Buyers of a new Panamera have a choice of drivetrains ranging from a more-than-adequate 348 horsepower to a gargantuan 771 hp. They can zip from a standstill to 60 mph in five seconds (sweetly brisk) or 2.8 seconds — incredible for a large luxury car or virtually anything else on four wheels. The top Turbo S E-Hybrid also has a top speed of 202 mph. Another of our favorite large luxury sedans, the BMW 760i xDrive, gathers up its 536 horses to hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.
An air suspension is standard, so the Panamera can do comfort as well as it does speed. The plug-in hybrids also offer a more sophisticated active suspension for a wider range of cushioning or connection. It keeps the car flat, eliminating body roll through fast corners, and prevents any pitching under heavy braking or hard acceleration. A rear-wheel steering system is another Panamera option, improving agility and maneuverability even further.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The base Panamera achieves 21 mpg in combined city/highway driving. It’s the same figure with all-wheel drive (AWD). That’s a little thirstier than the Mercedes-Benz S 500 (24 mpg combined) and much thirstier than the base BMW 740i (28 mpg combined).
Porsche says the plug-in hybrid batteries are capable of being recharged in 2.5 hours.

With a design more evolutionary than revolutionary, this latest generation of Panamera will not shock any onlookers. That’s fine by us. We like how it evokes the famed 911 sports car. The headlights are different, with matrix-LED technology as standard. And we think the taillights are cool — forming an unbroken bar from one side to the other.
Unlike its conventional sedan competitors, the Panamera has a hatchback. That brings some cargo-carrying versatility while maintaining a sleek roof line.

Now with Dolby Atmos, this is one of the absolute best-sounding car systems we’ve ever heard.
Porsche Active Ride 
Although the Panamera has an air suspension as standard, this optional setup (standard with the top Turbo S E-Hybrid) has an electro-hydraulic pump for each damper, enabling the Panamera to reduce body movement to an even greater degree. It will also raise the ride height for easier entries and exits.
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes 
A famous and famously expensive option in Porsche vehicles. They withstand all sorts of harsh treatment without fading, warping or wearing. A good thing to have when your luxury car can develop 771 horsepower and, fortunately, they’re standard with the Turbo S E-Hybrid.
Sport Chrono package 
Another well-known Porsche feature, this includes a stopwatch and a launch control mode for the automatic transmission. It’s standard in the GTS and E-Hybrids, optional in the two lower trims.
Assistance package 
This options bundle includes a head-up display, night vision, and a screen for the front passenger.

High-Quality Interior

Porsche keeps switchgear to a minimum in the 2026 Panamera. Various functions are accessible through the screens, and the car comes with a 12.6-inch digital driver information display as standard. An optional 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger is not visible for the driver.
The high center console gives a cockpit-like ambiance, underlining the company’s sporting heritage. Naturally for a luxury car, there’s also a cosseting side. Porsche says it has improved the quality of the Panamera’s seat foam (although we never felt the previous generation was lacking in this respect), and makes leather-free upholstery available. Other little touches include finless air vents that can be preset along with preferred climate settings.
Occupant space is perfectly reasonable for average-sized adults in both rows. The luggage area behind the rear seats measures an eminently useful 17.4 cubic feet. This expands to 46.9 cubic feet when those seats are folded down. The plug-in hybrid variants reduce these figures slightly.

Admittedly, the Panamera starts quite expensive and finishes at a point where some people might be dabbing tears from their eyes. For buyers with more accommodating budgets, however, there’s a 2-for-1 deal happening here.
From the outside, looking in and looking on, the Panamera is a large luxury car. It’s prestigious, roomy, full of opulent touches, and packed with tech. From the driver’s seat, another car can emerge, one that has a direct line of descent from the awesome 911 sports car, the kind of thing at which <a href="http://www.kbb.com/porsche">Porsche</a> excels.
That’s not to say the Panamera has a firm and sporty ride — it can be as smooth as the driver and occupants want it to be. It’s more like an undertone of sportiness, a composure and precision that becomes more assertive when the driver goes off for a solo jaunt around some entertaining roads. It also feels reassuringly stable on the freeway.
Maybe you can’t always please everyone, but the Panamera makes a Herculean effort to please as many people as possible. Well, those who can afford it.

If rear-wheel drive (RWD) is acceptable, we have no qualms recommending the base Panamera, as it’s already well-stocked with standard equipment. This approach might also leave room in the budget to add a few options, which tend to be expensive (we have a gift for understatement).
The other large flagship car with big driver appeal is the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/bmw/7-series/">BMW 7 Series</a>, starting just over $100,000. The Panamera’s base engine is a turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 making 348 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available as an option — then the car is called the Panamera 4.
The plug-in hybrid Panamera 4 E-Hybrid augments that turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 with an electric motor for a substantial total of 463 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid retains that setup while boosting output to 536 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque.
The Turbo S E-Hybrid brings in a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter to pair with an electric motor for a total of 670 hp and 685 lb-ft of torque. The same engine is in the range-topping Turbo S E-Hybrid, but this drivetrain makes a massive 771 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque. This output makes it the most powerful Panamera the company has produced.
The sporty Panamera GTS employs a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that sends 493 hp and 486 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels.
Every Panamera has an 8-speed automatic transmission.
<h3>4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
Porsche’s new-vehicle and powertrain warranties last for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Roadside assistance is also included on the same terms. This coverage is typical for a luxury European marque. High-voltage batteries in the plug-in hybrid models are guaranteed for eight years or 100,000 miles. Porsche also offers a complimentary first service at 10,000 miles or one year.
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
This generation of Panamera has not been crash-tested by any independent agencies, which is quite common among high-priced, low-volume vehicles. Standard safety features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian/cyclist detection (Warn and Brake Assist), plus blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert (Lane Change Assist).

What's new for 2026

This year brings a few tech upgrades. The infotainment system has been tweaked for faster responses and now allows users to download third-party apps. The frugal Toyota Corolla Hybrid gets up to 50 combined mpg, is available with all-wheel drive, and has the lowest starting price of any new hybrid.

The Toyota Corolla Hybrid is powered by a 138-horsepower gas-electric hybrid 4-cylinder engine matched with an electronically controlled continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. That’s notably less than the 200 hp of the Honda Civic Hybrid, a more entertaining option in this class.
In our experience, the Corolla Hybrid is an agreeable car to drive with easy manners. However, we’re not surprised about where this car’s priorities lie. The trade-off for its excellent fuel economy ratings is less power and torque than the non-hybrid version of the Corolla.
We also noticed the brakes can be a bit grabby, which isn’t uncommon among hybrids. If you’re already experienced with hybrids, you may not even notice. However, if you drive a Corolla Hybrid as your first hybrid, the brake feel may take some getting used to.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The Toyota Corolla Hybrid gets up to 53 city/46 highway/50 combined mpg. Upgrading to all-wheel drive or the bigger wheels on the SE trim reduces these efficiency ratings a bit, but even the least efficient version of the Corolla Hybrid gets 44 combined mpg. For context, the most efficient version of the non-hybrid Corolla gets up to 35 combined mpg.
Comparing max combined fuel economy ratings, the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid is a little more efficient, getting up to 54 mpg. The Toyota Prius is still the efficiency king of this class, getting up to 57 mpg, while the Honda Civic Hybrid returns up to 49 mpg.

Modern Exterior

The Toyota Corolla Hybrid has a subtle and stylish design that can vary a bit depending on the trim. For example, the SE model has a sportier appearance. We wish you could get the Corolla Hybrid with the hatchback body that’s available with the non-hybrid, but if you want a hybrid hatch from Toyota, you’ll have to get a Prius.

50 MPG 
The Toyota Corolla Hybrid uses an efficient and proven hybrid powertrain that’s good on gas, achieving an impressive combined fuel economy rating of up to 50 mpg.
Available All-Wheel Drive 
All-wheel drive is an uncommon option in this class. The Corolla Hybrid is the only variant of the Corolla with available all-wheel drive, an important feature for some buyers that’s not available on the Honda Civic Hybrid or Hyundai Elantra Hybrid.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 
This updated suite of safety tech bundles many driver assistance features. It has full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and more.
Toyota Audio Multimedia 
This user-friendly touchscreen is loaded with connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It’s easy to bring the maps, music, and more from your phone to the screen in your Corolla Hybrid. The lower trims come with an 8-inch touchscreen, while the top-end XLE grade has a 10.5-inch touchscreen (which is optional on the SE).
Sporty SE model 
The SE trim adds a sportier look to this efficient hybrid with 18-inch alloy wheels, a Sport drive mode, and sporty front and rear fascias.
Premium XLE trim 
The Toyota Corolla XLE is an upscale hybrid that retains an affordable price tag. Features include a power moonroof, SofTex heated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10.5-inch touchscreen, and blind-spot monitoring.

Practical Interior

We’ve found the interior quality of the Corolla Hybrid to be pretty good for a compact car at this price point. The standard cloth seats are comfortable, and the XLE trim gets SofTex faux leather seating. As for the infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen (or 10.5-inch in the XLE), we love that it has standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a traditional volume knob.
We found the Corolla Hybrid&#8217;s rear seat legroom just okay at 34.8 inches. It also has a smallish trunk with only 13.1 cubic feet of space. The Hyundai Elantra Hybrid has 38 inches of rear legroom and a 14.2 cubic-foot trunk, while the Honda Civic Hybrid has 37.4 inches/14.8 cubic feet in the sedan and more cargo space in the hatchback.
For reference, the pricier and more efficient Toyota Prius has the same rear legroom as the Corolla Hybrid, but due to its hatchback design, the Prius has more cargo space and flexibility.

Practicality and efficiency are the calling cards of the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/toyota/corolla/">Toyota Corolla</a>, and those virtues are enhanced with its optional hybrid powertrain. The Corolla Hybrid delivers much of what we love about the regular Corolla sedan and adds a hybrid setup returning up to 50 mpg in mixed driving, plus the option of all-wheel drive. It also has great safety scores, strong resale value, and the lowest starting price of any new hybrid. These strengths add up to make the Toyota Corolla Hybrid simply one of the most sensible new car buying decisions the discerning shopper can make.

Engine and Transmission

The Toyota Corolla Hybrid’s gas-electric powertrain includes a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine and is rated at 138 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the front or all four wheels via an automatic transmission of the continuously variable variety. The Corolla Hybrid’s output is nearly the same as the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid’s and less than that of the Honda Civic Hybrid.
Those power and torque ratings are quite a bit lower than what you get with the non-hybrid Corolla. The argument for the hybrid over the regular Corolla is much better fuel economy, plus the all-wheel-drive option.
<h3>3-Year/36,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
The Toyota Corolla Hybrid is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Additionally, the hybrid components are covered by an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty. <a href="https://www.kbb.com/toyota/">Toyota</a> also throws in a 2-year/25,000-mile complimentary maintenance plan.
<h3>Safety</h3>
The Toyota Corolla Hybrid has earned a 5-Star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NHTSA</a>). It also received the Top Safety Pick award for 2024 from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (<a href="https://www.iihs.org/ratings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IIHS</a>). Following a brief hiatus after the discontinuation of the previous generation of the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/dodge/charger/2023/">Dodge Charger in 2023</a>, a <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/report-dodge-speeding-gas-powered-charger-plan/">gas engine option has returned</a> to the Dodge Charger in 2026. After spending a couple of years exclusively available as the Charger Daytona EV (which we <a href="https://www.kbb.com/dodge/charger-daytona/">review separately</a>), a more affordable Charger with a 6-cylinder gas engine should have more mainstream appeal. Since it&#8217;s available in both 2-door coupe and <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/dodge-debuts-4-door-charger/">4-door sedan</a> body styles, it effectively replaces both the Charger and <a href="https://www.kbb.com/dodge/challenger/">Challenger</a> of yore. All-wheel drive (AWD) is standard, two outputs are available, and it has interior space you can actually use, making this a practical muscle car.

We expect the gas-powered 2026 Dodge Charger to arrive in U.S. dealerships in early 2026. It will be offered alongside the Dodge Charger Daytona EV.
<h3>Engine and Transmission</h3>
The 2026 Dodge Charger is powered by the Hurricane 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine, available with a standard output and a high output. Although it doesn’t have the same sound or grit as the Hemi V8 options in the old Charger, we’ve been impressed with the Hurricane engine in <a href="https://www.kbb.com/ram/">Ram</a> trucks and <a href="https://www.kbb.com/jeep/">Jeep</a> SUVs.
The entry-level R/T trim produces 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque, while the high-output Scat Pack version makes 550 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. Those are better performance specs than the old Charger R/T and Charger Scat Pack, respectively. All of the above use an 8-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard across the board. For a purer muscle car experience, the Charger has on-demand rear-wheel drive (RWD), bringing the tire-smoking fun.

2026 Dodge Charger Pricing

The 2026 Dodge Charger starts at $51,990 for the base R/T trim with the two-door coupe body. The high-performance Scat Pack begins at $56,990. The four-door sedan body is a $2,000 option for both trims.

If the pricing of the gas-powered Charger seems a little steep, it actually isn&#8217;t far off from the V8-powered 2023 Dodge Charger R/T, which had a lower output and no all-wheel drive option. Here&#8217;s hoping Dodge comes up with a milder and more affordable GT or SXT variant. In the small world of American muscle cars, the Charger is priced similarly to the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/ford/mustang/">Ford Mustang</a> GT, which keeps the V8 faith.

The all-electric 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQE midsize luxury sedan is plush and hushed, with plenty of tech. Maximum range is 308 miles.

New for 2026, the rear-wheel-drive (RWD) EQE 320 enjoys 315 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque from a single electric motor. It will accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds &#8212; somewhat brisk and a couple of tenths quicker than last year’s EQE 350.
To compare, the entry-level Audi A6 Sportback e-tron has 375 hp and can reach 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, while the 335-hp BMW i5 eDrive40 can do the same sprint in 5.7 seconds.
Funnily enough, the same 315 hp/417 lb-ft output is achieved by the EQE 320 4Matic with all-wheel drive (AWD) and two electric motors. The extra traction helps this car sprint to 60 mph 0.3 of a second faster than its stablemate.
We’ll go into more depth when we get to drive these cars. As for ride quality, we always like luxuriating in the smooth ride of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and often marvel at how utterly unflustered they can be. The EQE sedan certainly feels this way. And electric power complements the calmness perfectly, thanks to its virtually silent operation. The floor-mounted battery, meanwhile, helps create a low center of gravity, resulting in a pleasant amount of agility and plenty of stability. Optional rear-wheel steering enhances that stability on the highway, adds greater poise on twisting roads, and brings the tight turning radius of a much smaller car &#8212; which is a boon around town.
The high-performance <a href="https://www.kbb.com/mercedes-benz/mercedes-amg-eqe/">AMG EQE sedan</a> has its own review. So does the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/mercedes-benz/mercedes-eq-eqe-suv/">EQE SUV</a>.
<h3>Range and Charging</h3>
Maximum range is 308 miles, achieved by the rear-drive EQE 320. That pretty much matches the BMW i5’s best, although both are eclipsed by the 392 miles of the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron.
It takes 32 minutes to recharge the battery from 10% to 80% with a DC fast charger. That’s similar to the BMW i5, and about 10 minutes longer than the best time of the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron.
Mercedes-Benz has yet to announce the all-wheel-drive 2026 EQE 320 4Matic’s range.

Aerodynamic Exterior

Although it’s a midsize luxury sedan, the EQE rides on a different platform than that of the combustion-powered E-Class. The EQE is about three inches longer and follows a design language similar to the EQS flagship model. It’s still unmistakably a Mercedes-Benz — thanks to the usual understated elegance — but also has a more aerodynamic, more futuristic look than an E-Class. New alloy wheel designs are added for 2026.
Unlike many other electric vehicles, there’s no storage area under the hood. In fact, Mercedes-Benz doesn’t want its clients rummaging around under there. To top up the windshield washer fluid, there’s a pop-out nozzle on the driver&#8217;s-side front fender.

Burmester audio 
It’s optional, but this high-quality 15-speaker, 710-watt surround-sound system available in the EQE sedan is one of our favorites. It includes immersive Dolby Atmos technology.
Biometric authentication 
Owners can store up to seven user profiles, each activated by a fingerprint reader. It’s gimmicky, sure, but we also think it’s cool and science-fiction-esque.
Panoramic sunroof 
A panoramic sunroof is standard with the 2026 Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan, contributing to the spacious cabin’s airy ambiance.
Hyperscreen 
The optional high-resolution Hyperscreen dash features three screens under one 56-inch curved glass surface: a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch central OLED touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger.
Augmented reality 
This optional feature is particularly cool. Street names and direction arrows are superimposed on the navigation display over real-time video of the road. It adds confidence and convenience when trying to reach a destination.
Airmatic adaptive air suspension 
This adaptive suspension enables a range of settings from super-comfortable to somewhat sporty.

High-Tech, Deep-Luxury Interior

Knowing whether to go “ooh” or “ahh” is difficult. The oohs are for the gadgets, like the optional full-width Hyperscreen. The ahhs happen when you settle into the supremely comfortable seats and run a hand over the fine cabin materials. We also like the overall interior design — modern yet welcoming.
There’s more space in here than in the already roomy E-Class. And with no transmission tunnel encroaching on the floor area, rear passengers have plenty of leeway to stretch out, including 38.2 inches of legroom. Just be sure to bend down a little more than usual when climbing in, because the roofline swoops down markedly.
Unlike the larger <a href="https://www.kbb.com/mercedes-benz/mercedes-eq-eqs/">EQS sedan</a>, which has a hatchback like the Porsche Panamera, this EQE employs a conventional trunk. At 10.9 cubic feet, it’s on the small side. If this aspect is important, the BMW i5’s trunk area is 17.3 cubic feet. Meanwhile, cargo space in the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron goes from 26 cubic feet behind the rear seats to 39.3 cubic feet with those seats folded.

Now in its third model year, it feels like <a href="https://www.kbb.com/mercedes-benz/">Mercedes-Benz</a> is still trying to make the EQE fit into the market somehow. Or perhaps not trying at all, as the future of the EQE is not looking rosy. Although we have pricing and updated information on the 2026 model, <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/reports-mercedes-stops-taking-most-ev-orders-in-u-s/">Mercedes-Benz is apparently rethinking which electric vehicles it’s bringing into the United States</a>.
It would be a shame if the EQE becomes history. After all, it’s been one of <a href="https://www.kbb.com/electric-car/best-luxury-electric-cars/">our highest-ranking cars in its sector</a>. But it seems we’re in a time of general upheaval anyway, so we’ll have to see how it all pans out. We have checked with Mercedes-Benz, though, and can confirm that the EQE is around for 2026, at least.

Other all-electric midsize luxury cars worthy of consideration are the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/audi/a6-sportback-e-tron/">Audi A6 Sportback e-tron</a> and <a href="https://www.kbb.com/bmw/i5/2025/">BMW i5</a>, starting in the same financial bracket as the EQE. We expect resale values to be at least average for the class, if not a little better. Battery and Efficiency

The EQE with one motor has a bigger battery than its dual-motor stablemate. The rear-drive EQE 320 employs a power pack with a usable capacity of 96 kilowatt-hours (kWh), while the all-wheel-drive EQE 320 4Matic makes do with 90.5 kWh.
<h3>4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
Mercedes-Benz has new-car and powertrain warranties of four years or 50,000 miles, whichever happens first. These terms are typical in the luxury sector. The EQE’s battery is covered for 10 years or 155,000 miles, which is more generous than usual.
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
Although the Mercedes-EQ EQE sedan hasn’t been crash-tested by any agencies in the United States, it earned a maximum five stars overall from a similar program across the Atlantic: Euro NCAP.

What's new for

Last year’s EQE 350 cars are replaced by 2026 EQE 320 and EQE 320 4Matic models. The EQE 500 4Matic has been discontinued for the United States. We say hello to a standard NACS adapter, so EQE users can plug into Tesla Superchargers. Meanwhile, we say goodbye to the haptic accelerator pedal in Eco mode, beginner/valet driving mode, the Acoustic Comfort package, the optional heated windshield, and the black microfiber headliner. Both the Hyperscreen and Burmester audio system were standard last year, but they’ve migrated to the options list for 2026. Mercedes-Benz now offers a new Winter Package with a heated windshield washer system, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear seats.
The upside to this de-contenting and the streamlined choices is that the 2026 EQE now begins about $10,000 less than before.

The value-packed Toyota Corolla holds up its reputation as an efficient, safe, and reliable commuter.

The 2026 Toyota Corolla is powered by a 169-horsepower 4-cylinder engine matched with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive. We’ve found it delivers enough pep to get around town and to cruise comfortably on the highway. Acceleration builds sufficiently quickly for daily driving duties and improves over the weaker base engine, equipping the earlier model years of this generation. Driving with the paddle shifters on the SE and XSE trims gets a little more engaging. Overall, the ride is compliant, the seats are comfortable, and it’s hard to find fault in how it drives.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The popular LE trim of the Corolla has an impressive <a href="https://fueleconomy.gov/feg/make.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">EPA</a>-estimated fuel economy rating of 32 city/41 highway/35 combined mpg. It’s slightly more efficient (and more powerful) than its entry-level counterparts in the compact sedan segment. The upper trims lose one mpg in combined driving. If efficiency is a high priority, the Corolla Hybrid, reviewed separately, earns up to 47 mpg combined.

Subtle Exterior

The aesthetics of the Toyota Corolla are humble yet stylish. The SE and XSE trims look a little sportier than the base LE model, with revised front and rear fascias and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Smartphone connectivity 
We love to see wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity come standard in affordable cars. These features make it easy to bring your maps, music, and more from your phone to the screen in your car without fussing with wires.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 
The standard safety tech suite in the Corolla bundles many desirable features. It has automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, lane-tracing assist, road sign assist, and automatic high beams.
Adaptive Cruise Control 
Another technology included with Safety Sense 3.0 is this set-it-and-forget-it cruise control. Once set, it maintains a safe distance from the car ahead, automatically slowing and speeding up as needed.
Smart Key 
Toyota’s version of proximity keyless entry automatically unlocks the Corolla as long as the key fob is on your person. We truly miss this convenience feature when testing a car without it. It’s standard beginning with the SE trim.
8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia 
The standard 8-inch touchscreen in the Corolla houses features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual Bluetooth phone connectivity, and over-the-air updates. If you want a larger touchscreen, a 10.5-inch screen comes standard in the XSE trim and as an option in the SE.
Intelligent Assistant 
This optional feature on the Corolla adds a cool piece of modern tech to this compact. Just say, “Hey, Toyota,” the infotainment system acts like a smart speaker responding to voice commands. We used it to get directions, control the audio, change the cabin temperature, and more.

We found the interior quality of the Corolla to be pretty good for a compact car at this price point. The standard cloth seats are comfortable, and the upper trims get SofTex faux leather seating. As for the 8-inch infotainment screen (and available 10.5-inch touchscreen), we love that it has standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A welcome upgrade this year is a standard 7-inch digital gauge cluster, upgradeable to a 12.3-inch display, making the Corolla a little more high-tech.
The rear seats have 34.8 inches of legroom, which is adequate for most adults but just okay for this class. The trunk has 13.1 cubic feet of volume, which is on the smaller side for this segment. We also found it oddly challenging to fold down the rear seats because of the awkward placement of the latches behind the headrests.
For reference, the roomier Honda Civic sedan boasts 37.4 inches of rear legroom and has a 14.8 cubic-foot trunk. If you want more cargo room and flexibility, consider the Corolla Hatchback.

The Toyota Corolla is one of the best cars money can buy for someone who just doesn’t want to have to worry about their car. It upholds its decades-old reputation as a safe, reliable, and fuel-efficient car that’s affordable both to buy and to own. A simple model range for 2026 makes it an easy car to shop for, and it gets a couple of tech upgrades this year, like standard blind-spot monitoring and a digital gauge cluster.
