This has been a great van for me.  I bought it so I would have a comfortable place to wait while my daughter tutored.  I added a Velit 2000u under bench12 volt air conditioner powered by a 280 amp hour battery as well as roof rack holding two 100 watt solar panels.  The panels are wired through a Renegy solar charge controller.  The battery can also be charged through a 120v battery charger.  I added fans, lights and usb outlets connected to the twelve volt battery so I could read and stay cooler in the van without having the engine running.  I added curtains and have insulated windshield and front window covers as well.  <br>      When I bought the van the headliner was in bad shape.  Eventually, I removed the whole thing and added the ceiling paneling seen in the pictures.  There is 3M insulation between the paneling and the roof.<br>     The van runs great.  I've used it for more than a year driving from West Los Angeles up the 405 and 101 freeways to Woodland Hills then to North Hollywood  and back three or four days a week.  That drive can be brutal during rush-hour but the van has never had breakdown or overheated.  It has plenty of power, even with the AC on.<br>    The van does have some issues.  Most plainly, the paint is awful,  The clear coat is peeling away in places and there are various dings.  The electrical system has some foibles.  Occasionally, the windows won't roll down or up.  After a break they start working.  Occasionally, the tachometer and/or speedometer stop working.  Whenever that happens the engine oil light/buzzer also comes on. That use to alarm me and I constantly checked the oil before I realized it was an electrical issue.  That issue always disappears if I stop, turn the engine off, then re-start the engine at which point everything works again.  When cold, the transmission can shift slowly.  After less than a mile that goes away.<br>    Great van, my daughter doesn't need me to drive her anymore so it's time to sell it.
