1998 Ford Windstar Cargo Van 3.8L Mechanic Special Rebuilt Transmission + New Parts $1,500 OBO 1998 Ford Windstar factory cargo van, 3.8L V6, 191,752 miles. This is a mechanic special/project vehicle for someone who does their own repairs, has a mechanic, or needs a Windstar for parts. The van is NOT currently driveable and must be towed from my driveway. A considerable amount of work has already been done: Transmission rebuilt at 150,958 miles about 41,000 miles ago Brand-new radiator installed within the past 30 days Brand-new battery installed within the past 30 days Recent spark plugs, wires, filters and fluids Rear windows newly tinted Factory cargo/work configuration with large open rear cargo area Mechanical condition: The van overheated before the radiator was replaced. The radiator has since been replaced, but I have not had the engine fully diagnosed to determine whether the overheating caused additional damage. Further engine repairs may be needed. A head-gasket issue or other heat-related damage is possible, but I do not know the extent and am not representing that any particular repair will correct it. A new component was recently installed in the intake/throttle area. Afterward, the van began stalling and needs further diagnosis. The check-engine light is on. Buyer should assume additional engine work may be required, potentially substantial. Even if the next owner repairs or replaces the engine, the van already has a rebuilt transmission with only about 41,000 miles on it, plus a brand-new radiator, battery and recent maintenance. This is a factory Ford Windstar Cargo model, not a passenger van I converted. The rear has a large open cargo/work area for tools, deliveries or small-business use. Exterior is in white primer and needs sanding and paint. Interior/cargo area shows work-van wear. Please see photos. Must be towed. Sold AS-IS with no warranty.
