With two Tundras after my wife died, I'm selling this older, higher mileage one. I just replaced all four Oxygen sensors and it has a stainless steel muffler system that replaced the original one. The smog check just passed with significant margins. It is registered up to Dec. 2, 2026. I upgraded all lights to LED for better performance both inside and outside except for the fog lights (one frontal photo shows the comparison between the original Halogen and the new LED headlight). I just replaced the front brake pads and the rear ones still have over 50% of the original thickness. I have added a front brush guard, a backup alarm and a backup camera system. In addition to the Leer Shell, the original cargo bed insert is also covered with a carpet insert. The battery is about one year old and is strong. The slightly oversize tires have less than 3,500 miles on them. The brake system also has the anti-rotation/no wheel locking feature. I used only synthetic Mobil 1 oil from 29,000 miles and up (changed every 5,000 miles) so the engine has minimal wear... should go well beyond 200,000 before any major problems. Runs and handles like a dream. And the four-wheel drive is superb. I had the front brake rotors replaced at 73,000 miles as some soft spots in the rotors gave a pulsing effect when braking from highway speeds. As to the maintenance, the timing belt and water pump have NOT been replaced. I replaced the rear shocks with Bilsteins. I think they are adjustable; however, I have bought a full set of both front and rear shocks that go with the sale. Since it has never been garaged, the hood, cab top, and camper shell top has visible paint degradation (I live under the San Jose airport paths). I had sanded and spray painted them, but the clear coat has degraded. **** FYI... What year was the best Tundra made? A: The most reliable years for the Toyota Tundra are generally considered to be the first generation, particularly 2000, 2002, and 2006.
