Positive Review
The FRC (Hardtop) is really undervalued. This will truly be the only real classic C5. Not many made. I recently drove my car from Oregon to Florida. No problems and averaged 32mpg. Very comfortable. A PORSCHE would have you in hospital for 2 weeks after a trip like this. Car is just a pleasure to drive. NO DRAMA! FRCs are not fast like a ZO6 - But they are quick. All the car value sites need to re-evaluate this model.
Critical Review
Build quality, fit and finish: Very bad Power out put rated at 350bhp, over rated electronics, get used to pushing the reset button to clear historic and current frequent engine codes Engine heat in the summer creeps into the passenger compartment Computer controller sends frequent engine, hvac, radio, tire pressure monitoring system, and other codes, when this occurs you may see a engine reduced power warning, at the same time your windows, door locks and instrument cluster (except speedo) will zero out and not function. Visually the car is a beautiful. Mechanically it needs serious improvement.

Bought this car from the original owner in 2015. Ten years later it is still in excellent condition. Has 120002 miles now. 52000 when bought in 2015. No major issues at all. Just regular maintenance and care. Fun to drive between 75 and 140 mph. (desert between Tonopah and Las Vegas). I got 29 mpg on that trip. (Seattle to LVN). VERY COMFORTABLE RIDE.
Our 97 Corvette has had some issues but its fun factor really overshadows the issues. It gets 25 mpg. We have replaced the oil pressure sensor twice. We replaced both fuel pumps. The ac compressor had a leak so we replaced it. It has been taken very good care. The paint is amazing . Ours is Carmine Red. This is my 4th Corvette. This is a keeper.
2000 corvette convertible 6 speed with 34000 miles in it red with saddle top and saddle leather interior
The True American Sports Car!
? 5" off the ground? could be a plus!
The traction abs module! If it's on, have it fixed by seller before you buy! They don't make the part for model Years 97-99! It has to be repaired or replaced and it isn't cheap! Other than that 99 I Love my dream car! I have Yokahama 185 mph racing tires! Car handles like it's on rails! I love my car, Sebring Silver lots of mods, it looks stellar!
Great power with good mpg
Electric roof would be nice
Car’s very reliable with plenty of get up and go. I own an automatic and it never fails to amaze me when you step on the gas pedal on the highway. The car when you step on it downshifts not once but twice if you demand extra speed. You will not be disappointed in this car. The ride is comfortable with plenty of shoulder room. Also the mpg is quite impressive up to 27 mpg. Driving at 80 mph the tach is barely at 8000 rpm. Great car for the money no doubt!
Ride is Excellent and if you buy the 6 speed you will get phenomenal gas mileage. My car is the 50th Anniversary C-5 Corvette. Dark Cherry Metallic. The only thing I do not like are the “”Special Wheels”, they should have been Chromed!!
FAST. Decent fuel economy. FAST. Sexy. Sleek. FAST
None that I have found!
I've wanted a Corvette since I was a pre teen. I'm now almost 60. I looked at a Vette when I was 16 years old and couldn't afford it or the insurance. Had to get a sensible pick up truck to go along with my chosen profession of being a carpenter. Was heart broken at the time. Bought my 2004 coupe almost 2 years ago. 6-speed manual with just over 41k miles. This thing is incredibly fast and hugs the road! Begs to be driven fast. If you can find one at a price you can afford - grab it! You won't be disappointed! Hang on for the ride of your life! Enjoy!
Fast and stylish
Plastic parts
I bought this car about a year ago and there were a few items that needed replacement that was routine for a 25 year old car. All parts were readily available, reasonably priced and fairly easy to install. I have to say that the car is awesome! Runs and looks like a new car and I get tons of compliments on her. I also have a 1978 25th Anniversary Corvette but mostly drive my '98. Highly recommend getting a c5 with the LS1.
