===== 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S: Basalt Black, PDK, PASM Sport, Sport Chrono, SportDesign Wheels ===== This *2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S* is an early 991-generation example finished in *Basalt Black Metallic* over a *Black interior*, with an original MSRP of *$114,345* and an excellent factory specification centered around driving. Highlights include *Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), PASM Sport Suspension, Sport Chrono Package, 20-inch SportDesign wheels, SportDesign steering wheel, Power Sport Seats, BOSE audio, PDLS, heated and ventilated seats, and Porsche Entry & Drive*. The specification makes sense for what the 991.1 Carrera S does best: combine the character of a naturally aspirated 911 with a chassis that is fast, comfortable, and remarkably usable. ==== Why the Early 991 Carrera S Is Special ==== The 2012 model year marked the arrival of the *991 generation*, making cars like this part of an important transition in 911 history. The 991 brought a more sophisticated chassis and substantially improved everyday usability while retaining the naturally aspirated flat-six that enthusiasts associate with the earlier modern 911s. In Carrera S form, the *3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six produces 400 horsepower*. That engine is a huge part of the appeal today. Power builds progressively with rpm, throttle response is immediate, and the experience becomes more dramatic as the engine approaches the upper end of the tachometer. There are no turbochargers changing the character of the power delivery. The result is a 911 that feels modern enough to use every day while still delivering the sound and response of a naturally aspirated Porsche. ==== PDK, Sport Chrono and PASM Sport ==== This particular car has an especially strong driving specification. *Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)* provides extremely quick shifts and works equally well cruising in automatic mode or being controlled manually through the SportDesign steering wheel. The factory *Sport Chrono Package* adds a more performance-focused character, while *PASM Sport Suspension* gives the Carrera S a lower and more aggressive chassis setup than a standard PASM-equipped car. That combination matters. This is a Carrera S designed to feel sharper and more responsive without turning the car into something difficult to live with. ==== 20-Inch SportDesign Wheels ==== The factory *20-inch SportDesign wheels* are another major part of the specification. They suit the early 991 particularly well, filling out the body without looking overly modern or aggressive. Colored Porsche crest center caps complete the setup. Combined with *Basalt Black Metallic*, the result is a restrained and timeless 911 specification. ==== Comfortable Enough to Drive Every Day ==== The performance options are balanced by an unusually complete comfort specification. Factory equipment includes: 14-way Power Sport Seats Heated front seats Ventilated front seats Porsche Entry & Drive Electric sunroof Navigation BOSE Audio Package Automatically dimming mirrors Porsche Dynamic Light System Light Design Package Power Steering Plus The combination makes this a genuine grand-touring 911 as well as a serious driver's car. ==== CARFAX History ==== The CARFAX report shows: 38,884 miles 13 service history records 5 previous owners Personal and personal-lease history No total loss reported No airbag deployment reported No indication of odometer rollback No open recalls reported CARFAX does report *minor damage to the rear in April 2018*. CARFAX classifies the event specifically as minor damage and notes that minor damage is t>
