The 2026 GMC Yukon is powered by a 355-horsepower V8 engine matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (RWD) or 4-wheel drive (4WD). This aging engine isn’t as powerful as the turbo 6-cylinder engines in its Ford and Jeep rivals, but it still has plenty of thrust and is adequate for daily family-hauling duties.
Drivers seeking more muscle for towing regularly or just because they want more oomph will be interested in the bigger 6.2-liter V8 producing 420 hp or the Duramax turbodiesel 6-cylinder pumping out 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. We know most of you will go for a V8, but we’re partial to the diesel, which has both the highest torque rating and best fuel economy in the Yukon’s engine lineup. GMC and Chevy are the only brands that offer a diesel in this class.
One of the reasons families love the GMC Yukon is its ride quality on long highway trips. The long wheelbase and compliant suspension (especially with the optional Magnetic Ride Control system) create a truly premium feel for the driver and passengers alike. The available Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system makes the Yukon an even better road tripper.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The standard V8 in the Yukon returns 15 city/20 highway/17 combined mpg. The bigger 6.2-liter V8 is equally efficient but requires premium gas, yielding much higher fuel cost estimates. Meanwhile, the only diesel in this class gives the Yukon up to 21 city/26 highway/23 combined mpg. That’s a slightly better combined fuel economy rating than the hybrid <a href="https://www.kbb.com/toyota/sequoia/">Toyota Sequoia</a>.
The turbocharged 6-cylinder engines in the Ford Expedition, Jeep Wagoneer, and <a href="https://www.kbb.com/nissan/armada/">Nissan Armada</a> are all more efficient than the V8s in the Yukon. The Ford and Jeep don’t require premium fuel, but the Nissan does.

At 17.5 feet long, the Yukon full-size SUV takes up the same kind of space as the Ford Expedition. It’s big. But we think big is beautiful in this instance. The Yukon’s 16.8-inch central infotainment display is home to a Google built-in interface that’s feature-rich and user-friendly. It’s pre-loaded with our favorite Google apps like Google Maps and Google Assistant. Plus, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay are standard.
Air ride adaptive suspension 
The perfect addition to one of the more luxurious Yukon trims. As well as the enhanced comfort, it has adjustable heights for easy entries and exits, and for things like increasing ground clearance over tricky terrain.
Super Cruise 
General Motors’ hands-free adaptive cruise control now works on more than 400,000 miles of roads in North America. We’ve used this a lot in Cadillacs, and it’s now available in GMC and Chevy vehicles. It’s one of our favorite systems of its kind.
ProGrade trailering system 
Plenty of Yukon owners will be happy to get some really useful help from this optional feature when they hitch up a trailer and go to the lake or wherever. It includes trailer-specific blind-spot monitoring.
Rugged AT4 models 
The AT4 trim of the Yukon brings a stylish and functional appearance package plus Magnetic Ride Control and off-road tires, while the AT4 Ultimate is both rugged and luxurious with Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, Super Cruise, massaging seats, full-grain leather seats, and Bose 18-speaker audio.
Luxurious Denali models 
Denali has long represented luxury in the GMC brand, and the Yukon Denali lives up to its reputation with a power-sliding center console, a head-up display, and heated/ventilated leather seats. Meanwhile, Denali Ultimate is even fancier, with Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, Super Cruise, 24-inch wheels, and full-grain leather seats.

If you’re shopping for a full-size SUV, space is probably important to you, so let’s start there. The GMC Yukon boasts 42 inches of second-row legroom and 34.9 inches of third-row legroom. The third row is still best reserved for kids, but has adequate room for average-sized adults.
Second- and third-row legroom in the Yukon are about the same as the Ford Expedition and Jeep Wagoneer, but cargo space is a strength for the GMC. The Yukon has 25.5 cubic feet of cargo room behind the third row (more than the Ford, slightly less than the Jeep) and class-leading maximum cargo capacity of 122.7 cubic feet.
The centerpiece of the Yukon’s interior is a 16.8-inch infotainment display with Google built-in. Speaking of screens, an 8-inch climate control screen in the second row is also available. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard, and a few desirable interior options include Bose 22-speaker audio, a power-sliding center console, a head-up display, and Woodland Mahogany full-grain leather upholstery.
The Yukon’s Executive Seating package gives the second row first-class accommodations with heated, cooled, and massaging seats, a rear entertainment system with two screens, and a center console with wireless charging. This is a package you can’t get in the more mainstream Chevy Tahoe.
The big screen and fancy seats are terrific, but last year’s interior update we’re most excited about is the shifter’s relocation away from the awkward button layout in earlier versions of the Yukon. This SUV is now shifted via a more user-friendly stalk on the steering column.

The base engine for the 2026 GMC Yukon SUV remains the 5.3-liter V8, making 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Higher trims offer the option of a 6.2-liter V8 developing 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The other alternative — and a rarity for the class — is a turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel inline-6, which delivers 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. We’re happy to report that the diesel is available in every trim of the Yukon.
A 10-speed automatic transmission is employed throughout. Rear-wheel drive is standard; 4-wheel drive is optional, or standard with the AT4, AT4 Ultimate, and Denali Ultimate. The maximum towing figure is 8,400 pounds, achieved by a rear-drive model with the 5.3-liter V8. If this is important, the Jeep Wagoneer can tow up to 10,000 pounds, while both the Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia go past the 9,000-pound mark.
<h3>3-Year/36,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
GMC’s new vehicle warranty lasts three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Powertrains are covered for five years or 60,000 miles. These terms are typical among mainstream manufacturers. The first scheduled service is also included.
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
This generation of Yukon has earned the top 5-Star overall rating in crash testing carried out by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NHTSA</a>). Standard safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and Blind Zone Steering Assist.

The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is the most luxurious and most opulent S-Class. And that’s saying something.

The Maybach S 580 4Matic has a perfectly appropriate 496 horsepower, enough to propel this substantial car from standstill to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Go for the 621-hp S 680 4Matic, and 60 mph will come up 0.2 of a second sooner. Impressively quick speeds, regardless of vehicle size.
True to its high-class reason for being, the Maybach S-Class rides smoothly on an adaptive air suspension. Rear-wheel steering is also standard, which is a boon in tight city streets as well as providing effective cornering talents.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
This aspect probably won’t keep Maybach S-Class owners awake at night, but it’s good to know everything going in. The V8-powered Maybach S 580 4Matic achieves 20 mpg in combined city/highway driving, while the V12-powered Maybach S 680 4Matic sits at 15 mpg, according to the EPA.

Imposing Exterior

The overall exterior design of the S-Class conveys elegance, authority, and prestige. The Maybach version pushes that expensive envelope even further with its own grille design, bespoke 20-inch alloy wheels, plus chrome for the window surrounds and B-pillars. The whole effect adds up to a greater presence. Yet we can imagine some people might find a Rolls-Royce a little too ostentatious, and would prefer the arguably more tasteful Maybach.
A distinctive Maybach option is the two-tone color scheme, such as Moonlight Metallic/Verde Silver or Sonoran Brown/Obsidian Black Metallic. The Night Series design package involves a lot of gray and black.

Burmester surround-sound 
We think Burmester makes some of the best automotive sound systems, and the standard setup in the Maybach S-Class is among the best Burmester has to offer. It consists of 31 speakers handling 1,750 watts, plus Dolby Atmos for an incredibly detailed and immersive listening experience.
Active Parking Assist 
Part of the standard equipment inventory, this feature will steer the Maybach S-Class into and out of parallel or perpendicular spaces, taking care of gears and brakes as well. For a car of the Maybach’s size, we would welcome this whenever we drove into the city.
Driver assistance features 
We find it reassuring that Maybach S-Class models come standard with a whole array of advanced safety features like evasive steering assistance, cross-traffic functions, adaptive cruise control, and a dash cam.
Executive Rear Seat Package Plus 
This option turns the Maybach into a 4-seater, adding folding tables in the back, plus heated and cooled cupholders.
Cheers 
They’re both individual options, but Maybach buyers can order a small refrigerator for the rear of the cabin, plus a pair of special Maybach silver-plated champagne flutes with their own special compartment.
V12 engine 
A V12 has always been special and is even more rare these days. Yours if you choose the Maybach S 680 version. It sounds awesome and provides serious thrust.

Insulating Interior

Professional basketball players, take note, because the Maybach S-Class is even longer than its regular stablemate. Which translates to lots of rear legroom. If Shaq can fit in this car, you probably will too.
Once those soft-closing doors have performed their subtle action, Maybach occupants will sink into super comfortable seats covered in fine leather, and generally relish being cut off from the awful outside world thanks to a cocoon of profound luxury. Massaging seats are standard in both rows, and the rear seats have a neck-heating function. Rear passengers also have a tablet to control the infotainment system, as well as their own wireless phone charger. We could go on, but you get the idea.
One thing to keep in mind, before getting completely carried away by the deep-pile carpet and fine leather, is that trunk space is no better than that of a Toyota Corolla compact sedan.

<a href="https://www.kbb.com/mercedes-benz/">Mercedes-Benz</a> is rightly recognized for its luxury, having created and refined the S-Class flagship sedan over decades. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class takes that fabulous car, stretches it, adds a greater propensity for cosseting, and throws in the option for an awesome V12 engine. If the usual S-Class is for captains of industry, this Maybach is for the generals.

The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has a starting sticker price of $208,300, with the range-topping Mercedes-Maybach S 680 4Matic kicking off at $245,550.

None of the typical S-Class rivals, like the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/bmw/7series/">BMW 7 Series</a> or <a href="https://www.kbb.com/audi/a8/">Audi A8</a>, have anything quite as regal as the Mercedes-Maybach S. Which puts this conveyance above those contenders price-wise. But here’s an interesting twist &#8212; the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is priced competitively against the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/bentley/flying-spur/">Bentley Flying Spur</a> and something of a bargain compared with the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/rolls-royce/ghost/">Rolls-Royce Ghost</a>, while still offering many ultra-luxury features such as a chiller compartment and champagne flutes.

The Maybach S 580 employs a 4.0-liter V8, turbocharged to produce 496 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. This is augmented by a mild hybrid system, whose electric motor enables a smooth action to the fuel-saving engine stop/restart function, as well as providing brief boosts of 21 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. An electrical compressor also is part of the setup. It’s like a supercharger, working in tandem with the turbochargers.
This system powers the optional E-Active Body Control hydro-pneumatic suspension. It’s typical of Mercedes-Benz to corral technology in the pursuit of comfort and refinement.
The S 680 Maybach employs a fabulous twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque.
Both cars have a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (known as 4Matic) as standard.

<h3>4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
The new-car and powertrain warranty on a Maybach S-Class lasts four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Roadside assistance is included. This is the usual arrangement in the luxury sector.
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
The S-Class lineup hasn’t been crash-tested by any independent agencies. That’s a common thing for such high-end vehicles, but shouldn’t be a deal-breaker. Mercedes-Benz packs its flagship sedans with an array of standard safety features that’s comprehensive and often innovative, such as the special windshield wiper system that doesn’t mess up vision with indiscriminate splashing all over the glass.

What's New for 2026

There are no major changes to the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class this year. Well, there is one thing: the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Edition Emerald Isle, a limited run with only 25 cars earmarked for the United States. It features “hand-crafted details and exclusive finishes” inspired by California’s rugged Central Coast. As opposed to the rugged coast of Ireland, which is the place most people would normally refer to as the Emerald Isle.

The 2026 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is powered by a 192-horsepower hybrid 4-cylinder engine matched with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Its performance is comparable to the Honda Accord Hybrid, while the Toyota Camry has a little extra muscle with 225 hp.
The Sonata Hybrid’s output translates to a sufficient amount of muscle for most driving situations. This midsize sedan is about comfort and fuel economy, which is an approach we can get behind without a qualm. The only qualm we might have is that the drivetrain itself isn’t as refined as the one in the ultra-smooth Honda Accord Hybrid. And we’ve found that brake feel — often a tricky thing to get right because of the energy regeneration system — doesn’t seem quite as natural as the Honda Accord or the Toyota Camry.
Upgrading to the top Limited trim unlocks one of our favorite features of the Sonata Hybrid: Highway Driving Assist. It doesn’t allow for hands-free driving, but it’s one of our favorite semi-autonomous highway driving systems of its kind. It keeps you a safe distance from the car in front of you and keeps you centered in your lane, all while feeling very natural.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid returns up to 47 city/56 highway/51 combined mpg in the base Blue trim. The SEL and Limited models are rated at 44 city/51 highway/47 combined mpg. These ratings make the Sonata Hybrid tied with the Camry as the most efficient hybrid in its class (an impressive feat), and it’s slightly more efficient than the Accord Hybrid. For reference, the non-hybrid version of the Sonata returns up to 32 combined mpg.

Sleek Exterior

With its refresh in 2024, the Sonata adopted what Hyundai calls the Seamless Horizon Lamp, which spans across the front end and is echoed by a bar of red across the tail. It makes this midsize sedan look stylish and high-tech without sacrificing its value and practicality.

Panoramic curved display 
This feature houses a digital gauge cluster and an infotainment screen in one sleek display, giving the Sonata’s cockpit a high-tech, driver-centric theme.
Wireless smartphone connectivity 
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard on every 2026 Sonata. This makes it effortless to bring your maps, music, and more to the screen in the car without taking your phone out of your purse or pocket.
Wireless charging 
In addition to wireless smartphone connectivity, the SEL and Limited trims of the Sonata Hybrid have a handy wireless charging pad to keep your device topped up.
Highway Driving Assist 
This semi-autonomous driving system uses features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring to make highway driving safer and more relaxed. It only comes in the Limited trim.
Hyundai Digital Key 2.0 
This feature enables access for multiple drivers, using a phone app or a key card. It’s standard in the Limited trim.
Remote Smart Parking Assist 
This is another terrific tech feature that’s exclusive to the Limited trim. It enables the driver to nose the Sonata into or out of a parking space while standing outside and pressing buttons on the key fob.

High-Tech

We’ve been impressed with the technology in <a href="https://www.kbb.com/hyundai/">Hyundai models</a> in recent years, and the Sonata is no exception. Dual 12.3-inch displays span the dash; one a digital gauge cluster and the other the central infotainment display. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard across the board.
The front seats are all-day comfortable, and the top Limited trim gets leather seats that are heated and ventilated in front. Other niceties that come with the Limited model include a head-up display, a heated steering wheel, and Bose audio.
Rear seat space is below average at 34.8 inches, but it’s certainly roomy enough for kids. If you’ll have adults in the back seats regularly, they’ll appreciate the extra space in the Camry or Accord Hybrid. We noticed the trunk has a nice, wide opening that makes it easy to load and unload. It measures 15.6 cubic feet, which is more trunk space than the Camry and less than the Accord.

The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is up against some tough competition in the midsize hybrid sedan class, but it’s worth considering for many reasons. For starters, it’s tied for the best fuel economy in a segment where efficiency is paramount; it gets up to 51 combined mpg. Another best-in-class bragging right is class-leading warranty coverage. Further bolstering its reputation as a practical family vehicle are top-notch safety scores. A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine works in combination with an electric motor to create an adequate 192 hp. This drives the front wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. There’s no option for all-wheel drive — if that’s a desirable aspect when choosing a new hybrid sedan, check out the Toyota Camry.
<h3>5-Year/60,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
There are no warranties in the mainstream milieu better than those offered by Hyundai. The new-car warranty is five years or 60,000 miles, whichever happens first. The powertrain and hybrid battery are covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles.
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
The Sonata currently holds the highest accolade of Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (<a href="https://www.iihs.org/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IIHS</a>). Granted, so do the Camry and Accord, but it’s still an impressive award. The Sonata also took the maximum 5-star overall score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NHTSA</a>).

The 2026 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid introduces an affordable new base trim called Blue. The Sonata Hybrid Blue is also the most efficient in the lineup, netting up to 51 combined mpg. Another update this year is a standard panoramic sunroof on the midrange SEL trim.

The Hyundai Sonata is one of the most value-packed sedans in its class and offers modern tech, excellent safety ratings, and class-leading warranty coverage.

The 2026 Hyundai Sonata is powered by a 191-horsepower 4-cylinder engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD), or optional all-wheel drive in the case of the SEL Sport trim. This side of the Sonata is more about comfort and fuel economy than precision and speed, which we can get behind without a qualm. Overall, it’s an agreeable experience.
Drivers who want more muscle to call on occasionally, the N Line has a turbocharged engine, which puts out a hearty 290 hp through a wet dual-clutch 8-speed automatic transmission, a tweaked suspension, and 19-inch wheels. A sports sedan in this class from a mainstream brand is increasingly rare, so the Sonata N Line brings some welcome adrenaline to this practical segment.
In addition to the turbo engine, the N Line trim is the only variant of the non-hybrid Sonata that comes with Highway Driving Assist. It doesn’t allow hands-free driving, but it is one of our favorite semi-autonomous highway driving systems. It keeps the Sonata a safe distance from the car in front of you and centered in your lane while feeling very natural.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The Hyundai Sonata’s base engine returns up to 28 city/38 highway/32 combined mpg with front-wheel drive and 25 city/34 highway/28 combined mpg with all-wheel drive. These efficiency ratings are about the same as those of the Kia K5 and the non-hybrid Honda Accord.
It’s worth mentioning that the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid nets up to 47 city/56 highway/51 combined mpg, which is about the same as the Camry and a little better than the Accord Hybrid.

Panoramic curved display 
This feature houses a digital gauge cluster and an infotainment screen in one sleek display giving the Sonata’s cockpit a high-tech and driver-centric theme.
Wireless smartphone connectivity 
Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard on every 2026 Sonata. This makes it effortless to bring your maps, music, and more to the screen in the car without taking your phone out of your purse or pocket.
N Line model 
Want a sedan that’s practical and affordable but also fun to drive? The Sonata N Line strikes this balance nicely thanks to a 290-hp turbo engine, plus a sporty appearance package to match.
Highway Driving Assist 
This semi-autonomous driving system uses features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring to make highway driving safer and more relaxed. It only comes in the N Line trim.
Available AWD 
Although it’s limited to just the SEL Sport trim, we appreciate that all-wheel drive is optional in the Sonata, adding confident all-weather traction to this practical sedan.
Hyundai Digital Key 2.0 
This feature enables access for multiple drivers, using a phone app or a key card. It’s standard in the N Line trim.

High-Tech Interior

We’ve been impressed with the technology of <a href="https://www.kbb.com/hyundai/">Hyundai</a> models in recent years, and the Sonata is no exception. Dual 12.3-inch displays span the dash; one is a digital gauge cluster, and the other is the central infotainment display. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard across the board.
The front seats are all-day comfortable, and the top N Line trim gets unique, sporty seats with H-Tex and microfiber upholstery. Other niceties that come with the N Line model include rear seat vents, a sunroof, and Bose audio.
The rear seat space is below average at 34.8 inches, but it’s certainly roomy enough for kids. If you’ll regularly have adults in the back seats, they’ll appreciate the extra space in the Camry or Accord. We noticed the trunk has a nice, wide opening that makes it easy to load and unload. It measures 16 cubic feet, which is more trunk space than the Camry but less than the Accord.

The Hyundai Sonata doesn’t have the sales numbers of the big guys in this class, but it’s an appealing choice in midsize sedans. For starters, its sleek design makes it look not quite like anything else in this class. Its beauty is more than skin-deep. Inside is a comfortable and high-tech cabin, and the Sonata boasts top-notch safety ratings and the best warranty coverage in its class. Further compounding its practicality, this sedan is available with all-wheel drive (AWD), and there’s even a turbo engine option, making it more exciting to drive. Hyundai simplified the 2026 Sonata&#8217;s trim lineup. The old SEL and SEL Convenience trims are gone and replaced with the SEL Sport trim with desirable features like 18-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, and available all-wheel drive.

The 2026 Lexus RX offers a compelling mix of refinement, technology and value, making it a benchmark among midsize luxury SUVs.

The RX 350 employs a turbocharged engine generating 275 horsepower, with front-wheel drive (FWD) as standard or all-wheel drive (AWD) available as an option. We&#8217;ve found this version of the RX responsive, efficient, and easy to drive. The cabin remains quiet and composed, even in stop-and-go traffic.
The RX 350h hybrid sacrifices a bit of performance (246 hp maximum output) for significantly better fuel economy. The 366-hp RX 500h, on the other hand, delivers more power and sharper handling thanks to upgrades in the suspension, steering, and all-wheel-drive system.
The 304-hp RX450h+ balances the power and economy mission while adding an impressive all-electric driving range on top. Despite having less horsepower than the RX 500h, and a continuously variable transmission, it’s only about 0.3 of a second slower from standstill to 60 mph, with a time of 6.2 seconds.
Fuel Economy
The RX is more efficient than many of its competitors, returning 25 mpg combined with FWD and 24 mpg with AWD. By comparison, the Genesis GV80 and Audi Q7 average 22 mpg combined, while the Cadillac XT5 nearly matches the RX with 24 mpg combined.
The RX 350h hybrid improves fuel economy to 36 mpg combined with standard AWD. The RX 500h, also AWD, focuses more on performance but still manages 27 mpg combined.
The RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid leads the pack with 83 MPGe and up to 37 miles of electric-only driving when fully charged.

Modern Exterior

The RX’s exterior design is sleek and contemporary. It’s a familiar look and its popularity suggests it continues to resonate with buyers. The F Sport Design package adds visual flair with specific front and rear styling, exclusive wheels, and special trim accents.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto 
Standard across the lineup, wireless smartphone integration keeps things tidy and convenient &#8212; no cables required. Wireless charging also becomes standard for 2026, allowing users to ditch the cords entirely.
Traffic Jam Assist 
While not fully autonomous, the RX can manage low-speed traffic with automated steering, braking, and acceleration under certain conditions, perfect for stop-and-go driving.
Gorgeous color palette 
The RX offers a wide range of exterior colors, including Caviar, Cloudburst Gray, Copper Crest, Grecian Water, Iridium, Incognito, and Ultra White. Interior options include Macadamia, Palomino, Peppercorn, and Rioja Red.
21-speaker audio 
The Mark Levinson surround-sound system delivers crisp, immersive sound through 21 speakers.  It’s one of the best in this class.
Phone as a key 
The RX can recognize your smartphone and use it as a digital key. You can lock, unlock, and start the vehicle without taking your phone out, and even share access with friends and family.
Automated parallel parking 
This system takes the stress out of parallel parking by controlling steering, throttle, and braking using 12 sensors and four cameras, allowing the RX to essentially park itself.

Luxurious Cabin

Lexus always delivers on interior luxury. The RX’s 2-row/5-passenger cabin is quiet, well-appointed, and thoughtfully designed. Seats are supportive for long drives, and the layout is intuitive without feeling cluttered.
Rear-seat legroom measures 37.4 inches, about average for the class. Cargo space behind the second row is 29.6 cubic feet, which trails the Genesis GV80 and Lincoln Nautilus by about five cubic feet, but is comparable to the Cadillac XT5. Folding down the rear seats opens up 46.2 cubic feet, still less than the 60 to 85 cubic feet offered by some competitors, and about level with the Lexus NX, a substantially smaller SUV.

The 2026 Lexus RX continues to be one of the top-selling luxury SUVs in the United States for excellent reasons, including its quiet cabin, plush interior, and ample standard equipment. The RX is also affordable to own, having previously earned the Kelley Blue Book <a href="https://www.kbb.com/lexus/rx/2024/cost-to-own/">Lowest 5-Year Cost to Own</a> award in its class. For luxury and practicality in a relatively affordable package, the RX is a great choice.

The 2026 RX offers four powertrains. The RX 350 features a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 275 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard; all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional.
The RX 350h hybrid pairs an electric motor with a 4-cylinder engine to achieve 246 hp and 233 lb-ft of torque. That&#8217;s less powerful than the RX 350, but more efficient and comes with AWD as standard. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is deployed here.
The RX 500h hybrid ups the ante with 366 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, plus a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard AWD. It’s quicker than the RX 350 and nearly as efficient.
The RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid delivers 304 hp and an EPA-rated 37 miles of electric range.
<h3>4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
The Lexus RX comes with a 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty and a 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty. A 10-year/150,000-mile warranty covers the hybrid battery, with an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty backing any other hybrid components. All RX models also come with a 1-year/10,000-mile complimentary service plan.
<h3>Safety</h3>
Although the 2026 model hasn&#8217;t been crash tested yet, the functionally identical 2025 Lexus RX received mostly 5-star marks from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings">NHTSA</a>). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (<a href="https://www.iihs.org/ratings">IIHS</a>) named the RX a Top Safety Pick for 2024, but updates to front overlap testing methods saw lower scores for 2025. Contributing to the safety of every Lexus RX is the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. It bundles features like automatic emergency braking, lane-tracing assistance, road sign recognition, all-speed adaptive cruise control, and more.

The 2026 Lexus RX receives small enhancements for this model year. F Sport Handling and F Sport Performance trim can now be paired with the available Appearance Package. Wireless phone charging is now standard across the lineup. The 2026 RX also sees the introduction of the Premium trim for the RX 450h+ model.

The Subaru Impreza is an affordable, spacious, and practical compact hatchback with standard all-wheel drive (AWD).

The 2026 Subaru Impreza is powered by a 152-horsepower 4-cylinder engine matched with a CVT automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. A familiar staple of <a href="https://www.kbb.com/subaru/">Subaru</a> models, it produces sufficient thrust to make piloting an Impreza an enjoyable enough experience. It can come off a bit coarse if you’re not used to Subaru’s trademark flat engines, but its refinement levels are above those of earlier Impreza generations.
Even more refined is the gutsier 2.5-liter boxer engine that powers the Impreza RS. This turns up the heat with 180 horsepower and is an easy upgrade to recommend if your budget allows it. That little extra power is noticeable; it drives a little smoother, and the fuel economy is about the same between the two engines.
Perhaps more significantly, the refined Impreza boasts outstanding ride quality. Subaru stiffened the chassis a bit in the 2024 redesign, which allowed the use of softer springs and firmer shock absorbers. The result? We find the Impreza a practical compact hatchback that’s remarkably comfortable on long trips but quite capable on twisty pavement.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The 2026 Subaru Impreza is rated at 27 city/34 highway/30 combined mpg with its base engine. All three of those numbers drop by one with the bigger engine in the RS, making a negligible difference in fuel costs.
The Impreza is about as efficient as the Mazda3, but the Honda Civic Hatchback and Toyota Corolla Hatchback get 34 and 35 combined mpg, respectively. The Civic Hatchback has a <a href="https://www.kbb.com/honda/civic-hybrid/">hybrid option</a> that gets up to 48 combined mpg and is priced close to the Impreza RS.

Sporty Styling

Now that the Subaru Impreza only comes in the Sport and RS trims, every model has a distinctly sporty look to it. Both trims have stylish 18-inch wheels with a dark gray finish, and the RS trim adds extra black exterior accents. A nice addition for 2026 is the new Citron Yellow Pearl paint option.

All-wheel drive 
A Subaru hallmark, with active torque vectoring to deliver the right amount of drive to each wheel for optimum grip and stability, all-wheel drive is standard in every new Impreza.
EyeSight 
The Impreza’s EyeSight driver assist includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and advanced adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
Infotainment system 
Subaru fits an 11.6-inch touchscreen into every 2026 Impreza, which is accompanied by wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration.
Paddle shifters 
Although they’re not a replacement for a stick shift, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters in the Impreza enable a manual mode with eight preset gear ratios, creating a more engaging driving experience.
RS model 
Rolling on a sport suspension, wearing unique exterior treatments, bringing extra safety tech, and producing 180 hp, we think the RS is worth the extra cost.
Harman Kardon audio 
The Impreza RS offers an optional Harman Kardon 10-speaker, 432-watt premium audio system, which brings music and podcasts to life.

Functional Interior

In typical Subaru fashion, the Impreza has a functional and practical interior that’s low on frills. The quality and durability are good for the price point. The interior’s centerpiece is a vertically oriented 11.6-inch infotainment display. The big icons are easy to manage, but this system is already feeling a little dated compared to some rivals. At least wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard, and the HVAC controls still use physical buttons.
Interior space in the Subaru Impreza is great for a compact hatchback. 36.5 inches of rear legroom and class-leading 38 inches of rear headroom make it one of the most accommodating back seats for taller adults in this class. There’s 20.4 cubic feet of cargo room behind the rear seats and a whopping 56 cubic feet with the back seats folded down. The Impreza is among the roomiest compacts in its class, but the Civic Hatchback has a little extra cargo space and rear legroom.

The Subaru Impreza is the offbeat brand’s most affordable car, and it brings with it many of the charms that people love about the brand. Some Subaru hallmarks like strong safety ratings and standard all-wheel drive are accounted for, plus it has the frugality and practicality of a compact hatchback with adult-friendly interior space, even in back. The RS trim turns up the fun while keeping it fuel-efficient, and a few options like a sunroof and Harman Kardon audio system make it more premium than you might expect.
