Three-row SUV buyers seem to have more vehicles to choose from every year. Choosing the right model for your budget and family has never been easy. It only grows more complicated as more automakers enter the field, and buyers have gas-powered, electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid choices.
Neither the Hyundai Palisade nor the Buick Enclave makes the best-sellers list, but each has important charms that might make it the best choice for you.
The Enclave is entirely new for 2025, redesigned from the ground up with unique style and a powerful turbocharged engine. The Palisade counters with a strong value argument, near-luxury trimmings for a comparatively low price, and a warranty that can make a family budget more predictable.
Let’s check out these two large SUVs.
2025 Hyundai Palisade
The Palisade is the top of the Hyundai lineup with an impressive combination of looks, performance, comfort, and technology.
It offers a minivan-like maximum seating capacity of eight, a 291-horsepower V6, and, increasingly rare in this segment, a starting price under $40,000. Shoppers should know that Hyundai and Kia share part ownership and use many common parts in building their cars. The Kia Telluride has won our Best Buy Award in this segment five years in a row, but it shares almost all of its parts and traits with the Palisade.
Pricing starts at $38,215, including destination charge.
Hyundai Palisade Highlights
Safety-minded: Hyundai’s SmartSense suite of safety technology is standard across the Palisade trim levels. It includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, navigation-based adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and more.
Easy access to tech: Few things are more frustrating than trying to navigate a series of menus on a small touchscreen. Fortunately, that’s not a problem with the massive 12.3-inch screen in the Hyundai Palisade.
Outstanding warranty: Hyundai’s 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty offer you peace of mind — for a decade. If you’ll keep your next car for a long time, that’s meaningful financial stability. Hyundai also throws in a 3-year/36,000-mile complimentary maintenance plan. But buyers shouldn’t overvalue that — a car needs limited maintenance when it’s young.

2025 Buick Enclave
Buick styles itself a luxury automaker, but these days, its prices sometimes make it competitive with more mainstream brands. Buick completely redesigned the Enclave for 2025. The result is a sharp-looking car with one of the more powerful engines in its class and the option of GM’s Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system.
You’ll pay more for an Enclave, even in base form. But you’ll get more room — larger dimensions in every direction for the driver and significantly more cargo space.
The Enclave comes in just three trim levels: Preferred, Sport Touring, and Avenir. Pricing for the Enclave starts at $46,395, including destination charge.
Buick Enclave Highlights
More space for the driver and their luggage: Taller drivers will appreciate the Enclave’s added head, leg, and shoulder room. Both SUVs’ second- and third-row dimensions are similar, but the Enclave swallows significantly more luggage.
Available Hands-Free Driving: There are no self-driving cars for sale in 2025. But GM’s Super Cruise system lets you take your hands off the wheel and foot off the pedals on more than 400,000 miles of pre-mapped highway in North America. You’ll need to keep your eyes on the road and stay ready to take over. But we’ve found it a huge fatigue-preventer on road trips.
More power from less fuel: The Enclave’s turbocharged 4-cylinder engine makes 328 horsepower — 37 more than the Palisade offers. You’ll pay no penalty at the pump for that power. It gets (ever-so-slightly) better fuel economy.

Similarities
The 2025 Hyundai Palisade and 2025 Buick Enclave are similar in size and equipment levels.
Conclusion
The Hyundai Palisade is less powerful and smaller than the Buick Enclave. However, it enjoys better fuel economy, a longer warranty, and — perhaps most importantly — the starting price is $8,000 less than the Enclave’s sticker price. A 10-year powertrain warranty saves you on repairs in the long run, too.
The Buick is more luxurious, with more power to boot and the option of hands-free highway driving. But you’ll pay a lot more for it. Unless maximum interior space is your top priority, the Hyundai Palisade may be a better choice for most families.
