The only V8 M3 BMW ever made. 414 naturally aspirated horsepower, an 8,400 rpm redline, and one of the best sounding engines BMW has ever built. This one has the hard part already done. Buyers shopping for one of these look for three things: rod bearings, throttle actuators, and VANOS. All three are done on this car. So is the one almost everyone skips: the main bearings. They aren't skipped because they don't matter. More and more of these engines are failing at the main bearings. They're skipped because replacing them means taking the entire engine apart. I couldn't find a single M3 sold in the last five years with them done. Why I did it: the car passed a pre-track inspection last year with fresh rod bearings, and the engine failed on the warm-up lap. It was the number one main bearing. No crash. The engine was rebuilt less than 1,000 miles ago with ~$27,000 in work by Performance Eurowerks in Gurnee, one of the most trusted BMW shops in the Midwest. Main bearings, race rod bearings, billet VANOS covers, race oil cooler, all new gaskets and seals. The machine shop line honed the journals and balanced the crankshaft to bring the bottom end back to spec. Passed post-build inspection and emissions with no warning lights, and the shop says it's ready for the track tomorrow. Space Gray over black, DCT, 69,3XX miles. Clean title, owned outright. Cold Weather Package, heated power sport seats, factory navigation, carbon roof, Michelin Pilot Super Sports, new battery. Close to stock, with the genuine BMW M Performance exhaust and an aFe intake. Honest 9/10: light curb rash on a couple wheels, minor rock chips up front, small scratch on the rear bumper. Carfax shows a cosmetic front bumper replacement in 2018. Two keys, original mats, detailed engine rebuild receipts. PPIs welcome. Message me for videos and more photos.
