<p>The 2026 Taycan Cross Turismo offers a choice of drivetrains, each with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive. The 4 has 429 hp and, using launch control, will sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in a brisk 4.5 seconds. That all sounds great and more than adequate. However, we’re talking about Porsche here, so there’s always a chance for greater muscle and higher speeds.</p>
<p>Like the 4S, for example, that zaps the 60 mph mark in 3.6 seconds thanks to 590 hp. Then come the Turbo models, which don’t have turbochargers, but we interpret this as Porsche’s way of saying “exceptionally powerful.”</p>
<p>The regular Turbo has a considerable 871 hp and hits 60 mph in only 2.6 seconds. Or the Turbo S shaves 0.2 of a second from that time with its immense 938 hp. All these power figures are the maximum available when using launch control.</p>
<p>As well as speed, the Taycan Cross Turismo is also adept at handling, containing and channeling all the forces created by such energy-rich motors. An adaptive air suspension is standard, with settings stretching from comfortable to sporty. The optional Porsche Active Ride suspension will smooth out bumps as if they didn’t exist and perform the same electrohydraulic magic on body roll, acceleration squat, and braking dive. Rear-wheel steering is also available, and we think it’s well worth the investment because it helps make the Taycan Cross Turismo feel nimbler through the turns and more maneuverable in tight spaces.</p>
<h3>Range and Charging</h3>
<p>The best range of 277 miles is achieved by the entry-level Cross Turismo 4. The 4S manages 272 miles, the Turbo comes in at 265 miles, and the Turbo S manages 261 miles. There aren’t any other all-electric luxury wagons for direct comparison, although the Tesla Model S (with a hatchback) has a maximum of 402 miles. But as we’ve said before and will no doubt say again, no one buys a Porsche Taycan just for its range. We’ve found Porsche’s range estimates translate well to the real world and seem understated at times.</p>
<p>According to Porsche, charging the battery from 10% capacity to 80% takes 18 minutes on a DC fast charger’s highest setting. That compares well with other fast-charging EVs. Using a home charger with a 240-volt supply, a full recharge takes about 9.5 hours, which is fine for overnight replenishment.</p>


Practical Yet Cool Exterior

<p>This Taycan Cross Turismo variant brings a wagon-like practicality (and, dare we say, coolness) to the rear end. It also has SUV-like plastic cladding on the sides, and a maximum ground clearance of 6.9 inches at the standard air suspension’s highest setting. That’s still not a lot for the roads less traveled, but at least there’s a choice between this and the other Taycan variants.</p>
<p>At 16.3 feet, the Taycan Cross Turismo is only about half an inch longer than its sedan stablemate. We review the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo variant separately. We also cover the Taycan sedan in a standalone review.</p>
<p>Porsche endows every Taycan with matrix-design LED headlights and LED taillights, and charging ports are now on both sides, which is wonderfully convenient. The company also offers a broad choice of paint colors, including the option of matching to a customer-supplied sample.</p>

<p><strong>Porsche Intelligent Range Manager</strong><br />
A standard feature in the Taycan Cross Turismo is that it will calculate the most energy-efficient route, taking into account factors like real-time traffic and any charging requirements along the way.</p>
<p><strong>Remote Park Assist</strong><br />
By using a phone app, drivers can control their Taycan Cross Turismo with this optional feature, slotting it into (or out of) parallel or perpendicular parking spaces while standing outside.</p>

Otherwise known as Porsche’s adaptive cruise control. It’s linked to the navigation system, taking topography and curves into account, sensing traffic around the vehicle, and keeping the car in its lane. This is optional in the 2026 Taycan Cross Turismo.</p>

<p>We’ve found the Taycan Cross Turismo roomy enough for four adults. It offers a small rear center seat as an option. We’re also impressed by the quality of the cabin materials, the fit and finish, and the combination of luxury and technology. In typical Porsche fashion, this cabin is supremely luxurious with a distinctly sporty character and, in this case, wagon practicality.</p>
<p>The Cross Turismo has a cargo space advantage over its Sport Turismo sibling, with 15.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats (as opposed to 14.3), expanding to 42.8 cubic feet (instead of 41.4) when those seats are folded down. All Taycan bodies have an additional 2.9 cubic feet of stowage under the hood.</p>

It’s stable, comfortable, and confident, and its wagon-like tail adds a practical element. Standard all-wheel drive (AWD) and a slightly raised ride height allow it to handle a dirt road or two.</p>
<p>The Taycan Cross Turismo is a novel variation of the excellent Taycan sedan, bristling with many of the qualities that have made <a href="http://www.kbb.com/porsche/">Porsche</a> the legend it is today. This model launched for the 2021 model year, 12 months after the sedan made its debut. <p>The battery in the 2026 Taycan Cross Turismo has a gross capacity of 105 kilowatt-hours (kWh) and a usable net capacity of 97 kWh. Clever thermal management allows it to charge at high currents. When using an 800-volt charging station, the rate is 320 kW. To optimize charging speeds on a 400-volt network, Porsche also includes a 150-kW DC/DC converter as standard.</p>
<p>The EPA gives the Taycan Cross Turismo a combined efficiency rating of 77 to 81 MPGe, depending on the configuration. This EV has respectably low fuel costs, but rivals from Tesla, Lucid, and Mercedes-Benz all use electrons more efficiently.</p>
<h3>4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
<p>Porsche’s new-vehicle warranty lasts four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. This includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The battery is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles. These arrangements are typical among European luxury vehicles.</p>
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
<p>Neither sedan nor Turismo (wagon) versions of the Taycan have been crash-tested by any agencies in the United States, but an independent European test program (Euro NCAP) gave the car a maximum overall score of five stars.</p>

Power, Ride, and Handling

<p>The 2026 Chevrolet Traverse is powered by a 328-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder engine matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). We tend to like having an old-fashioned V6 in a vehicle dedicated to hauling lots of people and cargo, but this turbo-4 did just fine when we tested it in real-life family car duty with all three rows occupied. Even when loaded up with passengers, the Traverse never felt underpowered, but the engine did get a bit noisy under hard acceleration.</p>
<p>Ride quality is par for the course in the Chevy Traverse; it rides about as well as anything else in this class. Handling is stable and confident for such a big SUV, and body roll never feels excessive in daily driving duties. The steering feels right, the brakes are adequate, and, overall, it’s a pleasant car to drive. As for its off-road capabilities, we’ve driven the Traverse Z71 off the beaten path and can confirm that its extra ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and standard all-wheel-drive system make it a confident off-roader.</p>
<p>One of our favorite features of the Traverse is Super Cruise (optional on every trim), which allows for almost effortless hands-free driving on more than 750,000 miles of North American highways. It even does automatic lane changes. The Traverse’s comfortable driver’s seat with Super Cruise on and the available Bose audio system delivering your music or podcasts isn’t a bad way to eat up miles on the highway.</p>
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
<p>The Chevy Traverse gets up to 20 city/27 highway/23 combined mpg with front-wheel drive. With all-wheel drive, those ratings drop to 19 city/24 highway/21 combined mpg. These efficiency ratings are ok for a midsize 3-row SUV, but hybrids are getting more popular in this class with offerings like the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/toyota/grand-highlander-hybrid/">Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid</a>, <a href="https://www.kbb.com/hyundai/palisade-hybrid/">Hyundai Palisade Hybrid</a>, and <a href="https://www.kbb.com/mazda/cx-90-phev/">Mazda CX-90 PHEV</a>.</p>


Stylish Exterior

<p>The Chevy Traverse is boxy while still having a nicely sculpted body with some distinct character lines. Its squared-off look is part of what makes it so roomy inside. We like that there’s some visual variety in the model range, with the RS bringing a sportier look and the Z71 hinting at its off-road capabilities.</p>

With a 17.7-inch display, Google Maps built in, and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay functionality, the Traverse’s infotainment system has just about everything we’re looking for in a modern car’s screen.</p>
<p><strong>Super Cruise</strong><br />
There are a few hands-free highway driving systems out there, and Super Cruise is one of the best. It allows for eyes-on-the-road, hands-off-the-wheel driving on approximately 750,000 miles of North American highways, and it can even do hands-free lane changes. We love that it’s available on the Traverse.</p>
<p><strong>Standard hands-free liftgate</strong><br />
Speaking of hands-free, every 2026 Chevy Traverse comes standard with a hands-free power liftgate. This is a strong asset on a family vehicle, and it’s a costly option for most of its competitors.</p>
<p><strong>Rugged Z71 trim</strong><br />
The Chevy Traverse Z71 has the off-road chops to back up the storied Z71 nameplate made famous on trucks and bigger SUVs. In addition to its macho appearance package, it has a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system, added ground clearance, revised suspension, Terrain mode, and all-terrain tires making it as adventurous as it looks.</p>
<p><strong>Sporty RS trim</strong><br />
Anyone looking for a sporty look on a practical family hauler will be drawn to the stylish Traverse RS. This SUV’s top trim comes with 22-inch black wheels, unique front and rear fascias, black leather seats with red accents, and a flat-bottom steering wheel.</p>
<p><strong>Smart Slide seats</strong><br />
The Chevy Traverse was designed with families in mind, so it has one of the better systems for getting the second-row seats out of the way for easy third-row access. We’ve tested these seats with child car seats in them, and they work great for loading up the cabin with kids.</p>


Huge Interior

<p>A sizeable 17.7-inch infotainment display is the centerpiece of the Traverse’s interior. This is one of the more user-friendly systems out there, thanks to its Google built-in functionality. Google Maps and Google Assistant come standard, plus you get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There’s also a customizable 11-inch digital gauge cluster. It’s all very modern and high-tech without ever feeling intimidating.</p>
<p>We’ve tested more than enough midsize 3-row SUVs to confirm that not all third-row seats are created equal. However, the way back of the Chevy Traverse is one of the good ones. Third-row access is fairly easy when the car is equipped with Smart Slide seats. Once you’re back there, third-row accommodations are pretty good, with 32.1 inches of legroom, four cupholders, two USB-C ports, and two air vents. This third row is still more suitable for kids than adults, but it’s one of the roomier and more easily accessible seating arrangements in this class.</p>
<p>Another strength of the Chevy Traverse is its cargo room. There are 22.9 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 56.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and 97.6 cubic feet behind the first row. That puts it up there with the Toyota Grand Highlander and <a href="https://www.kbb.com/volkswagen/atlas/">Volkswagen Atlas</a> as one of the roomiest midsize SUVs available.</p>

Engine and Transmission

<p>The Traverse’s turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine makes 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, a meaningful boost over the 310 horses and 266 lb-ft of the previous generation’s V6. That extra torque makes its presence felt when accelerating from a standstill. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to the wheels. Average for this class, the Traverse can tow up to 5,000 pounds.</p>
<h3>3-Year/36,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
<p>Chevrolet’s bumper-to-bumper limited warranty for its new vehicles lasts three years or 36,000 miles, whichever happens first. Powertrains are covered for five years or 60,000 miles. These are the usual arrangements for the class. The first service is also free, which isn’t so typical.</p>
<h3>Safety</h3>
<p>The Chevy Traverse received the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NHTSA</a>) top overall safety rating of 5-Stars. It also earned the Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (<a href="https://www.iihs.org/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IIHS</a>). Standard driver assistance features are quite comprehensive, including forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian/cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and more.</p>


What's New for 2026

<p>The Chevy Traverse carries over to the 2026 model year with minor changes. It introduces two new paint options, Polar White and Sandstone Gray, and a new Key Card feature allowing drivers to lock, unlock, and start the car by tapping a card on a designated spot.</p>
