Positive Review
Bought it used and it's an amazing car. Those who don't get good gas mileage, try resetting your average speed and fuel economy when you fill up. I've gotten 40 mpg on the highway numerous times! It's very comfortable to ride in (never rode in the back seat though). Speakers are so-so...and to be honest, it doesn't come with a spare tire and I wish it did. Instead it comes an air compressor and if you're lucky, fix a flat. So if you have a complete blow out, hello wrecker bill! The braking does take some getting used to as well as the slow acceleration at start off. I love it otherwise.
Critical Review
I purchased this vehicle new. I had no problems with the vehicle initially (good gas mileage, steering ease, interior for the most part) and I did all the maintenance as required. The transmission, if you want to call that, leaves a lot to be desired. Even after components of the transmission was replaced by the dealership at 70K, I am still having problems. It has left me stranded more than once owing to transmission and gear shifting issues (a recall repaired the gear assembly as well after 2 years of ownership). Despite any good features with this vehicle, the poor quality of the Cruze in regards to internal parts makes this vehicle a nightmare waiting to happen. There is thermostat issue that should be recalled as well. My previous vehicle, a Nissan X-terra, I had to over 14 years, with parts going bad after 10-11 years, not 4.5. Here a suggestion for a new name that will fit it better: Chevy Loose.

Nice Interior, turbocharged
Quick degradation of parts in the engine, Things ALWAYS going babe
Yeah, It’s nice.. but lots of things go bad really fast on this car. Maintenance is a hassle, and trying to keep up with its problems suck. 2013 is a rough year for cars in the first place, and being a cruze just makes it 10x worse. My experience : 3 days after getting it, I spent $1300 in vacuum leaks, AC went out, sensors going bad, and wear & tear that wasn’t fixed or replaced, My suggestion, veer away from the cruze’s & if not and you decided to get one, get one under 100k miles and/or no more than 6-7 years old — save yourself the hassle & hope this helps anybody thinking about getting one. (I also highly recommend taking it to your own mechanic before purchasing — AND IT DOESN’T MATTER IF IT’S FROM A DEALERSHIP, GET IT CHECKED ANYWAYS)
Esthetically appealing
World of problems
If your looking for reliability, do not choose this car with the 1.4 turbo, it is full of problems, got about 140k out of the 1st motor, on 2nd that was bought used with 60k on it, at about 80k now the problems are starting again.these cruze 1.4 motors are absolutely horrible as far as reliability think twice before you buy even if it's cheep trust me...
Drives well
Dirty interior, engine codes
.
Cars been well maintained. Regular oil changes , tires are only going on 1year old . The color is a Berry Red . Miles approximately 128,087. There are very small dings from a lawn mower spitting tiny peppels out while grass was being cut. Black Leather bucket seats. No rips at all , was maintained as well- cleaned every 2-3 weeks. The only thing is while going through a drive through car wash it chipped the passenger side front door on the very bottom- it’s nearly noticeable.
Throws 171 lean codes frequently if you don't swap out a bevy of parts. Was good from 50-150,000 then parts are made from the factory to deteriorate (plastic water pump inlet - switch to metal, intake will need to be replaced if internal plastic valve wears out, etc.)
Looks good
Electrical, cooling system
Absolutely the worst car I have ever owned. Have had nothing but problems with electrical, cooling system , have owned car 2 years and have only put on 4000 kms due to it's never run long enough to get anymorab
Great car no issues at all runs drives perfectly shifts smooth ac cold heat hot everything works perfect
Looks good
Bad motor and turbo
Bought this car used and has been nothing but problems with motor including leaking from the valve cover gasket causing it to smoke, turbo line leaking causing low boost to the turbo. Cylinder one and two would pop multiple codes. After owning for a year the car no longer runs. All around a nightmare of a car please avoid at all costs
