My uncle bought This 1993 2500 suburban brand new December 1992. He had a 1987 suburban and it got damaged in hurricane Andrew Miami Florida. He waited till December to get a new one. When we got the suburban I was 10 years old I am now 36 years old. It is a Two-tone blue and silver color. It has the factory hubcaps because at the time they didn’t have Alloy rims for the big spindle on the rear axle. He used to sell cars and tow cars from the auction with it as a kid. To make a long story short he finally gave it to me in 2003 with 433,000 miles on it We did change the transmission twice in it’s history but it still has the same engine and now it’s 600,000+ miles and now we are in February 1, 2020 and just came back from El Paso Texas with it back home to Miami still rolling like a beast I would not get rid of it for $1 million love it. Got it repainted everything is still original that came up From the factory did not do nothing special to it. I want to keep it the old-fashioned way.
Critical Review
Used as work truck for cleaning houses. No longer needed for that. Although not sure how we can get trash to dump in smaller cars. May need to think again?

3rd owner prior owner was a 17 year old so I dont really blame the suburban. But it had a bad head gasket at 275 thousand miles. I already repaired the damage and has yet to fail me. Still working on it one thing at a time but I love it
Hard to get some parts.
I was the 2nd owner of her, I have had her for 20 years. I have replaced almost all mechanical parts on her, with plans of having her body redone! Unfortunately, someone decided to redo the body for me, and she is no longer able to be fixed! (Hit and run down in Denver) If it would have made good sense I would have redone her! I love that truck more than is humanly healthy. I would recommend the 99 Surburban to anyone. A new engine was put in just this year, so there is only about 10,000 miles on the engine. Value of a Vehicle should be based on Records, upkeep and maintenance, not just the age of the vehicle.
Excellent new tires 177867 miles good interior oil and wire spark plugs new new starter radiator flush now cap for radiator all liquids good
Does it all with ease
The price of gas
This vehicle works like a truck and drives like a dream. She's done everything I've asked her to do with no problems. I love this thing.
Powerful, pretty good gas milage. Lots of room
The pass lock security and open recall
These suburban have an open recall since 2000 for passenger safety belt issue. Finding a dealer to do the recall is next to impossible. I had to contact GM for them to order a dealer to fix the recall. Every dealer I contacted refused to do it. Not only this year is affected by the recall
Reliability and longevity
Use of plastic gaskets incompatible with Dexcool
The GMT400 platform of Chevy/GMC trucks were the best. They are absolute legends when it comes to durability. Yes they have their quirks (like every vehicle make) but nothing that can’t be corrected by the widely available options of aftermarket parts. I think mine will last forever ;)
Motor strong as hell transmission just dropped overdrive and radiator has a small crack on driver side by top hose
Great reliable vehicle for off the grid
Bent pitman arm, needs powe steering pump
This truck has sat all winter and we just put battery in and starts every time. It needs a power steering pump. Bent pitman arm. Drives fine. Engine rebuilt 30,000 miles ago.
