The 2022 Kia Seltos is this year’s Subcompact SUV Best Buy, claiming our highest honor for the second year in a row.
The Seltos lineup starts at $22,590, while the range-topping Seltos SX Turbo starts at $28,090 with room to grow. So let’s check all those boxes and take a look at what you get on a fully loaded, top-of-the-line 2022 Kia Seltos SX Turbo for about $32,000.
Kia Seltos SX Turbo: More Power, Higher Tech, Extra Safety
As its name suggests, the Seltos SX Turbo benefits from a more powerful turbocharged engine, matched with a quicker-shifting automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. So equipped, the Seltos is among the segment’s most powerful entries.
Moving into the passenger cabin, the SX Turbo boasts a big, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes voice-command navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless phone charging. Exclusive to the SX Turbo are a digital instrument cluster, Bose premium sound, electronic parking brake, and auto-dimming rearview mirror. Heated front seats and a power front driver’s seat with memory settings are also included.
The Seltos lineup offers an impressive collection of driver-assist technologies, but only the SX Turbo features adaptive cruise control, one of our favorites. Other active safety highlights include systems that watch ahead, behind and to the side, ready to take action to help prevent a collision.
Outside, the Seltos SX Turbo features 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and fog lights, plus a choice of 12 color options.
Additional Upgrades
Moving up to the 2022 Kia Seltos SX Turbo also gets you access to two additional packages. The SX Sunroof Package adds $700, while the new-for-2022 SX Plum Color Package – essentially a plum-themed interior – is a no-cost option.
We were able to get our SX Turbo up to $32,215 by ticking all the options boxes. Here’s what else it included:

- Interior lighting kit: $300
- Lifestyle hitch: $300
- Puddle lights: $275
- Illuminated scuff plate: $295
- Carpeted floor mats: $130
We certainly wouldn’t add each and every one of those extras to our Seltos, but an SX Turbo with a sunroof would leave very little to be desired. Especially considering Kia’s famously generous 5-year/60,000-mile warranty and 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage.
