I bought my 2017 Cruze LT used in 2019. I didn't have any major issues, other than there seemed to be a transmission issue - when I would put the car in reverse, it would completely cut off but I was usually able to put it in park, quick turn it off and start it back up. Last year, it started completely stopping but it was due to a battery issue where it wasn't holding a charge so it would take extra voltage when it would auto stop. Once I got the battery replaced, I stopped having that particular issue. Any maintenance and repairs weren't too costly. I got the drivers side speaker replaced for about $80 in late April of this year after the amp stopped working (there was some moisture on the inside, at the bottom - it was likely due to previous work done before I bought it where they didn't properly re-insulate the door). The technology was overall great, it was equipped with Bluetooth, CarPlay and OnStar services and I really liked using the MyChevrolet app for access and convenience in the Michigan winter months. I had to let it go after totaling it in an accident but I likely would've had it for another year or two, before deciding on something bigger and newer.
I purchased this car as my first brand new car in 2017, and it has been great. You have the confidence of the weight of it in the winter compared to other brands where it feels like an engine with a box. I still own this car and it's running great. I do regular maintenance including oil changes, filter changes, breaks etc, and honestly I can say when you love a car It loves you back. Since living in Canada it does get exposure to gravel roads and salt from the winter, so my rockers are starting to peel. But no rust, and looking to repair this year to keep on top of it. Honestly only reason looking to upgrade is because I'm ready for the height of an SUV. Definitely would suggest this car!
The one thing I don’t like about My Chevy Cruze Hatchback is I cant get the touchscreen to do anything beyond its startup. Other thank that I would have given five stars. Reliability. Style. Cost. Performance. Mods.
Good looking car with very good gas milage.
Engine life (4Cyl Turbo); Poor Quality in the interior.
I bought this care new in 2016 for a family member. It had 100,000 miles on it when the engine blew a piston. I ended up replacing the whole engine with a new one from the Chevrolet. It ended up being up costing 10K for the installation and new long block from a local Chevrolet dealer here in Northern California.
It is a great car for daily driver needs. Has great gas mileage and is comfortable. Not a powerful engine but gets the job done.
this is my third card, great on gas with 30-35 mpg even with a/c cranked to the max. the auto stop is weird at first but you will get used to it just hold the break and then pump it to turn the car back on so it doesn't jolt you. would for sure get my family members this car.
This Lil car puts a whole new meaning on the saying, big things often come in small packages. We're talking 31plus average milage all around. No power loss on large long hills/ mountain passes. Very smoth, quiet comfortable as it gets with more than enough room for you and your partner with all the luggage you'd like to bring. I could go on and on here but I'm going to guess you get it by now and if your smart you'll go find out for yourself!
Bought this 2016 Cruze in 2018 with just 33,000 or 36,000 mileage. 2019 started having minor issues but fixable. Got me to and fro especially driving long distance for 2 hrs at least. In 2022 until the present, then major issues began. A mechanic told me Chevy Cruzes keeps them in business because of turbo engine problems, coolant leaks, etc which cost over $2,000 which I can't afford. The mileage is over 60,000 ( dont know the exact mileage but its in the 60,000) and having issues? Save your coins, and avoid unless you have that kind of money.
