Positive Review
I had a 2008 leased Malibu for three years and replaced it with a 2012 a few months ago. I loved both of these cars. Comfort, ride, dependability, and mpg. But what I really want people to know is that my husband was driving this car this past weekend and was hit by another car that was going very fast and he was barely moving. I was in the car right behind him and watched it happen. I can't tell you how amazed we are that my Malibu was completely totaled and my husband and brother in law both walked away. (I want to add here, that I work for a tier one supplier for automotive and I hear about all kinds of cars) The crash safety of this car is simply amazing. If you could see how it absorbed the energy and impact of the crash and kept the passengers from harm, with only a few bumps and a jammed thumb, it's astounding! There was a time you would have looked at a car with that much damage and never dreamed anyone could come out alive, much less walk away. My new 2012 Malibu is being ready for delivery to me as I write this. I am so thankful that the safety of this car saved my husband's life.

Horrible gas mileage
This car will fight you every step of the way when you try and fix it. Also it goes through sensors like no other. Hard to find a safe place to jack the car by. Basically impossible to do a rear caliper.
Style aged well, tons of trunk space, fuel mileage
Money pit, uncomfortable seats, transmission issue
Transmission slipping, blind spots, awful steering (feels like I’m driving a boat), seats are deeply uncomfortable (feels like I’m always hunched over even after adjusting lumbar support), can’t seem to get rid of the check engine light — no matter how many repairs it always seems to be something else — chrome details are peeling off.. it’s just such a let down because it has a luxury look to it but it’s all so cheaply built.
It’s a LTZ Loaded, two tone leather seats, heated
It’s been a great car for me. Sporty, Comfortable, Safe , Etc. I’m just trying to find out the worth of the vehicle. I have had at least 10 people tell me “why don’t you let me buy that cat! I love that car. I always do regular oil changes and tire rotations. I’ve taken car of any vehicle like that as well.
Handles great with studded tires on ice and snow
gas mileage, quality of the interior
The quality of the fabric used on the seats is poor. The driver's seat is torn at the seams and the vinyl on the seat is severely cracked. My car has been garaged for years, I have cared for the interior of the car including the seats. I add that I am not overweight (mentioned only as this can affect how the seat "ages". I purchased car in the Fall of 2012 and I believe it had about 18000 miles on it at that time, the car had been driven a lot obviously given the year of the car and miles on it in a short period of time. I am disappointed with the quality.
Timing Chain went out at 99400 miles. A very expensive and time consuming repair. Additionally, I am 5,6'' tall and medium build. When turning left, the bar that seperates the windshield from the windows impedes your view. Its a pretty significant blind spot. It also takes a special grade of oil, and filter, both of which are more expensive than standard. This car will nickel and dime you to death. I will never buy a Chevy again!
Stylish and fuel efficient
Unreliable money pit that doesn't hold value.
Bought this uses with 60k miles. Before even hitting 100k miles, I had to replace the front control arms, struts, tie rod ends, and all the other misc suspension components. The car still would vibrate while driving. 6 speed transmission was a slush box. And the car was riddled with electrical gremlins. The third brake light was known for flashing or not working, even if your car isn't part of the recall. Also, the timing chain usually goes after 100k miles on the 2.4l ecotec. I would not recommend buying this car for more than $1000. Yes it is fuel efficient, but you will be dumping a lot of money into it for repairs.
