This 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE is presented as a straightforward two-door utility vehicle with the familiar compact proportions of the Wrangler line. It is fitted with a 2.5-liter inline-four cylinder engine and a manual transmission, a combination that was common for this model year and trim. The body is finished in black, and the exterior carries the simple upright shape associated with the YJ generation. This example uses the standard hard top, which gives it a fixed roof rather than a removable soft-top arrangement. The short wheelbase and narrow stance are part of the platform's design, and the visible hardware reflects a vehicle built for basic transport and off-pavement use rather than added ornamentation. This Jeep rides on steel wheels with 225/75R15 tires, a size that matches the vehicle's compact footprint. Power steering is included, and the steering effort is assisted by that system. Anti-lock brakes are also present, providing a braking aid that was still relatively uncommon on small utility vehicles of this era. A rear-mounted spare tire is carried on the tailgate, and the exterior has the practical surfaces and exposed hinges that define the Wrangler body style. The fenders, grille openings, and squared-off panels all use a functional appearance with little in the way of decorative trim. The glass area is limited compared with many passenger cars, and the body sides remain simple and uncluttered. Inside, this 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE is equipped with cloth seating and a front bench seat. The cabin presents a basic arrangement with controls placed for direct access, and the materials reflect the trim level rather than added embellishment. Air conditioning is included, along with an AM/FM radio for audio. The seats are finished in a light tone that contrasts with the darker exterior, and the simple dashboard carries only the equipment needed for everyday use. Manual controls are part of the interior, and the cabin space follows the short-cabin format of the model. The rear area is limited, and the interior emphasizes utility over storage refinement or decorative detail. This Jeep Wrangler SE offers the mechanical traits that made the model familiar during the late 1990s, including a durable frame-based construction and a chassis intended to handle rough surfaces. The 2.5-liter engine is paired with the manual gearbox for drivers who prefer a direct connection between engine speed and road pace. Ground clearance is consistent with the model's off-road orientation, and the short overhangs help the vehicle work with uneven terrain. The side profile remains upright, the doors are simple in design, and the hard top gives the cabin a fixed-weather shell. This 1997 Jeep Wrangler SE keeps to the features listed here: black paint, a hard top, steel wheels, power steering, anti-lock brakes, cloth upholstery, a front bench seat, air conditioning, and AM/FM sound.
