Our 2016 Malibu is equipped with the Premier package and for a total MSRP of under $32k, the feature list can't be beat. We shopped around and compared other brands, but once optioned to be similar to the Malibu Premier's features, we were north of $45k in every instance, and in many comparable models some Malibu features weren't even available. The heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, navigation with real-time traffic, Apple Car Play, back-up camera, and forward parking sensors, are just a few of the features that we find extremely useful on a daily basis. The 2.0L Turbo has great power, and the 8-speed auto is slick, without abrupt shifts or hesitation, and it rarely seems to hunt for the right gear. The powertrain, while it doesn't sound as good as a V6 or V8, is excellent in every other respect. I would and do recommend this car to anyone in the market for a sedan in the $20-50k range. Cross shop this car with the Cadillac ATS, Accord, Camry, etc., and you'll appreciate that this car does everything very well.

We've got three Chevy Malibu cars; a 2005, 2011 and the 2016. Even though it has more bells-n-whistles, the 2016 is our least favorite. It drives as well as we'd expect, so there's no problems there; but it's just too crowded. The interior front tries so hard to make sure everything is at arms length that you can hardly steer the car without elbowing something. It also has awful leg room in the back. The 2016 has a blind spot that's almost 3 seconds long, and rear-view mirrors too small to be as useful as they should be. I've had MANY near misses because I have to look very hard and listen very carefully to know with certainty if someone is next to or behind me. We got a flat tire once and that's when we found out the car did not come with a spare tire, but instead came with a fix-a-flat kit. The Fix-a-flat didn't work at all, so we had to get the car towed. That's when we learned you have to especially request a split-bed tow truck due to the design of the car. We were stuck on the side of the highway from 2:30pm until almost 9pm. Three tow trucks later, and an extra $100 charge, we finally got home. I didn't like that at all. GM Roadside eventually reimbursed us for the $100 charge. To this day I'd rather drive my 2005.

I purchased a 2020 Chevy Malibu on February 14th, 2024. Since then, the vehicle has been plagued with issues. The check engine light is constantly on, and when a sensor fails, multiple problems seem to arise. For example, the first time the check engine light appeared, the dash dinged and displayed messages like “steering assist reduced, drive with care,” while all the gauges would jump around. It also showed “low fuel,” despite the tank being full, and the message “service ESC.” The root cause was the throttle body, which needed to be replaced. Subsequently, similar issues occurred, and different parts had to be replaced, including the mass airflow sensor, the accelerator pedal, the brake vacuum pump sensor, the brake vacuum pump, and components related to the charging system. At one point, there was a ground issue. Then there is the “shift into park” when the car is parked and attempting to turn it off. Overall, this car has been nothing but trouble, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
Comfortable, Stylish, Solid Safety Features, Reliable, Good Gas Mileage
I absolutely love my 2023 Chevy Malibu! It feels like the perfect car for me, as it is comfortable, spacious, stylish, and offers a very balanced driving experience. I personally find the safety features to be solid, allowing for the driver to still have a uniquely engaging driving experience. Despite what other reviews suggest, I actually find it quite easy to accelerate and pick up speed in this vehicle, and I have fun driving it while still feeling safe. However, I can see how others could find it to be less powerful when compared to other midsize sedans. The heated seats work exceptionally, and the infotainment screen is very user friendly. I also love the remote start feature, especially during the Winter currently. I am loving this car, and looking forward to driving it more and more!
The body style is great. It is comfortable to ride in.
Performance, jerky steering, no trunk release in car, not fuel efficient
I previously had a 2016 Equinox that I loved. I had very few issues with that car. I had an accident in which my Equinox was totaled so I had to buy a new car. In mid June, I bought a used 2023 Malibu due to my great experience with the Equinox. I have not been impressed at all. The steering wheel jerks at times for no reason. The stop/ start feature has caused my car to not restart leaving me stranded at lights on busy roads. Recently, it is not starting and the battery has full power. It allegedly has something to do with the computer system in the car. My HVAC system stopped working and all fuses were checked. Unfortunately, I could not afford the extended warranty so I am left to figure this out via mechanics. Very frustrated to have these issues on a car that's only 2 years old, that I've only had for less than 6 months. I wish I could return it. I would not recommend the Chevrolet Malibu.
Comfortable, Reliable, Excellent fuel economy, Stylish .
I own my 2024 Malibu RS for two years now. So far it still drives just like new. No issues, no complaints. I drive 14k miles per year, mostly highway miles. It averages between 32 and 35 mpg on highway and 15 to 19 mpg in city. Very comfortable and reliable so far.
Excellent Condition Car is in Excellent condition Absolutely no problems any Wear on this car! Looks new inside and out
9verall its been a great car sofar. Got it at 100k miles. Had to replace a wheel hub and changed the spark plugs but its doing great. Very smooth ride and fuel efficient.
Good car but is only average compared to others on the market
Isn’t a string hanging car and back up camera will glitch.
Rented the Chevy Malibu while my Toyota Camry is in the shop. The handling is slightly worse, the interior feels more plastic like, the throttle is worse going up hill, the back up camera will glitch continuously, and the brakes are strong when tapping them but then level off after that. Overall it’s still a good car but I’m counting the days I can get my own car back.
I like everything about it. great gas mileage and ride. stereo system is excellent only problem so far after 35000 miles was failure of rear backup camera. was fixed under warranty.
