A massive 617-horsepower total output from two electric motors gives the Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV truly brisk acceleration, with a claimed zero-to-60-mph time of just 3.4 seconds. That’s down there in serious sports car territory. The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, for example, is a half-second quicker. The AMG Dynamic Plus package also brings a temporary boost to 677 hp.
Throw in the AMG-tuned performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive (AWD) system, AMG Ride Control+ air suspension, 9-degree rear axle steering, AMG high-performance compound brakes, plus a range of performance modes, and the AMG EQE SUV is ready to tackle just about anything anyone can throw at it, especially if that includes a series of demanding curves.
Otherwise, when driven sensibly, the AMG EQE SUV shares many of the traits of the non-AMG version, meaning it’s comfortable, quiet, and easy to drive, especially with the standard active safety features onboard.
Range and Charging
The dual-motor drivetrain in the AMG EQE SUV draws its power from a 90.6-kWh battery that, per EPA estimates, can provide up to 230 miles of range. That’s a bit less than the 302 miles of the non-AMG model, about 50 miles less than the BMW iX M60, or about 100 miles below the max of the Rivian R1S Tri.
The AMG EQE SUV charges quickly on DC fast charging, with a 10%-to-80% replenishment taking just 32 minutes at 170 kW. The SUV uses the CCS (Combined Charging System) plug rather than the more popular NACS plug.

Starting above $110,000, the 2025 AMG EQE SUV is a premium purchase, to be sure. Yet it’s still priced competitively against rivals, which include the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/rivian/r1s/">Rivian R1S</a>, <a href="https://www.kbb.com/bmw/ix/2025/">BMW iX</a>, and the loaded versions of the upcoming <a href="https://www.kbb.com/cadillac/lyriq-v/">Cadillac Lyriq-V</a>.
The comparable Rivian R1S has a 3-motor drivetrain and starts around $108,000. It also has more space and towing capacity than the AMG EQE SUV. The BMW iX is also larger than this Mercedes-AMG model and is about as powerful in M60 form.
The upcoming Lyriq-V offers about the same horsepower but is considerably more affordable, starting at around $85,000 and up to about $100,000 fully loaded. The <a href="https://www.kbb.com/tesla/model-x/">Tesla Model X Plaid</a> might also be considered a competitor based on price and performance, but it lags significantly in the luxury and equipment aspects of the AMG EQE SUV. On the other hand, the Model X offers significantly more range and even quicker acceleration.

Being only a few years old, there’s not a ton of resale data, but based on what’s out there, the AMG EQE SUV is holding its value better than the average electric luxury vehicle. The 2026 Toyota bZ takes its place alongside the top contenders among compact SUV EVs, posting healthy range, performance, and safety numbers.

To date, we haven’t spent enough time in the refreshed bZ to wax on at length about its driving characteristics. However, one of our editors did spend a couple of hours in a 2026 bZ, tooling around the streets and roads surrounding the Toyota headquarters in Texas. Her reaction was predictable. The extra power was immediately noticeable, as it should be.
That 50% boost in the pony count from 214 horsepower to 338 hp for the all-wheel-drive, dual-motor configuration is a major gain. Although the single-motor, front-wheel-drive versions aren’t up as much, they still jump from 201 hp to 221 hp. By the way, that’s about average for the base setup in this segment.
Because the steering and suspension are unchanged from the bZ4X to the bZ, we assume that handling is roughly the same. That is, placing the battery pack under the floor contributes to a stable, low center of gravity, enhancing the feeling of agility and increasing confidence. However, that’s pretty much the same layout as every other electric vehicle, so the bZ doesn’t gain any real advantage over its rivals in that regard. As with its competitors, we found the bZ’s predecessor rode smoothly, if a bit stiffly, and handled corners with competence. When we can spend days rather than hours with the bZ, we’ll let you know here if it lives up to expectations.
One unexpected feature is X-Mode on all all-wheel-drive models. Borrowed from Subaru — the bZ is closely related to the Subaru Solterra — this feature provides a more aggressive off-road setting.
<h3>Range And Charging</h3>
Estimated ranges depend on the trim level, motor count, and battery size. Only the base, front-wheel-drive XLE uses the smallish 57.7-kWh battery. Every other bZ configuration gets the bigger 74.7-kWh battery.

The increases in range certainly make the bZ competitive within the segment. The Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5 are in the same maximum-range league.
The big news on the charging front is that the bZ now comes with a North American Charging System (NACS) charging port, allowing access to the vast network of Tesla DC fast chargers. When using one, Toyota says you can top off the battery charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Also new for 2026 is Plug &amp; Charge capability, which eliminates the need to initiate a charging session using your phone. Another new feature is a battery pre-conditioning function, which shortens winter charging times by bringing the battery to its optimal charging temperature prior to charging.
Although Toyota doesn’t provide estimated charge times for AC charging at home, it has upped the onboard AC charger capacity from 7 kW to 11 kW. This should shorten charging times when using Level 1 or Level 2 charging schemes.

Updated Exterior

Toyota toned things down a bit on the outside of the bZ. We like the squinty headlights tied together by a wrap-around light bar. The tail has undergone some minor revamping, as well.

Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto 
Standard in both trims, the ability to integrate phones into the infotainment system without using a cable is wonderfully convenient.
Toyota Safety Sense 
This set of advanced safety features is standard in every bZ4X electric SUV. It includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, plus the ability to detect not only pedestrians but also cyclists (in low-light conditions), motorcyclists (in daylight), and guardrails. Blind-spot monitoring is also standard.
Heat pump 
Granted, this is not the most exciting aspect of EV ownership, but every bZ4X has a heat pump as standard. It scavenges thermal energy created by the drivetrain, sending it into the cabin as required. It means the battery can devote more energy to range.
Hey, Toyota 
German luxury cars have had this kind of thing for years, but the bZ comes with a digital assistant summoned by saying, “Hey, Toyota.” Then a command given in natural speech — like “lower the cabin temperature by five degrees” — is obeyed.
Digital Key 
This comes with the top Limited trim. It allows owners to share their bZ with up to seven others, each able to access and start the car with their phones.
Dual Wireless Charging Pads 
Front passengers will be thrilled to find the side-by-side wireless charging pads located on the center console. This allows the driver and the passenger to wirelessly charge their phones at the same time. What will they think of next?

Space and Tech

The bZ 5-passenger SUV packs plenty of interior space within its small footprint. Up front, the updated, slimmer dashboard is covered with fabric, a pleasant change from the usual plastic. Toyota added driver-customizable 64-color front/rear ambient lighting. An ample 3-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters controlling the degree of the regenerative braking is heated.
A 7-inch LCD information display is directly in front of the driver. To its right, in the center of the dashboard, is a 14-inch infotainment display. It features hard controls for volume and climate control.
Rear legroom measures 35.3 inches, perhaps just enough for adults of average size. If a full complement of passengers is going to be a regular occurrence, though, keep in mind that the Ioniq 5 has 41.7 inches of rear legroom. The bZ’s luggage area tops out at a generous 27.7 cubic feet (the same as the Kia EV6 and a little more than the Hyundai Ioniq 5).

Addressing many of the original bZ4X shortcomings, Toyota also rechristened it the Toyota bZ for the 2026 model year. In doing so, it has transformed this all-electric compact SUV into a more formidable competitor. Boasting an estimated maximum range of 314 miles — more than a 25% improvement — and faster charging times, the bZ can now go toe to toe with the segment’s leaders, giving informed shoppers a reason to buy the bZ for reasons beyond Toyota’s reputation for reliability and better-than-average resale values. In short, 2026 represents a giant leap forward for Toyota’s only electric vehicle (EV).
We’ve logged hundreds of hours driving and evaluating this generation of <a href="https://www.kbb.com/electric-car/best-electric-suvs/">electric SUVs</a>, including the Toyota bZ.

2026 Toyota bZ Pricing

The 2026 Toyota bZ will start at an estimated $41,000. This price is for the entry-level XLE front-wheel-drive (FWD) model, and includes the factory-to-dealer delivery charge. Toyota has been tight-lipped about pricing thus far. We know there are two core trim levels (XLE and Limited), and that Toyota will offer each with single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive. Actually, there is a fifth configuration with a smaller battery and single-motor version of the XLE, which we used to estimate the starting price above. Toyota makes no mention of the Nightshade trim that slotted between the XLE and Limited in the 2025 bZ4X lineup in the currently available information. It was primarily an appearance upgrade to the XLE, so we are ignoring it for now.

We think the all-wheel drive XLE will be the trim-level sweet spot in terms of price and content. The competitive pool among compact electric SUVs is deep indeed. We think the revitalized bZ will still be in the pricing ballpark with heavyweights, such as the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/hyundai/ioniq-5/">Hyundai Ioniq 5</a>, <a href="https://www.kbb.com/kia/ev6/">Kia EV6</a>, <a href="https://www.kbb.com/nissan/ariya/">Nissan Ariya</a>, <a href="https://www.kbb.com/tesla/model-y/">Tesla Model Y</a>, and <a href="https://www.kbb.com/volkswagen/id4/">Volkswagen ID.4</a>. The <a href="https://www.kbb.com/chevrolet/equinox-ev/">Chevrolet Equinox EV</a> will remain one of the bargains in this class.
Before buying the Toyota bZ, check the Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price to know what you should really pay. Toyota has a history of its models retaining value better than most other brands. In fact, the bZ4X retained value better than the segment average, despite its shortcomings. We suspect the 2026 bZ will perform even better. Battery And Efficiency

Toyota arms the bZ with one of two batteries. Only available in the entry-level XLE FWD trim is a 57.7-kWh battery with a single motor powering the front wheels. All the other versions from the single motor XLE FWD Plus and up use a 74.7-kWh battery. The government has yet to release any estimated MPGe numbers.
3-year/36,000-Mile Warranty
Toyota’s new vehicle warranty lasts three years or 36,000 miles, whichever happens first. Powertrains are covered for five years or 60,000 miles. These are typical among mainstream manufacturers, but not as good as Hyundai and Kia. The lithium-ion battery has an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty. Toyota also provides free scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 25,000 miles, plus two years of roadside assistance (unlimited mileage).
Safety Ratings
Despite its significant upgrades for 2026, we think it will retain the 2025 bZ4X safety ratings. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="http://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NHTSA</a>) gave the bZ4X a maximum 5-Star overall score, while the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (<a href="https://www.iihs.org/ratings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IIHS</a>) named it a 2025 Top Safety Pick+.

What's new for 2026

Although <a href="https://www.kbb.com/toyota/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Toyota</a> isn’t billing it as a major midcycle refresh, we certainly understand anyone’s misconception that it is just that. The improvements are significant and, we argue, game-changing. Highlighting the upgrades are new motors and a new battery, resulting in more horsepower and greater maximum range. Furthermore, recharging performance is improved when home charging because of a higher capacity (11-kW vs. 7-kW) onboard AC charger, and when on the road, thanks to now being equipped with a North American Charging System (NACS) port, which allows it to access thousands of Tesla fast charging stations nationwide.
Toyota has toned down the exterior styling a bit. A wraparound light bar now ties together the thin LED headlights. Although you can still get the rather jarring black overfenders accenting the exterior of 2025 versions, Toyota also offers them color matched to the rest of the exterior paint. Inside, a larger 14-inch touchscreen highlights a new instrument panel design.

The Dodge Durango is showing its age, but we can’t help but love the V8 options that bring muscle car performance and attitude to this 3-row family SUV.

In standard form, the 2026 Dodge Durango is powered by a 293-horsepower V6 engine matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The performance of the standard V6 is about average for this class. Our testing found acceleration to be more than adequate, even with a full complement of passengers. It’s the engine that makes the most sense for most drivers.
However, maybe you aren’t most drivers. What makes the Dodge Durango unique in its class of family haulers is the availability of multiple V8 engines. Perhaps it’s cliché, but it’s accurate to say that a V8 under the hood gives the Durango the performance of a muscle car with the practicality of a 3-row SUV.
A 360-hp 5.7-liter V8 powers the Durango R/T. In addition to stronger acceleration and a more satisfying exhaust note, this V8 unlocks the Durango’s maximum towing potential of up to 8,700 pounds when equipped with the Tow N Go package. Also, all-wheel drive, a sport suspension system, and performance steering come standard with every R/T model, enhancing this SUV’s performance.
The Dodge Durango’s SRT Hellcat version is the most powerful production SUV that’s not an electric vehicle (EV). Power comes from a stunning 710-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V8, which gives this 3-row family SUV a zero-to-60 mph time of less than four seconds. It delivers tire-roasting mayhem when you floor the accelerator, but the power is easier to manage than you might expect in daily driving duties.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
The 2026 Dodge Durango returns up to 20 combined mpg with its standard V6, no matter the number of drive wheels. This is a little below average for a base engine in this class. Meanwhile, the Hemi V8 that powers the R/T model returns up to 17 combined mpg, and the mighty SRT Hellcat only gets 13 mpg. The base V6 uses regular gas, midgrade is recommended for the R/T, and premium is recommended for the Hellcat.

Muscular Exterior

The Dodge Durango has a muscular appearance that matches its performance. It has a decidedly more aggressive look than the other minivan alternatives in its class. We kind of appreciate that it’s not following the off-road trend; it’s an SUV tuned for street performance, and it looks like one.

Powerful engines 
The Dodge Durango has powerful engines similar to those formerly available in the Dodge Charger and Challenger. These powerplants give the Durango thrilling performance, especially for a 3-row family SUV.
Muscular styling 
The Dodge Durango is no sleeper, with macho styling to match its performance. It gets a meaner look as you upgrade to the more powerful V8 engines and has exterior styling options like over-the-top stripes and head-turning paint options.
Uconnect 
The Dodge Durango’s Uconnect infotainment system is feature-rich and user-friendly. The standard system comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, you can upgrade it with navigation, Amazon Alexa, wireless smartphone connectivity, and multiple options for premium audio systems.
Tow up to 8,700 pounds 
When properly equipped, the Dodge Durango boasts an impressive towing capacity of up to 8,700 pounds. That’s towing muscle comparable to more expensive full-size SUVs.
Seating for seven 
You won’t be far off if you call the Dodge Durango a 7-seat muscle car. Three-row seating comes standard. Captain’s chairs are standard in the SRT Hellcat and optional in lower trims.
R/T Blacktop Redline package 
The new-for-2026 R/T Blacktop Redline package rides on 20-inch black wheels and sports SRT front and rear spoilers, black &#8220;Hemi&#8221; and &#8220;Dodge&#8221; badging, red interior stitching, suede SRT performance seats, and laser-etched interior trim.

3-Row Interior

The 2026 Dodge Durango has a spacious and practical 3-row interior. We found the third row suitable for kids. With 33.5 inches of legroom, passenger space in the way back is average for this class. The cargo volume of 17.2 cubic feet behind the third row is a little tight, but we found much more room for groceries and strollers when we folded down the third row, yielding 43.3 cubic feet of room.
Available second-row captain’s chairs make the second row more comfortable and the third row easier to access. The captain’s chairs are standard in the SRT Hellcat model and optional in the lower trims.
In 2026, the Durango’s interior is starting to feel a bit dated compared to more modern rivals, like the Hyundai Palisade and Honda Pilot. However, you can make it feel more refined with options like Nappa leather seating and a Harman Kardon 19-speaker audio system.

Still in its third generation, which first came out for the 2011 model year, the Dodge Durango is the oldest model in the midsize SUV class. Although it’s showing its age, we can’t help but fall for its charms as a muscle car that’s been stretched out into a 3-row family vehicle. Its macho aesthetic is backed up by two V8 options, which have been a rarity in this segment for some time now. They not only give the Durango brawny performance and a satisfying sound, but also a class-leading max tow rating of up to 8,700 pounds. While its competitors lean into the off-road trend, the Dodge Durango is decidedly an SUV built for on-road performance in the way it looks, sounds, and moves.

Engine and Transmission

Depending on your wallet, you can pick from three engines: a V6 and two V8s. All are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Durango shines in two areas: towing and acceleration. You can tow up to 6,200 pounds with the V6 and up to 8,700 pounds with either V8. The former tow rating is above-average, and the latter is class-leading.
According to Dodge, the SRT Hellcat, with its supercharged V8, can reach 60 mph from a standstill in 3.5 seconds. We don’t need to check direct competitors’ stats to argue; none can beat that time.
<h3>3-Year/36,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
Dodge covers the Durango with a bumper-to-bumper limited warranty for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is typical coverage for mainstream car brands, as is Durango’s powertrain coverage for five years or 60,000 miles.
<h3>Safety Ratings</h3>
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (<a href="https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NHTSA</a>) gave the Dodge Durango an overall score of 4 Stars out of its best 5-Star rating. The standard safety technologies in every Durango include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors, but not much else. Other tech can be found in some option packages. Nearly every rival provides more advanced safety technology as standard.

So much for the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/dodge-says-goodbye-to-the-durango-hemi-with-last-call-special-editions/">&#8220;Last Call&#8221; editions</a> of the V8-powered 2025 Durango. Additionally, a new R/T Blacktop Redline package is available, there are some new wheel options, and the Tow N Go package is back as an individual option after a one-year hiatus. Tow N Go is a towing package that increases the Durango’s maximum towing capacity to 8,700 pounds.

The 2025 Audi Q8 is a luxurious and stylish midsize SUV with plenty of appeal inside and out, premium features and materials, and high-tech equipment.

The base Audi Q8 employs a 335-horsepower turbocharged V6, enabling a 5.5-second sprint time from zero to 60 mph. That’s solid performance for a sizable luxury SUV, and competitive with the BMW X6, which is about a third of a second quicker in xDrive40i form.
Beyond its innate sportiness, the Q8 is also comfortable, with a supple ride quality and supportive seats. It would make a fine road tripper, provided you don’t mind the fuel economy.
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
While the cost of a gallon of gas (or how far it will take you) is likely low on the list of priorities of an Audi Q8 owner, it’s still a relevant point of comparison. The base Q8 55 achieves 19 mpg combined (17 city/23 hwy), five less than the competitive BMW X6 and two less than the competitive Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.

Coupe-Like Styling

Crisp, clean, elegant design has been the hallmark of Audi’s exterior design for many years, and the Q8 is a fantastic example. Design revisions for last year brought subtle updates.
As far as coupe-like SUVs go, the Q8’s interpretation is a bit milder than some. Its raked yet not too steep roof line preserves quite a bit of utility.
This year sees no changes to the appearance or exterior packages.

Virtual Cockpit Plus 
Audi was one of the pioneers of the screen-based digital instrument cluster, and Virtual Cockpit Plus remains one of the best systems. Fully configurable and customizable, we’ve also found the system intuitive to use.
Animated Matrix-design LED headlights 
This standard feature automatically adapts the headlight beams to keep out of oncoming drivers’ eyes while maximizing the illuminated area ahead. The headlights can also project animated patterns on walls when parked — a fun party trick.
Bang &amp; Olufsen audio 
Take advantage of the Q8’s quiet cabin with this excellent 17-speaker,730-watt sound system from Bang &amp; Olufsen, which is available with the Premium Plus and Prestige trims.
360-degree camera system 
This field of view shows the complete surroundings of the Q8, minimizing the rearward blind spots, and making it much easier and safer to park or negotiate obstacles. This feature is standard in the Premium Plus and Prestige trims.
Remote Park Assist Plus 
This self-parking feature for parallel and perpendicular spaces, available at the Prestige level, perfectly complements a luxury SUV of the Q8’s size.
Adaptive air suspension 
For the most refined ride quality, choose the Q8 Prestige trim, which has this adaptive air suspension system as standard equipment. It also improves cornering composure and helps aerodynamics by lowering the vehicle at speed.

Pure Audi Interior

<a target="_blank" rel="noopener">Audi</a> has earned a reputation for gorgeous, well-made interiors; the Q8 is yet another example. Clean, futuristic, and without any gimmickry in its design or functions, the Q8’s cabin is a place of welcome, comfort, luxury, and high-tech features.
With only five seats in the cabin, the Q8 has plenty of space for every seating position. The Q8’s rear passengers have 40.2 inches of legroom, about five more than the BMW X6 offers, or about 1.5 inches more than the Genesis GV80 Coupe.
The Q8 provides 60.7 cubic feet of cargo area with the rear seats folded down, or 30.5 cubic feet with those seats upright. That’s about the same as the GV80 Coupe and a few cubic feet more than the BMW X6.
Our only complaint about the Q8’s interior is its outward sight lines, which the wide rear pillars obstruct. That can make it tricky to back up safely and accurately. Fortunately, the Q8 has standard blind-spot monitoring and can be configured with surround-view cameras.

For those who have grown beyond needing a 3-row premium SUV, the Q8 is a comfortable, safe, and luxuriously spacious choice. The Q8’s prestige, elegant exterior design, and classy cabin make it the passion-driven choice among the <a href=":censored:19:4fe1c87dd2:/audi/">Audi</a> flagship SUV line.

Every 2025 Audi Q8 comes standard with all-wheel drive (AWD) and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Q8 55 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that develops 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque and can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds.
The SQ8&#8217;s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 makes 500 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque, hitting 60 mph in four seconds. At the top of the Q8’s powertrain range is the RS Q8 Performance, with 631 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, and capable of 3.4-second zero-to-60-mph runs.
4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty
Audi’s new-car warranty lasts four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. That’s a typical warranty period for European luxury car manufacturers.
Safety Ratings

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

All versions of the 2025 Audi Q8 now come with road sign recognition as standard. Driver and front passenger-seat memory and massage functions become standard in the Q8&#8217;s Prestige trim.
