<p>The 2025 Mini Hardtop 4 Door is powered by a turbocharged 161-horsepower 4-cylinder engine matched with a 7-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The models with “S” in the name get a performance upgrade to 201 hp, plus way more torque. The base engine scoots this little car around just fine, but we think the S model is worth the slight price premium to unlock the Mini’s fun potential.</p>
<p>Regardless of the engine, the Mini Hardtop 4 Door handled beautifully in <a href="https://www.kbb.com/car-news/driving-the-2025-mini-cooper-hardtop/">our testing</a>, thanks to its small footprint and wheels stretched out to the corners. These qualities also make it a pleasure to drive on city streets, weaving through traffic and parking just about wherever you want with ease.</p>
<p>Every Mini is a great city car, but the longer wheelbase of the 4 Door model makes this a slightly comfier highway cruiser than the shorter 2 Door model. Speaking of comfort, we know those 18-inch wheel options are fabulous, but they make the ride quality a little harsher than the 17-inch wheels.</p>
<h3>Fuel Economy</h3>
<p>The Mini Cooper 4 Door has the same fuel economy ratings as the 2 Door. It returns 28 city/39 highway/32 combined mpg, regardless of the trim. That’s a little less efficient than the Nissan Versa, which doesn’t come with turbocharged performance.</p>
<p>Subcompact hatchbacks are supposed to have low fuel costs. Although the Mini is reasonably fuel-efficient, its premium gas recommendation makes it surprisingly expensive to fuel up for such a small car. Since the base model and the sportier S trim have identical fuel economy ratings, you might as well get the excitement of the Cooper S if it fits your budget.</p>

<p>Mini did an excellent job giving the Mini Cooper a 4-door body while keeping it appropriately small. It’s just big enough to be measurably roomier and more practical than its traditional 2-door counterpart, but it retains subcompact dimensions. Then, of course, there’s the disarming cuteness of the Mini Cooper, with one of the finest executions we’ve seen of a retro/modern design. The Mini is also highly customizable; it’s the only car we know of that’s available with a gradient purple contrast roof.</p>
<p>The adorable and properly small Mini Cooper is a breath of fresh air in an automotive landscape flooded with SUVs.</p>

<p>Although the new Mini Cooper models are not so different sizewise from their predecessors, the company’s decision to keep things clean and simple helps create a sense of space. Materials and build quality remain in that area between mainstream and luxury.</p>
<p>The automatic transmission’s shift functions have also been moved into the center console, leaving space for a wireless phone charging pad. The dashboard’s dominant feature, however, is a circular OLED infotainment touchscreen with a 9.4-inch diameter. This customizable screen is full of different themes that can change according to the drive mode.</p>
<p>The rear seats are usable, with 32.3 inches of legroom. Predictably, that’s more rear legroom than the 2-door Mini but less than the Mini Countryman SUV. Thanks to the boxy shape of the Mini, it has decent cargo space for such a small car. The 4-door Mini has 13.1 cubic feet of space behind the back seats, which is 47% more than the 2-door. Fold down the back seats, and you get a fairly huge 40-cubic-foot cargo hold.</p>

<p>It’s a little hard to compare the pricing of the <a href="https://www.kbb.com/mini/">Mini</a> to anything else since subcompact cars are slowly going extinct in the U.S. The <a href="https://www.kbb.com/nissan/versa/">Nissan Versa</a> is still around for the 2025 model year, starting at under $20,000, but the Mini is a decidedly sportier, more premium car. <p>The Mini Hardtop 4 Door is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine available in two different tunings. The base engine produces 161 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, good for a 7.9-second zero-to-60 mph time. Meanwhile, the Cooper S models pump out 201 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque for a 6.7-second zero-to-60 mph time. Since they have the same fuel economy ratings, the Cooper S is easy to recommend if your budget allows it.</p>
<p>Every Mini Cooper has a 7-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Sorry, no manual. If you like the idea of a Mini with all-wheel drive, consider the Countryman SUV.</p>
<h3>4-Year/50,000-Mile Warranty</h3>
<p>The Mini Hardtop 4 Door is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, which is typical for a luxury car. It also comes with complimentary scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.</p>

<p>The Mini Cooper&#8217;s standard safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist. What's new for 2025

<p>The Mini is fully redesigned for 2025. For starters, the “Mini Cooper” name is back after years of confusing model names like “Hatch” and “Hardtop.” The exterior is refreshed with a new take on the Union Jack-inspired taillight design, but don’t worry. The headlights are still round, and the roof still has the approximate height and flatness of a coffee table.</p>
<p>The interior gets a more significant redesign. A large, round infotainment display is the centerpiece of the new interior, which can change significantly based on the drive mode and your personal preferences. Mini struck a just-right balance of retro and modern, inside and out, with the redesigned Mini Cooper.</p>
<p>We can usually find it in our hearts to forgive automakers for discontinuing a manual transmission option, but the old-school stick shift was especially fitting in the go-kart-like Mini. Unfortunately, the redesigned 2025 Mini Cooper is automatic only.</p>

<p>In our testing, we’ve found the Kia EV6 is enjoyable enough, surprisingly exciting, or downright audacious. It all depends on which <a href="https://www.kbb.com/compare-cars/results?vehicleIds=476505|476519|476514|476531">trim level</a> you get or, more precisely, which power output and drive configuration you order it in. We’d skip the base EV6 Light RWD model, which has only 167 horsepower and takes over eight seconds to reach 60 mph. That isn’t slow, but it sure isn’t fast, especially for an EV. Stepping up just one trim to the new EV6 Light Long Range RWD rectifies that with a larger battery pack and 225 hp, which enables the zero-to-60-mph scoot in 7.3 seconds. If you opt for all-wheel drive (AWD), you get a second motor, 320 total hp, and a seriously exciting trip to 60 in just five seconds flat.</p>
<p>And then there is the Kia EV6 GT – the monster of the group that has become even more monstrous this year. The 2025 EV6 GT now makes 601 hp, which stretches to 641 hp in Launch Mode. Torque numbers are 545 lb-ft/568 lb-ft, respectively. Combined with standard all-wheel drive, this fastest of EV6 models leaps to 60 mph in a blistering 3.4 seconds — faster than some Lamborghini models. New this year, the EV6 GT adds virtual sounds and the sense of shifting gears to the fun via the Virtual Gear Shift. We first experienced these tricks in the similar Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, and we must admit to enjoying the sensation.</p>
<p>Beyond and perhaps regardless of the numbers, we’ve found the Kia EV6 perfectly enjoyable to drive. It has composure and poise, yet is comfortable enough for most drivers. The steering feel is also precise and well-weighted, while the brakes are direct and inspire confidence, even with four levels of regeneration. Speaking of stopping, we love that the Kia EV6 has one-pedal driving. This feature allows the vehicle to come to a complete stop simply by lifting off the accelerator pedal. It might feel odd the first day you use it, but then you’ll never want to return to “normal” driving again. Of course, even with one-pedal mode activated, the brake pedal still functions as normal, too.</p>
<p>For 2025, Kia EV6 models with the 84-kWh battery can tow up to 2,700 pounds, an increase of 400 pounds.</p>
<h3>Range and Charging</h3>
<p>The 2025 Kia EV6 electric SUV offers two sizes of battery packs, one or two motors, and various power levels, all of which affect its range and efficiency. Thanks to battery enhancements for 2025, the least-expensive Light RWD has a range of 237 miles between charges. The Light Long Range AWD and Wind AWD are rated to travel up to 295 miles, while the GT-Line AWD does 270. The most powerful EV6, the GT, has the least range at 231 miles.</p>
<p>The Light Long Range RWD, Wind RWD, and GT-Line RWD get up to 319 miles between charges, the most of the lineup.
