Perfect Auto Collection Signature Listing 2024 BMW XM VIN 5YM23CS05R9V04753 | 22,725 miles Most XM buyers ordered black and let the shape disappear. This one is white, which means every line of it is on display. Why We Acquired This Vehicle BMW M has designed only two vehicles from a blank sheet in its entire history. The first was the M1 in the late 1970s. The second is the XM - not an M version of an existing BMW but a vehicle drawn by the division from the ground up, its first electrified product, and at launch the most powerful car M had ever built. The powertrain is a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 contributing 483 horsepower alongside a 194-horsepower electric motor, for a combined 644 horsepower and 590 lb-ft and a 4.1-second run to 60 mph. It will also cover roughly thirty miles without waking the V8 at all. This example arrived with its factory build sheet, recording a total of $165,895 against a $159,000 base. Two things stand out on it. The paint is white rather than the dark finishes most of these received, and the interior is a light Silverstone and Vintage Coffee - which together make this the rare XM ordered to be looked at rather than to slip past unnoticed. At 22,725 miles it has been used properly and looked after while being used. The verified appointments are detailed in full below. We ask whether it was built with conviction, and whether we would be proud to keep it in our own collection. The XM is a divisive shape and always was, and the overwhelming majority of buyers responded by ordering dark paint, which softens it considerably. This one did the opposite. In white, with the trim blacked out and enormous dark wheels underneath, the vehicle's surfacing and proportions are fully legible - you see exactly what M designed rather than a silhouette. Whether a person likes the result is beside the point. Somebody ordered this car understanding precisely what it was, which is not something we can say about most of them. Why Enthusiasts Value This Model The XM occupies a place nothing else does. Only the second standalone vehicle M has designed, the division's first electrified model, the most powerful car it had built at launch - and assembled in South Carolina, which makes it one of very few American-built vehicles competing at this level. None of those facts can be earned by a later car. Beneath the styling argument sits real engineering: rear-biased all-wheel drive, an M Sport differential, adaptive suspension, active roll control, and rear-axle steering, all working to make something this large change direction like something considerably smaller.
