The S-10 Pickup is a very reliable truck. Mine is a 95 with a little over 80,000 miles on it. Great for everyday driving and also great for driving once or twice a week. It will get you to where you need to go. I haven't had many problems with mine. Most of my costs have been from the typical items such as oil changes, mufflers, etc. I have had to replace the water pump and ignition switch as the most costliest repairs, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 12-year old vehicle. Very comfortable to drive and easy to manuever around. Mine is 2-wd so not the best in the snow, but most light pickups are that way. You can minimize that problem by buying a good set of tires to get you around in the winter. Performance is solid and reliable. Not that best at acceleration, especially at lower speeds. Also, doesn't run as well with the AC on, but I don't use that much anyway. Overall, I am very pleased with this truck. It is a great truck for anyone at any age. I am just disappointed they quit making them. I love my S-10.

Critical Review
This vehicle was purchased with a transmission change and the body in fair condition. Later was wrecked and made the body in a not fair condition, but it does change its SS running condition. I call it two face because it was wrecked on one side and the other side looks like a new car.

Not much power
My sons first vehicle was a 4 cylinder, 5 speed 1988 S-10 back in 2003. He was 17 years old. Fast foward to 2026, he is now 40, He now has a GMC SD2500 Diesel truck that gets 18mpg at best, and wished he still had his S10. I am now retired and live in Florida, decided to find him the truck of his dreams. After only a few weeks, I found a southern truck at a used car dealership that was a 2000 LS with 261000 miles that was in decent shape for $1999, and sent it to him in N.Y. for his birthday, Not only does he love it, but it a Flex Fuel truck that can run on E85 that costs $1.93 a gal. compared to Diesel that's over $6.50 a gal. today 9/23/26.
4wh dr. Auto trans. Ex cab long bed w/camopy and running boards. Best car i have ever owned. Built in alarm will use up battery if you rarely drive it. Because i drive it less than 10 miles a month ive bought 2 batteries only because i used the alarm the 1st year i owned it. But ive had no other problems in the 8 years ive had the truck. It was garaged before i bought it and i dont have a garage so the hood needs top coating as do most chevys that sit in the sun.
very rare find for its age almost show room quality! no rust some minor blemishes. Drives really well,likenew.
Réd, 3 door. 6 cylinder. Hígh road mileage but low off-road & Farm mileage. Purchased by me in Dec 1998. Very clean. Needs only minor chip in paint touchup añd door panels secured. Perfect size which is why I have planned to keep it for my lifetime. Currently in declining health but wife and I both love our S10 pickup.

5 speed, gold in color, short bed. Runs great. Great mileage, no leaks, new tires, air conditioner
