1997 Porsche 911 (993) Carrera 6-Speed Sunroof Coupe Extensively Restored This 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe represents an extensively restored and thoughtfully modified example of Porsche's final air-cooled 911 generation. Finished in a striking Gulf-inspired livery, this 993 has undergone a comprehensive multi-year mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment encompassing its engine, 6-speed manual transmission, suspension, steering, braking system, climate-control system, exterior trim and seals, interior, wheels, tires and exhaust. The centerpiece of the restoration is a complete engine rebuild, performed by Cali Auto following an initial factory-specification frame inspection. The engine was machined with matched pistons and bearings, assembled with new components, and fitted with a new engine wiring harness. The 6-speed manual transmission was also completely rebuilt. Additional work included replacement of the steering rack, tie-rod ends, shifter linkage, heat shields, front struts, and front and rear deck-lid shocks. The documented Cali Auto portion of the project alone totaled more than $85,000. The restoration continued extensively throughout the chassis. Bilstein suspension components were installed, along with replacement control arms, rear struts, lower ball joints, and stabilizer links. Most recently, the braking system received new front and rear brake pads and rotors in July 2026. Exterior: ----- The 993's original color is Forest Green Metallic, which remains beneath its custom Gulf-inspired wrap. Prior to installation of the livery, the body was extensively prepared, including dent removal and sanding of the aged clearcoat. The finished wrap was then protected with full-car clear PPF. As part of the exterior refurbishment, the car was substantially disassembled and fitted with new body seals and weatherstripping. The black exterior trim, door handles, mirrors, and related components were removed and refinished before reinstallation. New headlights, taillights, front turn signals, headlight washers, and a new windshield were also installed. The brake calipers were bead-blasted and refinished in Porsche Orange with contrasting Porsche script. The exterior is completed by Avant Garde F134 wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact tires, while the Gulf presentation is carried through with custom matching floor mats. Interior ----- The cabin received similarly comprehensive attention, including: New carpeting throughout New dashboard New center console Braum Elite Sport seats CarBone RS-style door panels Four new orange seatbelts Re-dyed interior trim New window switches and window motor Bluetooth stereo and upgraded speakers Immobilizer bypass module The interior refurbishment included removal of the original carpeting and seats, cleaning of the cabin, and installation of the new carpeting and seating, followed later by the RS-style door panels, rear-window replacement, and orange seatbelts. Mechanical Restoration &amp; Upgrades In addition to the rebuilt engine and transmission, documented mechanical work includes replacement of the engine cooling fan, engine mounts, A/C compressor, and belts. The climate-control system subsequently received an extensive overhaul, including a new climate-control unit, faceplate and controls, new A/C condenser and expansion valve, and reworking of the climate system from the engine compartment forward to the dashboard. A Fabspeed Maxflo performance exhaust and Fabspeed Sport Cat X-pipes were installed in 2026. At an odometer reading of approximately 51,216 miles, the rebuilt engine had accumulated only 2,757 miles.
