.

Kia Telluride Highlights:

More cargo space: Although they’re so similar, the Kia Telluride has 16 percent more cargo space behind the third row than the Hyundai Palisade. Definitely something to keep in mind if those third-row seats will be in use every day.

X-Pro models: The EX X-Pro and SX-Prestige X-Pro trims of the Kia Telluride have greater off-road capability than anything in the Palisade’s model range. In addition to a rugged appearance package and standard all-wheel drive (AWD), they have all-terrain tires, more ground clearance, and an increased towing capacity of 5,500 pounds.

A little more affordable: The value-conscious shopper will notice that the Telluride’s base and top trims are a bit cheaper than the Palisade’s bottom and top trims.

Conclusion

The Kia Telluride is the more practical and budget-friendly option of these two, mainly because it has a little more cargo space and is a little cheaper. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Palisade is the more premium option, with a few features in the Caligraphy trims that you can’t get in the Telluride. With that in mind, the right SUV for you depends on which side of that coin you find more appealing.
