Positive Review
Finally, a perfect match! The 6.2L 420hp option mates so well with the new 10 speed. Power, comfort, convenience, reliability. Best truck Chevy built since 2012 Silverado’s.

Basic Features
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 3.0L LTZ is a pretty great truck. Some of its features for a newer model is lackluster which is why I am giving it a 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. It is currently a daily driver to and from work, the diesel mileage of course is amazing getting a whopping 26 City and 34 highway miles on average for me. In a small area neighborhood it’s about 12.5 to 16 miles to the gallon. I’d recommend this vehicle for sure for a family and seasoned or dedicated Chevrolet consumers
Comparing to 2019 Ram Limited. I did not want to go with a turbo only options for current Rams. Pros: - V8/10 speed - smooth/sounds great. - Solid truck ride feel (Ram air ride is smoother but truck felt lighter) - Clean look of interior/dash - Multi tailgate and bumper steps - Mobile App for truck controls for 3 years - Simple interface - Overall appearance Cons: - lack of interior storage and center console space - Antenna - silly - Charging pad is cheap removable plastic - Moonroof reduces headspace/no panoramic - Front seats lack comfort. Small. Loose driver seat issue . Seat cushion replaced…still an issue. Weak seat ventilation. - Google GPS/interface - no thanks - GPS frozen (dealing with it now - Ram had same issue too). - overall dash is plastic with “plastic threads” to look like leather w/stiching. Seriously? - Power rails come straight out (smart for durability but unusually high for step up) Bottom line - Chevy is cheap in the wrong places. Driving with a loose/clicking driver seat drives me nuts for an $80K truck. I am hopeful problems are resolved. Plenty of complements on look of truck.
The 3.0 Duramax 10speed combo is the best powertrain combo in its class. Butter smooth, tons of TQ for pulling and class leading fuel mileage.

Transmission, Resale value, Overrated
Trucks are not holding their value at this time. New trucks are piling up because of lack of sales. This truck has some issues with the transmission and i pretty much I have to deal with it. Service dept fixed the recall, but this problem is still continuing. Fuel mileage no good 16/21 mpg.. Uncomfortable cloth seats for long distance. Stereo is not impressive as it should be. Now I am finding more of these trucks for sale. It's already a problem for the future value.
For a V8 I still get 20MPG on the highway. Comfortable. Great in the snow. Plenty of power. Plenty of room.
None so far, but I am well aware of the lifter failures with the L84 and L87 motors. It's more prone with the 6.2, why I went with the 5.3. But at the end of the day, the failures are small percentage of the overall production numbers. Installing a chip will hopefully limit the DFM nonsense.
I bought this last year 2022LTD High Country, 1500 with the (5.3, 4WD). I wanted something bigger with 4WD and SUV's were 10-12K higher than trucks and more miles. This truck was 72K new and the patience paid off! Still a lot of money, but this market is still overinflated. I got the truck in May 2024 for 48K and only 9K miles. I put a pulsar LT on it to shutoff the DFM and auto start/stop, oil catch can and AWE catback exhaust. Looks and sounds amazing.
Fuel economy, interior styling for year, tailgate functionality and trailering cameras
Oil pump belt maintenance at 150K miles. Under seat storage
Someone finally created a full-size truck with great fuel economy for the person who drives a lot, needs a truck. But not a HD truck. This is perfect fit with my Duramax 3.0L.
IN GOOD SHAPE GOOD TIES GOOD PAINT NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
This truck is a ZR1 with "Special" paint that I paid extra for. It has 41000 miles. Tell me this truck isn't worth more money.
