2006 Lexus SC 430 Convertible For Sale This 2006 Lexus SC 430 is one of roughly 500 to 600 Pebble Beach Edition cars built for the model year, finished in the edition's signature Tigereye Mica exterior over Camel leather with dark Espresso wood trim. The car spent its life in the salt-free south before arriving in Pennsylvania this summer, giving it a head start on the kind of body and chassis condition that harsher climates tend to work against. It's a rare color and trim combination that Lexus never repeated before or after 2006. Power comes from Toyota and Lexus's 3UZ-FE 4.3-liter V8, rated at 288 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque and regarded as one of the more dependable V8s of its era. The 2006 model year brought a mid-cycle refresh to the SC 430, and this car carries all of it: a 6-speed automatic replacing the earlier 5-speed, Adaptive Front Lighting that steers the headlights through corners, and updated LED tail lights. The combination keeps the SC 430's relaxed grand-touring character while closing most of the gap between the early cars and the ones Lexus refined toward the end of the run. The centerpiece is still the power-retractable hardtop, which folds away in about 25 seconds with styling Lexus drew from its own yacht designs. On top of the standard SC 430, the Pebble Beach Edition adds chrome fender badges, custom-embroidered floor mats, and 18-inch Liquid Graphite wheels, along with heated front seats and factory navigation for everyday comfort. The audio system is a 240-watt Mark Levinson setup running through 9 speakers, including an 8-inch rear subwoofer, with automatic EQ and volume adjustment that compensates for the difference between top-up and top-down driving. The head unit itself stays out of sight behind a motorized wood door until it's needed. That single-year color and trim combination, paired with an engine many SC 430 owners consider the platform's most reliable, and the collector interest SC 430s have started picking up more broadly, puts this car in a good spot for a buyer looking for a distinctive, low-maintenance convertible rather than the usual white-on-black example.
