Original owner, kept in climate controlled garage, with light performance upgrades, including: Prowler Pro gears, headers and exhaust, and nitrous. Not all Prowlers are quite the same, and to me, this one represents a particularly desirable combination of the things that make these cars special. The 1997 Prowlers had the looks, but their original 3.5-liter V6 produced only 214 horsepower. Later cars received the much improved 253-horsepower engine, which was better, but the Prowler was still a car whose appearance promised a little more performance than the factory delivered. This car fixes that without trying to turn a Prowler into something it was never meant to be. With mild, thoughtfully chosen modifications, it is now making approximately 300 horsepower. That extra power gives the car the pep and responsiveness this lightweight roadster always deserved, while remaining conservative enough not to overstress the drivetrain or compromise the character of the car. It still drives and feels like a Prowler; it simply has a little more &quot;go&quot; to match all that &quot;show.&quot; There are also unique details that make this particular year appealing. The 1997 only produced 214 horsepower, the 1999 cars came with painted wheels rather than the chrome wheels that look so right on a Prowler. And when Plymouth was discontinued, the final 2 cars became Chrysler Prowlers. Nothing against Chrysler, but on a retro American hot rod, Plymouth Prowler just sounds cooler. That is why you see &quot;Chrysler Prowlers&quot; listed as a Plymouth. Then the history. This is an original owner car, with the documentation and memorabilia that so often disappear as cars change hands. It comes with the original window sticker, owner's manual, shipping paperwork, sales brochure and Prowler CD. For someone who appreciates provenance, those pieces are almost as enjoyable as the car itself. They tell the story of the car from new rather than leaving the next owner to reconstruct decades later.
