Over its production run, the car received a series of ever-larger V8s along with a series of Inline-6s. Any R107 is an exceptional machine, with a long list of amenities and remarkable performance.  In comparison to the European cars, US-market R107s received extra smog equipment and a distinctive set of four sealed beam headlamps. For 1974, the front and rear bumpers were increased in size by eight inches to account for new NHTSA regulations. Larger, more powerful engines and additional standard amenities ensured the R107 remained relevant throughout its life. Regardless of locale, the R107 was an instant hit and featured in numerous television and film series, often as an indication of success.
