Why Enthusiasts Value This Model The 488 was the first mid-engine turbocharged V8 Ferrari since the F40, and it arrived carrying the burden of proving the company had not given anything away. It made 661 horsepower and 561 lb-ft, reached 60 mph in about three seconds flat, and ran to 203 mph - but the number that mattered was throttle response, which Ferrari engineered to arrive so immediately that the usual complaint about turbocharging simply did not apply.
